I’ve watched most sixers games this year and I’m not impressed with his game at all. He looks like an Iguadola clone to me, they both have suspect jumpers and weak handles, they both dribble with their head down in traffic. Turner isn’t as athletic as iggy either, I don’t think he will be a bust, but not much upside.

hes gonna be alright. I actually watch the sixers quite a bit becasue im a holiday fan and turner has some legit skills. His jumper is broke as hell but he has the tools to be a very good all around player and he is gaining confidence being more aggressive recently with iggy out of the lineup.

Its 11 games into his rookie season. He didnt look all that good in the preseason either but he will definetly get better.

I have seen some games and it really looks like he has got the freethrow handshake down already so he is ahead of game in that aspect. Now he just needs to focus on other parts of his game.

    Just give him some time

his jumper is pretty messed up, it just looks forced everytime he shoots, and he has no range. He is a very good rebounder though which is rare for a 2 guard, think he has like 13 rebounds tonight.

I’m really not sure what to make of him, he does a little bit of everything, but nothing really well except rebounding, and his defense is alright. He definetily needs to overhaul that jumper though.

I think as soon as he gets more comfortable he is gonna be fine. I think he will be a better player then Iggy. That duo of him and Holliday will be the future to build around they just need some post help.

Both have suspect jumpers, I agree. But weak handles? Both Turner and Iguodala are very good ball-handlers and both can set guys up off the dribble well.

i had expectations of the sixers being a solid team and making the playoffs and they have really let me down. Nobody can consisitenly knock down a jumper other then maybe nocioni. Hawes is weak as hell. Their defense is very sub par for a team loaded with athletes.

they just lost to the Raptors so that tells you everything you need to know. From watching them every game, I can really say they suck, they have no shooters and no inside presence on defense. Other than Turner and Holiday they really need to blow the team up, not even sure who they could draft cause there aren’t many good shooters or legit centers in the draft which is their biggest needs.

Holiday has had some good games this year, but has to cut the turnovers down, he has been a turnover machine of late, he has a huge upside I believe though. Hawes has been a total waste, he gives them nothing at all, especially on the defensive end. I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but they miss Dalembert, they gave him away for nothing. Getting back to Turner, I guess I’m tired of watching shooting guards who cant shoot on this team, if he came out as freshman I’d cut hims some slack, but he played three years in college, there becomes a point when a player is never going to become a shooter, like Iggy. Last weekend the Mavs played zone for them for the entire fourth quarter but couldn’t do nothing because no one could hit a jumper. This is a young team, but you have to be able to win more then two games after playing this many games so far.

They are  really missing Dalembert lol. Also with Turner being close to what Iggy is and cheaper, Philly should just trade Iggy.  Also what happened to Hawes.  I always wondered why he did not play more in Sacracmento even though he did put up some solid numbers from time to time.  Why doesn’t Speights play more.  A jumper can be worked on but I don’t think Turner will be a better player than Iggy but  I think he can be a better fit for Philly and key to their rebuilding effort going forward.

I’m not saying that Turner is going to be a bust and he still has a chance to become a really good player, but I’m really dissapointed in him because everybody was saying that he was the most "NBA-ready" player and that he would be able to make a big contribution for his team right off the bat. Well it’s been the other way around, because the coaches have to bring him along slowly, not starting the first couple of games. I can’t believe that before the draft, that some people were arguing that he should be drafted ahead of John Wall at #1. I guess nobody’s saying that now.

I went into the year thinking that Philly still didn’t have the shooters, but at least Doug Collins will get them to defend and play as a team. Well, they can’t shoot and don’t defend. How bad an offensive team are they that against Toronto everyone other than Elton Brand shot 23-68 from the field? At home!

Turner will be fine, but that is a team that apparently still needs to bottom out. They’ll change the mix, and a team can do much worse than have Evan Turner as part of the rebuilding process.

They definitely don’t have weak handles. I never believed Evan Turner would be a star, but he will be fine in time. He is getting good experience right now and he does too many things well not to be a contributor. What I love is the fact that despite his early struggles he is averaging just under 7 rpg from the wing position. Also a credit to him is the fact that he has dealt with taking his licks in the past. He wasn’t an immediate star at OSU and had to fight his way into that. He is a guy who will continue to work and improve his efficiency as he adjusts to the NBA game.

I’d cut Turner more slack if he only played a year of colleg, but as others have said he was supposed to be the most "ready" player from the draft, and its far from the truth. I still say he doesn’t have a great handle, he has been stripped a few times in the backcourt, and has scored many baskets driving to the basket. His handle reminds me exactly of Iggys, both seem to dribble with their head down when they drive to the basket in a half court set, and causes them to take wild shots or get caught in the air and then make a bad pass. I’d love to get trade Iggy, but I don’t see many teams wanting to take his contract, if they do get rid of him I think they will get hardly anything in return, like what they got for Dalembert. To me Iggy is an athlete who plays basketball, not a basketball player, he don’t have a high bball IQ, and you can’t tell he didn’t grow up playing on the playground or spend his time being a gym rat.
