Once again playing big in the playoffs:

Tonight’s stat line for game 1:

    7-7 FG, 15pts, 6rebs, 4ast, in only 18mins

Somebody is going to pay this guy big money, regardless of if he’s really a full time starting PG or not.

He’s still under contract with the Clips for at least another yr after this one. He still could maybe find his way to ORL should they pursue him. ORL could probably swap one of their SFs for him.

Great idea, that way they could draft a guy like Noel instead of wasting a high pick on Burke, who’s good but not a #1 / #2 type of pick.

Bledsoe – Afflalo – Harkless or Harris – Noel – Vucevic

Noel and Vucevic would complement each other very well.

Both Harkless and Harris have shown that they have potential.

I’d try to trade Afflalo instead of Harkless or Harris. If I had to trade one of them though, it would easily be Harris.

You are too much Orlando-sided in your predictions.
The fact that the clips need a 3 does not mean they will accept any 3 in return for bledsoe.
This year they have Butler, Barnes and Hill at the 3. Hill is leaving at the end of the year.
But they still will have Butler and Barnes, whereas besides chris Paul at the 1 they only have the ageing injury-friendly Billups.
Actually they need Bledsoe more than a 3.
The problem for them is: Bledsoe is starting PG caliber. Butler is good but ageing.
In fact what they will want is not a 3 but a package of a starting caliber 3 and a decent backup 1 in exchange for Butler and Bledsoe.
And neither Harkless nor Harris is better than Butler today. The clips have a good team now, they want players who can help them right away.

The only way for Orlando to land Bledsoe is by trading this year’s pick. It depends on the lottery but I think that if Orlando does not get #1 or #2 , they should do it, after all: Bledsoe is way better than Trey Burke!

In my opinion: a three-team deal that could work: -Bledsoe to Orlando.
-Butler the draft pick to Portland.
-Batum and Eric Maynor to the clips.

I don’t think sending Afflalo/Harris to LA for Bledsoe is too one-sided, especially if it’s Harris who is getting traded. Also, it’s not just a one-for-one, there would be other stuff involved as well.

Utah and Bledsoe would still be a great fit. I think’s it’s safe to say Paul isn’t leaving the Clips, a 56-win team with a young superstar in Blake who will only improve.

That said, the Jazz will only have Hayward, Favors, Kanter, Burks and Marvin Williams (PO, will probably accept) under contract for next season, which doesn’t give them much trade bait, but they also have the #14 and #21 picks in the draft.

Would the Clips do Bledsoe for 14 and 21?

There’s no need to explain this for the Jazz. They have four core future starters, with PG being the missing piece.

The Clips, should they accept, can then add two more productive young players at positions that need it more. Paul plays 34 minutes a game. They might not land a star in this draft, but they can definitely add depth at key positions such as SG, SF and C. At those three positions alone you have Butler (32), Barnes (32), Billups (36), Green (31), Hill (40) and Turiaf (30). Let’s get some new life in there. With those two first rounders, Clips could add, say, CJ McCollum and Jeff Withey…thoughts?

There’s no way the Clippers accept a deal of 14 and 21 in a week draft for Bledsoe. They need a young SF in return.

bledsoe is actually an unrestricted free agent he can get a sign an trade or the clips can match the offer another team gives him but its not likely the clippers match any offer because of the chris paul max extension coming up which essentially makes Bledsoe a free agent believe me he won’t be a clipper next year unless chris paul leaves.

No he isnt going to be a UFA after this season. This is only his 3rd year and Clips already exercised his 4th year option before this season.

He’s definitely a nice back up plan if they cant resign Chris Paul. I think he’s better off as a sixth man type though. Nobody can match Paul as a PG, floor leader, all that intangible stuff. Really seems like the clippers underachieve based on all of the talent they have on the roster. If I was Phil Jackson, that would be the job I’d be after if Paul does resign. Having Del Negro coach that team is like letting a 15 year old kid drive Marcin Gortat’s M5.

You two up there clearly don’t know what restricted/unrestricted free agency is. He will be a RESTRICTED free agent after this season. Meaning the Clippers can match any deal offered to him. If he was an unrestricted free agent he could sign with a team out-right without the Clippers being able to retain him or get anything back for him unless it were a sign-and-trade deal.

No, you clearly don’t know how long a rookie contract lasts. This is his third yr. Rookie contracts are 4 yrs long if all the options are exercised. Bledsoe’s 4th yr option has already been exercised, meaning he will NOT be a restricted FA after this season. He came in the same class as Wall, Cousins, Favors, etc. Where’s the talk of their impending FA? There isn’t any because they will NOT be FAs after this season, RFA or UFA.

Because of all the trade talk surrounding Bledsoe everyone just assumes he will be a free agent this off season. He will not be an RFA until 2014. He probably will be traded by then unless Paul would decide to leave the Clippers for some reason.

Some people think he’s better suited for a backup PG role, but I do really believe that if he get’s thrown into the fire as a starting PG, he will be solid, and from there it will depend on his hardwork and understanding of the game to see if he can reach his full potential.

The Clippers know they would have little chance to resign Bledsoe next year unless CP3 has already left opening up the starting job for him. If the Magic were to offer a package of Afflalo and Harkless/Harris they’d be wise to take it. Afflalo would give them a good starting SG and an immediate upgrade over Green while either Harkless or Harris would give them some youth, versatility and energy at forward. Much better than losing a young guy like Bledsoe for nothing.

The Clippers will trade Bledsoe this offseason but not for an overpaid Afflalo. They will be looking for a high lotto pick in this yrs draft and considering that Trey Burke is the top PG prospect in this yr draft, there’s no doubt a team like the Pelicans who have had a hard on for Bledsoe since the Paul trade would happily trade their lotto pick for him. While this draft stinks after Noel & McLemore their still young bigs like Zeller and Len that would solidly the C position for the Clips since DJ has yet to show he’s worthy starter or finisher since he can’t make FT to save his life. Turiaf, Odom, Hollins, Thompkins are all FA this offseason so the Clips will need depth at C more than any other position. A player like Zeller would do wonder for Blake as team wouldn’t be able to double him anymore because unlike DJ Zeller does have an offensive game that can hurt u.
