Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWho’s your favorite team and why is that team your favorite? (i.e., Live near the team, family favorite, no reason, etc)
My favorite team is the Houston Rockets, I’m from Southern Cali but I fell in love with Tracy McGrady playing style when he was back in Orlando, so when he was traded to Houston, I immediately followed him and became a fan of the Houston Rockets, now he’s gone, but Houston is still my team.
Yours?

WizardofOzParticipantMy favorite team is the Washington Wizards just because I was born in D.C. and raised in the D.C. area. I was always a fan, even when they were bad, but now that they have John Wall, I even more excited for the start of the season.

torontoraptors10ParticipantToronto Raptors
Why? I am from Toronto, love the city but no so much the ups and downs of the franchise. Stoudemire to VC to Bosh to who knows now! But hopefully we get a championship within the next 10 years. Looks like BC has finally ditched his Euro ways and hopefully he trades Calderon. We get the first overall pick and get Harrison Barnes and lets see what becomes of the Raptors.

CopShadesParticipantReggie Lewis was the guy when I first started watching pro ball. A really unique player, awesome 1st step, great mid range jumper. May he rest in peace.
The rejuvenation of the team has been great, there have been good draft picks (Rondo & Perk) and great trades to put ’em where they should be.
Matt – good point about Pierce. What fortune we had to land him as a #10 pick. Walker used to just kill me, could not stand watching him jack 3 after 3. Ugh.

Born right outside Milwaukee. Been a fan since I was younger when they had guys like Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson and Cassell. Right now this is the most hype this team has had going into a season since their 01 eastern finals run. Love how Skiles gets his guys to play and have a a lot of young talent to build around. Hopefully after a couple veteran signings this year and probably next year theyll turn into a championship contender. FTD.

llperez@mattholdenbrown, paul pierce did not carry boston to the conference finals by himself. Walker was just about as important to that team. Both were all-stars. Walker shot better from the field and 3 point line during the playoffs and hit more 3’s too.
Pierce playoff stats: 25ppg…9reb…4apg
Walker playoff stats: 22ppg…9reb…3apg

SubZeroParticipantOKC. Used to be Heat but when the Sonics went to OKC, they became my team. I was born in OKC but living in Mississippi right now so I don’t have a team around.
Also, I’ll root for the Wizards for John Wall, but the Magic are my team in the East

IndianaBasketballParticipantIndiana Pacers.
They’re my hometown sqaud.
I became a huge fan in 93-94. That was the year they swept Orlando in the first round and then beat Atlanta (who was the top seed) in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. We lost to the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals, but Reggie Miller put on a show lol. I was hooked after watching Miller score 25 in the fourth quarter of game 5 and then flash the choke sign at Spike Lee lol.
I’ll never forget the players we had throughout the 90’s. Players like Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Detlef Schrempf, Pooh Richardson, Sam Mitchell, Derrick McKey, Mark Jackson, Dale Davis, Antonio Davis, Haywoode Workman, Travis Best and Jalen Rose.
I don’t know if a lot of people know or not, but during the Bulls’ 72-10 season, the Pacers beat the Bulls twice lol. That stands out.

joecheck88Participantback in like 8th grade everyone would flip flop teams and stuff. i was always a 76ers fan because i lived in philly, and iverson was awesome. but my favorite team was the clippers with darius miles, elton brand, quentin richardson and lamar odom but everyone was jumping on the bandwagon(to be fair they were very exciting). so i decided to change teams. i didnt know who to choose and was watching the clippers play the phx suns. well, there was a pick and roll with stephon marbury and this 6 foot 10, 20 year old rookie power forward rolled to the basket and caught the bounce pass from marbury. he then took the ball up with one hand and threw down a hard dunk on former number 1 pick, michael olowakandi. this rookies name? amare stoudemire. since then its been all phx, im gonna miss u STAT!!

RickyRubio9ParticipantRockets, ever since 4th/5th grade I’ve been a fan. My uncle & cousin got me hooked. I always heard of Steve Francis, but by the time I became a REAL fan they were traded away from T-Mac. When I heard him in the Press Conference saying “Great Things” & whatnot I got so pumped. Sadly injuries have been the story with my team since then.
I guess I became a fan due to family & hometown. I’ll never stop rooting for the Rockets UNLESS Yao actually leaves us..then I’d follow him, but I doubt that happens.0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/16/2010 - 11:46am #377338

canesboy6ParticipantRaised in the County of Dade. Although now we call it the County of Wade.
I’m a little pissed that we are gonna get a bunch of bandwagon Azz Heat fans, but oh well. Hop on that Bandwagon, as long as you bring booze or chicks!
I live in Denver now so my West Conf team is the Nuggets. But been a heat Fan my whole life. First game I ever saw in my whole life was Heat vs. Bulls and we beat Jordan. I remember thinking Dan Marjley or however you spell that crazy name was the best player I had ever seen lol…. he was my first favorite NBA player.

Demarcus OnealParticipantLakers- Since the first time I saw Kobe Bryant play basketball I fell in love with the Lakers , When he threw that alley oop to Shaq to come back from 15 down to win game 7 agasint the Blazers to win the first championship of the Kobe/Shaq era. Also when they had the worst team in NBA history with Smush Kwame and Walton staring but gained a 3-1 series lead on the Suns.
Raptors- Since I’m from Canada and the Raptors have to be one of the unluckiest Franchises ever and they are Canada’s only team I gotta support them
