GAS FinestParticipantEvan Turner is an outstanding player and will be the 2 player off the board in the draft but why doesnt anyone on this site or anywhere else ever mention the fact that he is averaging 4 turnovers a game? One of the big knocks on John Wall (4.1 turnovers per game) is his turnovers, well Turner is averaging the pretty much the same amount. Should we start knocking him for them as well?

StarbucksSucksParticipantFirst off I am a John Wall fan, but his team is loaded with talent: Bledsoe, Patterson, Cousins. No one said the critique of the freshmen playmaker was a FATAL flaw just an area that needs improvement. Turner is forced to dominate the ball as his teams primary scorer and playmaker his totals are therefore comparable due to the sheer amount of time he handles the ball during gameplay. I haven’t seen too many people “knock” either player as they are both standouts in the college game. Further, I think #2 will be determined by need. If a team finishes poorly (NJ), worst team doesn’t win the lottery (it has happened), and is guard/forward heavy (NJ again) then a ton of different scenarios can fall into place depending on who declares (Whiteside!) and individual workouts. GM’s love potential more than polish (Milicic/Anthony).

chrislebronParticipantan nba ready player thet will contribute immediately
i think that the second spot in the draft is up for grabs between him, cousins and whiteside0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/02/2010 - 7:47am #252618
DanEboyParticipantI agree with Starbucks. I think you have to look at what kind of turnovers he is making. If he has a tendancy to travel a lot that is one thing but if they are passes that his teammates can’t handle scouts see them as passes that NBA players would be able to handle. I would take him 2nd regardless of need.

Toronto16ParticipantI think by the end of the year, Turner will be the hands down #2 pick in the draft, regardless of need.

the I in winParticipantIf whiteside comes out this year he will go second but if not i think it will be turner. like someone said above wall’s turnovers are worse because he is surrounded by talent. Ohio state isn’t terrible but their second best player is william buford who is ok but then it drops off alot.

festar35ParticipantIf Whiteside declares i then think it will come down to team need at the number 2 pick.

mmmistryParticipantTurner should be picked by either the Timberwolves or Nets. I think he can be really good with Harris or Flynn in the backcourt. Both the Nets and Wolves also have a solid young PF/C combination. The nets also have CDR/T-Will/Lee at the SG/SF positions and with Turner can be really dynamic.
