I keep reading post about how Embiid is injured and might miss the whole season but all I read/hear from Embiid, Hinkie and even Bill Self is that there is no new injury.

Here’s a direct quote from Hinkie: "He feels really good. That’s part of what makes this – maybe confusing’s the right word – confusing for him, he [Embiid] is symptom-free."

Read that, Embiid is symptom free and has even said he feels great.  What had happened was they took a CT scan before clearing him for the summer league and the surgeon  decided that hasn’t healed as much as he’d like to see before clearing him. The Sixers are holding him back as a precaution as not to rush him back like OKC did with Durant.

Here’s what Embiid himself had to say about the situation: "I can’t believe how good I feel. I felt great for a while.’ It seems hard to believe someone could be wrong." Does that sound like an injured player who might miss the whole season?

The Sixers are just being super cautious, and given how well their medical and training staff did with Noel I’m inclined to trust their judgment

i think it was just that his foot hadnt healed as much as they thought, That doesnt mean hes going to miss another year it would just mean they will need to continue nursing his foot back to full health. By makign sure they dont push him to hard and too early in the pre season

Sam Hinkie would knee cap one of his own players if it meant he could get another 2nd round player. Plot spoiler: he takes a center.

The Sixers have become a pet peeve of mine – not how they have magaed their 2 year rebuild – when you pull back the cover & do some research, you find that what their GM Hinkie has Already accomplished in ONLY 26 months is quite remarkable… But my irritation is w/ fans who leave it to national media outlets like espn to spoon feed them nonsense & these fans just eagerly swallow it down without Fact checking Anything…

First, why are the Media attacking Phila??? Minnesota, in the coming 2016 season will be working on their TENTH consecutive losing season! A 10 year rebuild, yet not a peep of criticism… Sacremento will ALSO be celebrating their TENTH straight losing season- & to celebrate this train wreck of a franchise & the 10tf year of their rebuild they shipped Phila their 2014 #1 pick Nick Stauskus who was the # 8 overall Lottery pick AND they also gave Philly Swap right for TWO years!!! & what did they get in return?? Salary cap relief – so they could sign a few players who were other team’s trash! LOL! After 10 UCKing years – THAT is Sac-town’s new Rebuilding plan… It’s ok though b/c I’m sure the National Sports Media exscoriated the inept Kings – WRONG, not a Single word about it – not a Peep!?!?!? How about Milwaukee, everybody’s Rebuild darling! Let’s talk about their rebuild, they have ONE winning season (a 46 win season in 09-10′) in the last DOZEN years! That’s some Rebuild baby! One winning season in 12 years – TWELVE!!! hahaha… Where is the anger??? Where are the Snarky remarks??? The clever sarcasm?? I can go on & on… Utah, Orlando, Charlotte just to name a few, but there are more franchises who have Literally done nothing for Years upon years, rebuilding in perpetuity & not a Single word of criticism is said about it… The Knicks attempted to imitate Hinkie’s plan & Phil Jackson was praised. I can’t tell you how many times I read or head "Well based on the circumstances, what else was Phil supposed to do?" Really??? They still had Carmelo, a super star, why would they dismantle the Entire team & Blatantly Tank the entire season & I ‘m still waiting for the 1st criticism of Jackson… But compare wherre the Knicks were & it was appaerantly just fine for them to Tank the year & where Phila was Two years ago: they lost their Two best players, Igudola & Vucevic & THREE 1st round picks for Bynum who was coming off his 4th str8 year of good health & his Best year (20 & 12)… Bynum Never played in 2013, Phila coddled him, begged him, constantly pushing back the dates for his return to the court, first he was going to play in January, then February & then March… Experts believed that the Sixers would contend for a Title w/ Bynum but when he Still failed to suit up by March it became obvious that he had Zero intention playing… He never did & that Franchise was in essence DESTROYED… Doug Collins on the verge of a nervous breakdown b/c he gambled Everything on that Bynum deal, quit b/c he could not handle the weight of gambling the team’s future & Losing….

Hinkie takes over weeks before the 2013 Draft, after the DIsaster 2013 season of 34 wins the Sixers have the #11 pick but b/c of the Bynum trade they have NO 1st round pick in 2015 AND 2017… They have NO Carmelo Anthony or any other Star players… They have 3 aveage at best 6’5” NBA vets as their nucleus: Evan Turner, Thad Young & Jrue Holiday locked into Long term deals… So funny guy, you are the GM, what do you do? Based on their needs & their win total we can assume that had Hinkie kept those 3 players he would have drafted Steve Adams in 2013 & Doug McDermott in 2014… Are you seriously telling me that you would rather have a starting Five of Turner, Young, Holiday, Adams & McDermott w/ NO 1st round pick sin 2015 or 2017??? Really??? You write ridiculous nonsene like "spolier, they draft a center…"

In 2013 they did NOT draft a center, they drafted MCW – they traded Jrue Holiday & recieved Nerlens Neol, Dario Saric & got their 2017 1st round pick back. They were lucky to get Noel, he was the ABSOLUTE #1 propect but w/ a torn ACL he slid & Phila got LUCKY. They gave New Orleans a list w/ 3 names: Oladipo, Porter & Noel. If any one of those 3 fell to # 6 where New Orleans was picking then Hinki egave the Green light to make the deal. Miraculously the 6’11” human Pogo stick fell to # 6 & Hinkie Wisely pulled the trigger on the deal (I’d say that was about as great a trade as you can make for an Average, injury prone pg)…

In 2014, Embiid was considered the best prospect of the last decade & Cleveland was 100% tahing him at # 1… Phila was locked in on Wiggins at # 3…. Every scout, ex player, talent evaluator & expert said it was a THREE player draft: Parker, Wiggins & Embiid would all be stars w/ Embiid being considered a future Super star, but NO ONE else in that Draft was thought to be Anything else but a decent starter AT BEST… After a pre draft workout & w/ Cleveland’s brass slobbering all over Embiid, Cleveland doctors find the bone in Embiid’s foot. They still say they can take him but he’ll miss a year. Cleveland passed on Noel – Foolishly – one year earlier & took Anthony Bennet. They feel they can’t the negative publicity of possibly screwing up another # 1 pick so they take Wiggins, by this point knowing they will trade him anyway w/ Lebron on his way… Phila picking at # 3 takes Embiid & they are thrilled to have him… But for the people criticizing who should have they taken instead??? No one drafted after Embiid in that top 10 did Anything!!! As experts predicted it was a 3 prospect draft… Embiid will miss another year but if he returns healthy it will sound the same as all the criticism of them trading for Noel – all these same morons said Noel would never play – "Greg Oden 2.0 was posted 10,000 times about Noel – where are those people now???

In 2015 they we NOT even supposed to have a pick but Hinkie, in just over a year went from possessing NO picks in 2015 & 2017 & One each in 2014 & 2016 to TWO 1st rnd picks in 2014, a Lottery pick in 2015, FOUR 1st round picks in 2016 & TWO picks each in 2017, 2018 & 2019… By all accounts they wanted Russel w/ the #3 pick… The Lakers took him at # 2 – so what should Phila do when Okafor, a 6’11” 275 stud who is refered to as Tim Duncan 2.0 falls to them at # 3??? Not take BY FAR the best player left on the board b/c they already have Two Stud 7 footers??? Are all you dopes on the Spurs web site criticizing them for having Three 7 footers on that roster??? Of course not b/c espn did not criticize that & all you people are sheep… You thinkPortland wished they could go back & get a "do over’ at the 2007 NBA Draft when they took Greg Oden over Kevin Durant b/c they listened to the idiots who said, They drafted Aldridge in 2006, they Have to take Oden… it was STUPID!!! You think Portland wished they could get a "re-do" of the 1984 Draft when they took Sam Bowie over Michael JORDAN b/c the talking heads said they can’t take Jordan, they already have Clyde Drexler… There are Dozens of other examples… When a team has a top 5 Lottery pick you NEVER draft for position – you draft the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE… So before you hrul this mindless cticism do some research & give thinking for yourself based on real evidence… And if you want to criticize that’s fine, but let’s here your alternative plan… Tell us all what they should have done Differently???

There’s only 30 franchises in the NBA. And one of them is being wasted by Philly. The league would have been better off without them for this 5 year period.

        It’s a bad look

        It’s bad for business

        It’s bad basketball.

        It’s just bad bad bad.

When my team plays Philly…I simply don’t want to watch.

Shifting blame to other franchises only makes it worse…

Not really. Okafor was by far the best player available and it’s no where near as bad a fit as people say. There are 96 minutes a game between PF and center. Embiid was never going to play more than 30 minutes/g this season and probably not on back to back nights, the Sixers plan to ease him slowly into things this year. That leaves 66 minutes for Noel and Okafor to split, 33 each.

On defence Noel will play C and Okafor PF on offense they will switch with Okakor playing center. Also Noel is quick enough to guard many SF in this leauge so you might see limited situations where all three are on the court for 5-10 minutes. Okafor at C, Embiid at PF and Noel at SF.

I just hope that Embiid is healthy and can play next season, we’ll leave it up to the 76ers coaching staff to sort the rotation out.

This is exactly what people need to see. Not some beat writer’s crazy tweet because he needs to drum up more action for his page. This is a thing that can happen when you have surgery, and we knew the 76ers would be cautious with Embiids return.
