SubZeroParticipantWho’s a guy outside of the lottery that you like for whatever reason? For me usually it’s a couple guys, and the first guy that comes to mind is Justin Jackson. Being a Kentucky guy, I hated him when we played them this past year for different reasons both games. If Monk didn’t hit those 3s in the first game, we would’ve lost because of Jackson making super clutch plays. In the tournament, we would’ve won if he didn’t shut Monk down. Whoever he guarded, he didn’t let them score. I like to think I’ve got good touch on floaters and shots around the rim, and his floaters are a thing of beauty. He’s a gamer and I think he’ll be a big part of Sacramento’s future alongside Fox, Buddy, Skal, and Willie
Side note, somehow Sacramento has joined the number of teams I’m rooting for. Didn’t see that coming

Miko4rm206ParticipantCan’t wait to see Terrence Ferguson play. And like what I’ve seen from Dwayne bacon looking Like a baby Derozen.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI liked Zach Collins at 10 for Sacto as the best guy on the board, but Justin Jackson looks pretty good. The team has a lot of good players (although most are either too young or past their prime), so they only need Justin Jackson to be a classic two-way glue guy at small forward.
I like team players so he is a guy I like. Lonzo is my favorite LOTTO guy… pass first, push the ball, if for no other reason than his YMCA jumper (ok, most guys at the gym can shoot better).
Just Jack was the 15th pick by a team who had a pick at 10, so not much of a non-lotto guy.
I also like Jonah Bolden as an athletic, high motor big.
Jordan Bell looked pretty good — doing what he does, dunk, rebound, and block shots. Could figure into the DEATH ROTATION battling Damian Jones for that young backup big man role (sorry Looney). McCaw looks to get minutes, too, but those Warriors guys were basically just jacking up 3’s. Maybe not a place to showcase Bell’s skills. Bell is a guy who can give you some of that rebounding/defense from Draymond Green, and Javale McGee’s shot blocking and dunking as a high motor big man. Not really a shooter with a refined offensive game, but, if he had that, he would have been a top 10 pick.
Lakers rooks look ok. I wanna see what they can do: Josh Hart, Thomas Bryant, and Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma looked like a poor man’s Brandon Ingram, with Hart looking like a solid backup shooting guard.
Karnowski: Undrafted. Big man. Had 20 in one summer league game (didn’t catch it though). I like burly big men, especially deep off the bench. Hopefully he hangs on.

Dog_ShammdogParticipantAs a Laker fan, my homer pick is Kyle Kuzma. He developed steadily during his time at Utah both physically and skillwise, and he is a ‘modern’ NBA style player who does a little bit of everything. Great size, length, mobility and good enough athleticism for a modern stretch 4. He also has a good motor and a nose for the ball. He has the potential to be a plus level rebounder, for his position, on both sides of the ball. That coupled with his shooting ability/potential makes him very intriguing in my opinion. He also has point forward potential and guarded Jason Tatum better than anybody else on the Lakers SL team, which is a small sample against a fellow rookie, but still encouraging. He may have more untapped potential than most had believed, even after his impressive showing at the combine.

MopgrassParticipantI’d also say Kuzma if he had a path to playing time. He’s ideal for today’s NBA. He’s a bit of a point forward, he can shoot outside, and he doesn’t take long with the ball… so the offense keeps moving. Good passer too. He looks great with Lonzo Ball. A very natural duo. They gotta trade Randle or Nance and get this kid minutes.

BallerScriptParticipantFrank Mason III, Semi Ojeleye and Monte Morris are my favourite non-lottery players.
If we were to include lottery guys I would add Fultz, Kennard and either Tatum or Bam to the list.

Dell87ParticipantReally really surprised ojeyele fell to the second round. I think he’s a first round tale t . And being coached by both coach k and Larry brown doesn’t hurt either. IMO Boston got a STEAL. Whatever future trades Boston makes teams are gonna want Ojeyele included in it

r377ParticipantI wasn’t really high on Justin Jackson but now I like him after the tournament. He can shoot and was playing some really good defense which I always like.
Speaking of defense, Jordan Bell 9 block game was a favourite moment for me.
Jarrett Allen, Josh Hart and Ojeleye others I like. Aswell as Bolden, Thornwell and Lessort

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantGotta be Sindarius Thornwell for me, played against him in high school and we have a lot of mutual friends so I got nothing but love for the guy.

Afactor4ParticipantJohn Collins is killin it! Shame that he probably would’ve been a lock for the lotto if he was drafted 10 years ago.

jaysmith1987ParticipantDerrick White, Caleb Swanigan, and Dwayne Bacon are my favorite players outside lottery. I like White because he can shoot and San Antonio is great at developing players. I think Swanigan with his added shooting will be a good player in this league. With Dwayne Bacon I just couldn’t believe this guy wasn’t a dirt round pick. To me it was baffling he has size at around 6’7 and he is athletic and a decent shooter. He basically hurt himself by coming back for his sophomore year even though he improved.

IlladelphParticipantI like IA a lot and was surprised when he dropped to the mid-second round. I think Jarrett Allen, and Tony Bradley are in the same "pick on upside" category, but I think IA is at the same level as those two. I also really like Jarrett Allen, but I torn about who I would have taken first. I probably would have selected Allen first, because I think Allen demonstrated a bit of offense whereas IA I don’t think ever took a 3 point shot. I think Zach Collins should have gone ahead of him based on IA’s absolute lack of mid and long range game. But as a rim protector, defender, and NBA-ready frame, I would have taken him a lot earlier.

Wavy,
What do you think about Dillon Brooks?
Hopefully he plays well for the Grizz. Although he will probably spend a lot of time in the G League.

high floorParticipantHe’s been good this summer league, and given he’s 6’10 with a 7’3 wingspan…. can block shots and hit threes’… he looks like a prospect to keep a close eye on in Milwaukee given Jabari’s injury history
