Forum Ideas
1. NBAdraft.net chat
2.No more adding Mc to your name until i sign off on it.
3.A NBADL forum
4.Maybe move the draft board down to where the high school, international, etc boards are so maybe people will post in the teams boards instead of everybody posting in here.
nice ideas. Mainly i would just ike to see more users and traffic to keep topics going.
A lot of forums let users make polls in their topics.
This would be a great feature for our site.
Hayward, Babbitt, Henry or George -- Which player would you draft to your favorite team?
llperez - More traffic and users would be nice. I think we have been steadily growing ever since John Bryant Facts. Haha
McDunkin - A chat feature would be crazy. Imagine the Late Night Crew conversations...
it would be the sexiest chat ever....but anyway another idea i have is
Stickied threads(besides the twitter one)
(For those dont know these are threads that would stay at the top of the board)
This would be good for threads live "2010-11 Rookies" or something like that so a new thread wouldnt need to be made every time John Wall has a good game or Luke Babbitt doesnt.
First off, let me just say that this is a great site. We have people who are great at sparking debate (like Mr.Knick),
I'm touched. Also....I think I should have some MOD power.
No, I will say: I think the site is good, it's that trolling thing that annoys me. Also, can we eliminate the points? Please? It just sparks debate. If not, just make it where someone has to write why they disagree and sent it to you in a DM/PM. If the person makes stupid reason: Ban them.
I love this site. Keep up the great work! Yes, I agree with Mr.Knick. Can we please eliminate the points? Mr.Knick and I both have negative points and could use more positive points. Should we post a message stating that Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA? Surely, everyone will agree with us. I feel like those of us with negative points (Mr. Knick et al.) are often at a disadvantage because people won't even bother to read our postings before giving us negative points. Anyways, I think people should be required to provide a reason why they disagree. Also, is there any way to get rid of the spam (like the dude who's always trying to sell Jordans, jersey's and such)? I think a simple 'ban' request would be good too.
It would also be cool to have some girls who weren't only here to sell us handbags.
More mods are a must. There are just too many hijinks being pulled that make it slightly harder to enjoy my time here.
Is there any way we can access live streaming coverage of NBA games from this site? I like the idea of chatting in real time as the game is on. I think it would be cool if we could have access to the NBA League Pass so we could watch multiple games while chatting with others on the site. I realize to pay for it you would need more ads but I'm willing to put up with occasional pop up ads for free access to games.
I agree that maybe getting rid of points would be a good idea. But at the same time, negative points help us know immediately that people like Jlv2010 have nothing to contribute.
Speaking of which, can the mods just ban him? He is just a failed attempt at the forum villain. It's really quite pathetic actually, 345 posts, the sole purpose of which is either to directly contradict the first post or say, "Lebron sucks."
Also, @mcdunkin
"This would be good for threads live "2010-11 Rookies" or something like that so a new thread wouldnt need to be made every time John Wall has a good game or Luke Babbitt doesnt."
That's a good premise, but I found on the other boards that many people stop reading those threads, because they don't want to wade through 1000+ posts. I agree that its annoying to have constant john wall threads, but I think its the lesser of two evils.
you attain them to achieve rankings within a system. It's point based so it might not be much different.
@ Im Your Father: Everyone is entitled to their opinion about subjects. Just because I may not agree with yours doesn't mean you have to hate me.
P.S. As of July 8th, Lebron does suck.
If those are actually your opinions, I have zero problem with it. However, most of the time they don't seem like opinions at all, but rather just statements meant to irritate people.
Friendly user competitions every month, with some sort of bragging right prize/label for the winner.
User of the month. A legit thing, not that forum MVP topic crap.
A NBA graphics section
It's best not to question McDunkin's McSources.
As for what I want:
1) Bring the old profiles back. Please?
2) Eliminate the option of taking points away from someone. I know it sounds like I'm being really sensitive or whatever, but it would really cut down on the point complaints.
3) More contests.
also there should be a prize for the person that gets 1st in the nba draft thing such as an xbox or a car? or something like that, it would make things more interesting
I have to give you guys credit for making this an informative, amusing & entertaining site..I meet my former Jr. College coach during the summer and told him about this site ..And he was so impress with some of the posts and how much knowledge of the game some of you guys have...He had seen this site before be only looked at the mock drafts and never thought to checkout the forums..Becuz he thought this place was like the other forums.Poor writing, lame posts,1 liners with no reason or why. and guys repeating the same things on thread after thread..My coach says he love the point system and DYNCE's crazy trade threads..He has become a fan of a few of the posters on here and checks this site daily and he's introduced a few other coaches to this site..
The Point system is a huge problem, like some loser over the course of this whole week has literrally went back and too like 500 points from me. And everytime I come on the site I am missing like 50 more points.
The best option is not being able to give negative points therefore no life losers who may not of like something I said about their team will go back and rape me...
Points are a good idea because it shows immediatley who has brownie points on this site and who makes sense when they talk.
And a live chat is a great idea so we can come on late night and instead of just posting all these threads most of which i cant find we can just talk.
OOOOOW and video chat!! yeah video chat we can all put on basketball jerseys, or spandex, and just talk face to face...maybe thats a bad idea sorry...
But the article idea was a good idea because I have a lot of stuff written.
Bout to go eat Peanut Butter and Apple Jelly so...I know its random but there you have it.
There needs to be a better way to quote someone's post. If you have been to any other forum, you know what I mean.
Hey Rudeboy, what JUCO did you play for? Just curious like george.
I played at Calhoun jr. College in Tanner, Alabama..Thats 10 miles outside of Huntsville..
I got offers from a couple of D-1 schools..Mostly in the South ..But my grades weren't good enuff ,so i went the Juco route...
Seriously all jokes aside I don't care about points because the whole idea is just ruined like the post above me I just posted like 10 minutes ago in between that time I lost 50 points, I go into view where the negatives are coming from and they're coming from post like over a half a year old its really getting out of hand.
It's starting to feel like a personal attack and i would love to know who the no life coward punk needs a girl virgin should just kill themselves pu$$y is....
I've served this country so the last thing I would do is start some cornball cyber war. But if somebody go a problem with me Email:Sal19134@gmail.com or look me up on FB. Maybe I can show your how to better use ur time instead of going thru old post and hitting the thumbs down bottom....
Like really dude is that what you have resorted too, like you have nothing better to do..
Well I do so you can take all the points you it won't matter because if you post on this site odds are you;re a retard who nobody respects.
Its not about points its about intellectually stimulating arguments that make people think and find research to back up claims. If you can't do that don't post...Just read our post until you think you stepped your game up enough to actually articulate clever thoughts.
Damn Mr. 1934!!! Computer Rage!!! You're one of the more knowledgable of the newer posters. Don't sweat the point stuff.
There are flaws in the system, like for instance if you make a list and someone disagrees you get docked without any explanation, lol, thats what's frustrating about making a list. You'll get a -4 or -5 without any explanation, lol
Little suggestion for points system... It wont fix anything but it will give the people who care the option to explain themselves... You could simply have a "Why" text box appear after you give out a negative.. People could still just write "GAY!" or something in it but it would be a nice way to see who is really disagreeing with you and who is just taking your points.. A reason could be a required thing..
I love this site and am perfectly fine if nothing changes about it at all.. 1 little gripe I have about it personally is that it is hard to manage from a mobile device.. Have yall ever thought about a dumbed down version for iPhones and Blackberries?? I would even buy an NBADraft.net app if it was sold for either device! Just a little suggestion..
THANKS!!
Is that directed at me?
I think they should just take away the negative points button away and keep only the positive. So no one can just take away points if they don't like you. And giving points will show other users who the good posters are.
Adding "signatures" as an option would be cool. For people who have blogs like me it's an easy way to link people without having to go "duurrr read my awesome blog durr" every time. Either that or having a website option on the sidebar.
I don't like the idea of everyone being able to make polls; in other forums I've found that polls kill the discussion on worthy topics a lot of the time, because people just vote instead of explaining their choices.
By the way, great initiative in setting up the thread nomoney.
i used to think the points were stupid, but after seeing how many people complain about it, i think it works. Points are a way of making people think about what they post since they know if they post bs they will lose points it makes them think twice about it. ANd since so many people seem to care about points, i guess it works.
actually i thought the points have gotten stupider the more i have gotten. I think i stopped caring around 1000
1st. Do give me or a guy with a name like Mr. Knick Mod Powers...Guys with over 2000 points right now should be the only ones with Mod abilities...
2.nd...Live Event Chats...example...Playoffs,Finals,Draft and Lottery, Mcdunkins prom...this way we a steady hot topic thread to watch and join in on...
3rd...Video Chat Rooms...invites and accepts only...off course rules would apply like no nudity and such...sorry Marcus Fizer...
4th...The Nba Draft Net Point Apocalypse...everybody starts from stratch like it's 2012...I mean everybody starts at 0
I'm glad the scarecrow posted up there.
Honestly, that's the BS that needs to go off the site. I would LOVE to be a mod. I'm not gonna ban people but I want to regulate because there be some real lames on this site. And the thing about it: 2 people (Because we all know he gave himself a thumbs up) hate me, read it and said " Hey, I hate that Mr. Knick guy too!" and gave him a thumbs up.
Like I said, why not just let the people know who gave us thumbs up and downs? Do that, make special chats for the fans, allow fans to ask the interviewees you have questions and make me MOD.
That's all I want for Christmas. Make it happen!
Read my post...Your the same person your calling out for being lame...This is why we need video chat...Cause because grown ups like me can just avoid hurting the feeling of children like you by denying your request to argue or at least show the worl your a kid that doesn't know a thing about The GAME OF BASKETBALL...NOT WHO OR WHAT IS THE FLAVOR OF THE MONTH...My daughters have more maturity than you ...I said don't make you a Mod caus your obvisously a NY Homer and going through puberty...The OG's need to moderate this site ...Not You...And not Me...People don't hate me..they hate the Truth...They hate the way I think outside the Box...I did plus myself there...I got the balling rolling...I liked my own Idea...Duh....

First off, let me just say that this is a great site. We have people who are great at sparking debate (like Mr.Knick), people who know more about college basketball than just about every clown on ESPN (like JNixon-Iggy9) and people who keep a light-hearted atmosphere by making us laugh (like OrangeJuiceJones). Outside of the forum, there are informative player profiles, mock drafts and articles that are often used as references by journalists (usually around May-June). This site is downright addicting and I'm glad that I am a regular poster on this site.
That being said, this forum needs improvement. I know Aran_Smith, tli232 and the other moderators are trying their best to keep the forum spam-free, so I was thinking we (site vets) should start taking action to help them keep things working.
I say we start throwing out ideas.
And as users, we should...
I'll do my best to help clean up the site as well.
Anybody else have any ideas?
