nowitzki to rockets playing with paul and harden that would be awsome to watch all season.

lowry to pelicans somehow keeping also jrue playing both together with A.Davis and Cousins well could be something.

of course not going to happen

As a Spurs fan, my fantasy free-agent signing is, wait for it …

    James Johnson.

    That’s right, James Johnson.

I’ve done some research and he’s kind of the poor man’s Draymond — bulky enough to play center in a small lineup, but very capable of switching onto smaller, quicker players on the perimeter and containing them. In fact by some advanced metrics he was a top-five perimeter defender last season.

That’s exactly what the Spurs need, and what they didn’t get from LaMarcus Aldridge in the playoffs. Ideally, LaMarcus will work on this all summer and come back as a much better switching defender. But if he doesn’t, or can’t, I think JJ is the guy who can make the Spurs competitive against the Warriors.

He will also presumably cost a lot less than guys that the Spurs are rumored to be interested in, like Lowry or Paul George, so hopefully they can resign Mills and Simmons and not have to trade Green in a salary dump.

I know this sounds crazy, but I’m certain I’m on to something.

i love the james johnson to spurs idea. great fit. team player who has improved his outside shooting and can play the 4 in todays game no problem able to switch guarding the post and perimeter. him and kawhi together at the forward spots would be excellent.

a couple of other low key free agent movements id like to see are the following:

Nicola Mirotic to the Heat. think he’ll fit in much better under Spoelstra than under Fred Hoiberg. definitely an upgrade over Luke Babbit who started a lot for them once Bosh got injured. think his age would make him a better fit with Hassan and Dion who i think will sign back with them.

Kelly Olynyk to the Nets is the other move id like to see happen. i feel he could take over brook lopez’s role on offense. im not expecting him to drop 20 ppg like lopez did last season but with d’angelo there now, he wouldnt have to either. it would be nice to see him as a starter and see how he would produced when he gets starter type minutes consistently.

    Swaggy P to the Clippers.

Who doesn’t want to see him, Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams all on the floor together? They might start up their own game of H-O-R-S-E within an actual NBA game!
