McDunkinFox may have a fictional Latvian basketball player in New Girl‘s Winston, but a new comedy in development brings some professional NBA talent to the network.
EW can confirm that Fox has made a script commitment to a half-hour comedy loosely based on NBA all-star Baron Davis’ life. The untitled single-camera comedy will be written by The Cleveland Show‘s Courtney Lilly and tell the story of a kid from South Central who, thanks to a scholarship, is able to attend a prestigious suburban school. With this change, he has to learn how to balance the two different facets of his home and school life.
Davis grew up in South Central but landed a basketball scholarship to the private school Crossroads in Santa Monica. Davis went on to play for 13 years in the NBA, including tenures with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks, and was named an all-star player twice.
20th Century Fox TV will produce the show along The Walcott Company’s Jake Johnson and Max Winkler.

Rip255Good find, I’ll check it out. So what is Baron Davis’s role in the show? I saw him do some comedy work with TNT that was based on his own (current) life, and he mentioned he wanted to go into TV production.
I think it will be good,…after all, who doesn’t love B-diddy?

JoeWolf1Man! So that’s what’s in development?
I’ve been pitching a show to them about Robert Swift and Michael Beasley as two wacky roomates who get jobs coaching rival middle school teams due to court ordered community service requirements.
Fox told me they already had another basketball related comedy in the works. I guess I know what it is, now.

ExumInfernoParticipantOr Oliver Miller could be the track team coach, and be really fast like Fat Albert was in the movie called Fat Albert.

butidonthavemoneyAh, yes. Oliver Miller. We could have all the transitions in the show be close-ups of his eyes/mouth coupled with chewing sound effects (kind of like those sequences in "Requiem of a Dream"). Or he can just live in one of the locker-rooms. Nobody would ever interact with him, but he’d always be in the background of all locker-room scenes. Like we’ll show him clipping his nails or sleeping; but never doing anything of consequence. Maybe in season two, he’ll suffer an existential crisis and cry into the camera for attention or something.
There can also be an episode where Bismack Biyombo makes one of the teams! John Bryant will have to make a cameo at some point, as well. Also, an episode where we throw salt at McDunkin.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia/The Gang Gives Back
The Gang Gives Back is the sixth episode of the second season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and the thirteenth episode overall. The gang have community service in which Mac, Dennis, and Dee are forced to coach basketball in the rec league. Meanwhile, Charlie has court-ordered AA and gets the waitress to be his sponsor.
When you get sued be sure to call the law offices of Mcdunkin, I may be wrong, & wiz kid where our slogan is "We Promise Nothing and Deliver Less" Cash payments upfront

machu46ParticipantWould not be surprised at all if Steve Nash appears on this show now that it sounds like he’s retiring.

theprophetParticipantfox does entertain us. they put on sports, some good shows, and they make up their own stories for their news. (yes, the research even points out and slammed on the dailey show that if you watch the news about on any other network you know more about the world than if you were to watch fox news. also note worthy, for those that don’t watch the news at all were more informed about what’s going on in the world than people that watch fox news because they were constantly misinformed)
i wouldn’t be surprised if they put on a show of criminal athletes living in the same house as a reality show like real world or something.
