As I got to thinking about the upcoming season I realized this could be one of the most anticipated seasons in recent memory. We had an incredible draft class, whom as of yet we dont know where they all will be playing. We have Kobe finally returning. Duncan Manu and Tony returning to defend the title. And what im really excited for is the MVP race. Of course Durant is the reigning MVP and an obvious fan favorite, but we have great challengers. LeBron and D Rose look poised to make another run both having cant miss storylines leading into the season. LeBron is going home, looing to carry his team back to the top of the eastern conference, while D Rose is making the ultimate comeback from about two seasons away from regular action yet looking as explosive as ever. TWO questions. Which guy do you all think is most poised and motivated for another MVP run? And who would you all like to see win the MVP considering the storylines heading into the season?

I’ve always been a big fan of AD, even though is team won’t make the playoff, well actually who knows if everybody on their team is healthy, we could have a very nice starting 5 (Holiday, Gordon, Evans, AD & Asik…), I think he will have another season +20ppg +10rbds and if they can win some games (35 to 45w) he could be in top3 in this year’s race.

Yeah I wouldn’t count that team out at all, I think with Houston possibly slipping and Ant improving/that roster finally being healthy, they could definitely make the leap that OKC did when KD and Russ got going and Portland did last year

I think he’s more motivated than ever to win the MVP this season and I want to see him win it again.

As long as KD is healthy, he will always be poised and motivated for an MVP run.

I would like to see LeBron get it back.  Durant will be right there though.

Brow, Chris Bosh, Noah, and Marc Gasol are some nice fringe MVP candidates who will get some votes.

Steph Curry, CP3, and Blake will get some first place votes.

I can also see Kobe and Dirk making one last run at the MVP trophy.

The Spurs should have another great year and somebody has to get some MVP consideration so I will make Kawhi Leonard my MVP sleeper candidate.  He could be the best two way player in the league next year behind LeBron James.

I think it will be between Lebron and Rose again. This time, LeBron hasn’t lost popularity. In fact, he’s more popular than ever. I’ll be shocked if LeBron doesn’t get it this year.

The Bulls don’t need Rose to regain his dominating MVP form of a couple of seasons ago; for starters, they just need him to distribute the ball, lead a team that has plenty of quality options. For this, I don’t think he will dominate like he used to do in the sense that he will try to balance attacking the basket more with setting up his teammates. If the Bulls prove to be one of the top teams in the league however (say first or second place in the East) and Rose is the leader on such a team, people still will give him MVP votes based on that alone. Very curious to see if Rose can become this leader, if he can play less reckless like he did and whether he and the Bulls will be effective when he does so.
