FutureNBAGMParticipantRemember when the Pistons won the 2004 Championship and many people were talking about how it should’ve been a "team MVP"? That pretty much describes how I feel about this Spurs team.
But, as of right now, if they had to give the award to someone, who would it be?
You may not agree with me but I would pick Tim Duncan with Kawhi Leonard being a close runner up.
Who’s your pick?

Toronto16ParticipantI would say Kawhi, because not only is he scoring, but he is giving Lebron problems on the other end.

Memphis MadnessParticipantKawhi Leonard. Two GREAT games in Miami.
Kind of depends on the rest of the series. If Timmy takes them home with a 25/15 game then I can see him getting the Finals MVP.
But, if Kawhi closes them out in Game 5 with another GREAT game, he is my Finals MVP.
It would be cool to get Finals Co-MVP’s this year (Duncan and Leonard). That would give this Spurs dynasty three DIFFERENT Finals MVP’s along with Tony Parker in 2007.

thricethefunParticipantKawhi Leonard would be my pick. Was the Spurs best player in the 2 most important games so far this series.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf Boris Diaw gives us a 15, 12, 12 triple double with some decent defense I could see him getting the Finals MVP. But, he needs an even better stat-stuffing game.
Ok, Boris gets a stat stuffer triple double, locks down LeBron, and then wins the game and the series with a baby hook from 15 feet.
THAT would get it done.

FutureNBAGMParticipantHeck, I might be willing to give it to Pops as a MVC award! Incredible job once again.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantFutureNBAGM said what i was about to say..Can you give it to the coach? Pop has clearly outcoached Spoelstra in this series…Putting Diaw in the starting lineup changed this series,it has slowed Bosh and made the Spurs offense unstoppable..And telling his team they made a mistake in game 2 by not passing the ball and going 1 on 1..It helped becuz the way they’ve played the pass 2 games should be taught in basketball class 101….
Im a Heat fan and im more disappointed in the Heat’s defense and Spoelstra’s inability to counter Pop moves more then anything…

OhCanada-ParticipantKawhi has really set the tone defensively on Lebron and provided alot of energy offensively. He is so aggressive out there and it seems like he us just bullying Lebron. My buddy and I were comparing game 4 to a boxing match. The Spurs led by Kawhi just kept throwing heavy punches and Miami wasnt punching back. They just kept takiing it and ended up getting pummled.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThey should rename Boris Diaw "Fat 1996 Comeback Magic".

TarHeelRavenParticipantKawhi is the future of the Spurs when Tim Duncan decides to call it quits. He’s going to be a really good player and is the finals MVP so far in my opinion.

Memphis MadnessParticipantDuncan and Kawhi deserve to share the Finals MVP trophy. If not, just give it to Kawhi if he has another great game in Game 5 (if the Spurs close it out).
Lots of deserving MVP candidates on Dream Team ’14.

ditotayParticipantthem to give it to Leonard, but those first two games when he scored 18 points combined are going to hurt his chances. Maybe with another great showcase he could be the unanimous MVP of the series, but I think they are going to give it to Parker or Duncan (I am leaning towards Parker though) because of consistency. But I like Leonard work all series long, even when his shots weren’t falling. Don’t forget Ginobili’s passing ability and Diaw overall game. Man, guy’s like a swiss army knife.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s between Duncan and Leonard. I’d go with Duncan as of right now because he’s been more consistent. He’s averaging 16 and 10.

B-ball fanParticipantI think Tim Duncan should win it. He hasn’t necessarily outperformed expectations, like Kawhi and Diaw have, but his interior defense is hugely important for the Spurs. The Heat have struggled to finish at the rim these past two games and Duncan is a big reason why. Plus, he has had solid production so far.

llperezregardles of who wins the mvp, i think we can all agree this is truly a team victory. whther it’s duncan, leonard, parker, diaw or ginobli going to the bench, there is immediately someone else to step up and make plays in their place. The spurs team is so well rounded.

GrandmamaParticipantKawhi is the MVP at the moment. Yeah, he had two rough games in San Antonio while being in foul trouble. But he was an absolute monster in games 3 and 4. Duncan is close, Diaw is close, Parker is close. It’s truly a testament to the Spurs team. They play a great system and an unselfish brand of basketball. But if I had to vote right now, Kawhi is the MVP.
