Seems like a number of bigs on rookie contracts are starting to emerge. If you had to rank the following post players on current in-game effectiveness & statistical upside, how would your list turn out? For example, I think Dieng and Plumlee impact the game "today" a little more than Gobert. But Gobert’s upside is so high that he warrants a higher ranking for the purpose of this post. Keep in mind I like all these guys including the ones on the bottom of the list.

Rudy Gober: The Stifle Tower! He’s a beast & an intimidating compliment to Favors on D.

Mason Plumlee: Once Lopez is traded he’ll be a nightly double-double with good defense.

Nerlens Noel: In Jay Bilas’ words he is a "defensive savant." Can he develop a go to move?

Gorgui Dieng: His game is really nice. Has a good feel for the game in the post. Nice touch.

Alex Len: More athletic than I thought. Could be higher on this list with sustained health.

Meyers Leonard: Good talent, good range, good size. Does he float on perimeter too much?

John Henson: Hardest one to rank. Potential game changer on D. Inconsistency though

    *Feel free to disagree.

    1. Mason Plumlee- Does what a lot of other people on this list don’t do: stay healthy. Does he have the most potential? Heck no, but he produces.

    2. Nerlens Noel- his skinny frame scares the heck out of me. It’s like watching a 6’10 runway model bang in the post. I’m afraid he is going to break and break often. However, he has ridiculous timing for blocked shots and is mobile enough to be a great pick and roll defender.

    3. Rudy Gobert- The Jazz placed their frontcourt firmly in Favors and Kanters hands when they let go Jefferson and Millsap. It didn’t take long for Rudy to say, "F this" and take a spot for himself. I am really interested to see what he can do offensively with a few years of development in him, but at the very least, he is a reliable defensive anchor.

    4. Meyers Leonard- I def will get some dissagreements here, but I love Meyers. He just came out too early because his family needed the moeny. Now that he has had some time to develop, he is showing a lot of promise offensively. He can shoot jumpshots, shoot 3’s, right handed baby hooks and is willing to slash and dunk by using his athletisism. Stuck in a very good Portland frontcourt.

    5. Dieng- Underrated mid range shooter, shot blocker and defender. I don’t believe in his potential as much as some other people, but I have to admit that his floor is pretty high!

Rudy – Knows what his skill set is , think that playing for france has helped him out a ton, will continue to develop will always have a spot on any team

Alex – Perfect for this suns team , sets picks great runner soft hands getting better on D, if he stays healthy should contintue upwards development

Mason – Double double knows his worth – Would like to see him develop sometime of outside touch. Needs a special type of big man to play with . Only reason he is not number one

Noel – Still learning very raw great defender ( wish he would stop gambling on blocks often the man he guards gets easy put in )

Meyers baby!!! Hes in or above Plumlee athletically and a far better shooter. Once he gets out of LaMarcus Aldridge shadow watch out.

Len is the only one who can score inside with traditional post moves, Leonard is the only one with an outside shot.  Gobert is the best.  They are all really good.

Rudy Gobert – Obviously the size, but has skills and can play. In the Rookie Challenge game, dribbling the ball up the floor and then into the paint was a highlight. When point guards work with him well, and maybe Exum for the Jazz is doing that more, Gobert can be great rolling to the basket.  Might be a more athletic Eaton in the paint for Utah.

Alex Len – Last year, only a few minutes but some potential was shown. Now, despite the guards who score a lot, Len has been able to have some games when he can work with the ball.  Size and strength and someone to score in playoff basketball.

Meyers Leonard – Looks to have learned a lot from Aldridge, and a big surprise with how much range Leonard has.  They may have drafted him to be a center but Leonard might be closer to a power forward game like Dirk, or Aldridge.

Mason Plumlee – Rebound and blocks, and knows his range so scores at 60% with lots of dunks.

John Henson – Just takes a while for Milwaukee to figure out how useful he can be.  When Sanders retires or goes somewhere else, and when Zaza is kept in a bench role, Henson could be a player ranked among the best defensive centers.  In college, his offense seemed underrated too, but Bucks don’t give him many shots.

Nerlens Noel – Hard to figure out what the 76ers can do, but he should become a power forward who gets a lot of blocks and steals, and then moves to center and outruns his opponent.

Gorgui Dieng – Offense might be a bit clunky, and sometimes he doesn’t look big enough to play center.  Blocks shots and helps his team, so T-Wolves have a good asset on their roster.

Len intrigues me the most. He’s only scratching the surface of his potential. Great hands, quick feet, surprising touch and improving feel for the game. Potential to be a two-way force down the line.

Gobert is just huge and a surprising good athlete for his size. His length makes him a terror on the defensive end but he’ll always be limited offensively. His ceiling is a souped up version of Tyson chandler IMO.

Plumlee might be the best player of the bunch right now. He doesn’t have much shooting touch but is a freak athlete who runs the floor about as well as any big I’ve seen.

Noel and Henson both project as defensive specialists to me. Neither is strong enough to bang in the post, but they can cause terror from the weakside with their length and athleticism. The downside is that neither will give you much offensively.

I like dieng a lot and his game has improved drastically since college. However, I’m not sure how much better he’s going to get at this stage.

Leonard has a great shooting touch but has kind of shown an unwillingness to mix it up inside for a player with his bulk and athleticism.

You could also throw guys like Cody Zeller , kelly olynk on this list.

1T. Alex Len – more polished scorer than Gobert.

1T. Rudy Gobert – great shotblocker

    3. Mitch McGary (if he can stay healthy) remember he was a late lotto pick by most of us at the start of his last ncaa season. Built like a bull, sets wicked screens – should be a double double machine if he can stay healthy…

    4. Dieng – ceiling may not be high but he should be starting over Pek.

    5. Jursuf Nurkic

    6. Mason Plumlee – think he might be a bit too overrated by some users on here. Unspectacular 4 yr college career, has been given alot of chances due to Broken Lopez always being injured.

    7. John Henson – liked him alot in college, just needs more time. I don’t know why they don’t play him more.

    8. Cody Zeller – slowly developing as the minutes increase. good bball iq – not a shot blocker

    9. Kelly Olynyk

    10. Nerlens Noel – injury risk

    11. Steven Adams (solid but unspectacular pest)
