paradigmnParticipantLooks like Eddy Curry might be taking his appetite to South Beach next year…http://www.ridiculousupside.com/2011/6/28/2247992/miami-heat-free-agent-eddy-curry-greg-smith-matt-janning-julyan-stone#storyjump….If he can get into good shape, and thats a big "IF", I like what he might be able to bring to the table and I’m not talking about his hunger for food. Then again who am I kidding, we are talking about Eddy Curry after all.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI thought Riley said he wanted to get younger, faster, and more athletic, this sounds like a step backwards from that.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantI think what you’re trying to say is Eddy Curry had a heart attack from too much mcdonalds then died for a couple seconds. Now he is alive and he wants mcdonalds again.

Cincinatti BowtiesParticipantEven if he gets in good shape Curry isn’t hungry for rebounds, blocks or defense, which is exactly what Miami needs from its starting center. They hardly use Bosh as a low post scorer so I don’t think Curry would get a lot of touchs. He is slow, cant run the break, and is a bad defender when in shape. Plus his work ethic, heart and attitude have been constantly questioned since he got in the NBA. He will have a lot of work to do if he wants to change the perception people have of him. If he puts in the work I think he could be a solid player again, but I dont think Miami is a good fit.

JJeff6ParticipantEddy Curry is done. The only shot he has at even a garbage role now would MAYBE (and thats a big maybe) Houston. Chuck Hayes is a 6-6 center and everyone knows how that cant be a good solution, and Yao is gone (not that he even ever helped anyway these past few years) and Jordan Hill has yet to really show anything in the NBA. Thabeet is going to be in the D League for a while and he will end up being a bust. Im thinking Curry could make this team as a 3rd big and maybe play minutes where his team is up 20 with 3 minutes to go or down 20 with 3 minutes to go. Sorry big Ed, ur time has run out.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantHis low post scoring will be a big help..Thats good when teams play zone against them..This might be his last chance at a nba job..He will be only 29 in december…I expect Pittman to play a bigger role with the Heat next year..But Seeing what Curry has to offer doesnt hurt…

dodgerParticipantHistorically, Pat Riley has a lot of success with centers. Granted most came to him with better skills and overall health then Curry, I think there is a possibility that Curry finds a niche in the second unit. The center position is no longer strong so you can really get by with average performances for small stretches.

JoeWolf1I heard he wasn’t brought into play. He is going to be a nutritional mentor to Chris Bosh. Riley felt that Bosh’s skinny frame was pushed around too easily in the playoffs and that bringing in a vet like Curry could give him some eating tips to help add girth to his frame. Curry even presented Bosh with a 5 gallon bucket of gravy and the first 4 seasons of The West Wing on DVD to get Bosh’s off season weight gain program started off right.

TyroberParticipantEddy Curry will get a basketball job somewhere. His paychecks aren’t coming anymore and he desperately needs money. Remember all those pay advances last year he was asking for? The guy is completely broke

MuggsyParticipantI don’t think he’s the answer or a good fit for Miami, but I think he deserves a spot on a roster somewhere.

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantI have to say that Eddy Curry as far as I know is a good guy. He had some terrible things happen to him including the murder of his young son. But he still is a rather lazy and an emotionally immature person.
From what I understood LeBron James told him to stay in shape as soon as he was bought out he would join the Heat. He showed up weighting in at 375 pound wihich is almost 100 pounds heavier than his playing weight. He was a definite addition to thier playoff roster had he showed up even in descent shape. I don’t understand why he could not or would not allow LeBron to help him. The offer was there…..
So it seems Curry has some real issues that he cannot overcome, they are probably emotional issues that need adressing and never have been. It could be the need for medication or just a father figure. He played best under Thomas with the Knicks becuase Thomas did provide a father figure and crutch for Eddy emotionally. D’Antoni who I dislike did not and probably did more damage to a very already fragile person.
Curry is his worst enemy but it’s obvisous he needs help, whether it was offered, how it was offered and if he accepted or not we really don’t know but the fact is this man needs help.

M-DYMESParticipantI am envisioning Eddy Curry as the Jenny Craig of the NBA.
Signs with the Heat and South Beach diet program.
We start seeing commercials of Eddy Curry endorsing South Beach Diets in a spoof of "The Decision"…as in the decision to lose weight.
Heat fanatics begin to track his success, but the Heat lose to in the Finals again to the Mavericks after Dirk is caught seducing him with a Bratwurst and a Das Boot.
