This years race for playoff spots in the eastern confernce is insanely close and on days like these where so many teams play it can turn everything on its head.

Indiana who are currently in the 5 seed holds only a 4 game advantage on Charlotte who are the 12th best team in the east currently.

all it takes for one team to slide in or out is a small losing streak of say 3-4 games and they can end up 4-5 spots down the ladder. for example orlando is on a 4 game losing streak and they went from having a full games lead on boston to hold the 8th seed to suddenly being in 11th place behind the wizards and knicks.

For me i think the seeds 1-3 are going to stay the way they are now till the end of the season being:

    1.Cleveland 2. Toronto 3. Atlanta

however i think that it is within reason for any team currently in the race to get as high as the 4th seed in the east as chicago had been struggling lately and with a number of resurgent teams (washington getting beal back and finally getting healthy, Detroit playing great ball behind drummond and morris and boston somehow beating opponent after opponent)

Now i know that the Western confernce is still the stronger conference (thnx to gsw, sa and okc) but the argument can be made that the west is top heavy and that after the first four teams are signifcantly weaker than the east from slots, say 5-12.

anyway my predictions on how the eventual order is going to be is as follows:

    1.Cleveland

    2.Toronto

    3.Atlanta

    4.Chicago

5.Washington (I am a wizards fan so take this one with a grain of salt)

    6.Indiana

    7.Detroit

    8.Miami

Sorry to all you celtics, magic knicks and hornets fans but i think that you will have your time in the next season as these teams are all on the rise and just dont have a leader (Melo obviously for ny but shhhh)

So there you go sorry for the long post but i thought id just address the situation since i havent seen many people post about this not gonna beg for people not to neg me because everyones been whining about people giving negs so im just gonna leave that.

Anyway how do you think the playoff hunt is gonna turn out? (And i swear if someone  somehow comments about either philly or how  ben simmons would be the best fit for their team…..)

Actually the pistons are tied with the Indiana Pacers for the 5th spot.

    Spot on list

I agree with you about the Magics, I think the Tobias Harris signing isn’t living up to the hype at the very moment. Ditto for the Aaron Gordon, and Mario Herzonja signing.

Hornets are not having the season some anticipated.  MKG still hasn’t touched the floor, and Al Jefferson has been injury prone.

As for the Knicks, Anthony/Porzingis combo is a good combo but that all they have, still missing that PG and Center.

The wizards back tracked so far this season, but John wall is playing very well. Bradley Beal has potential, but NEEDS TO STAY HEALTHY!! I really do not like the Gortat/NENE combo they need a stretch 4 who can let NENE post up, and not crowd the paint. Losing paul pierce hurt because he brought that winning/competitive calibur to the team. Still potential to sneak in the playoffs tho, a trade away

I got Boston getting in somewhere between the 6th and 8th seed. I think they pull out close games very well and get those couple extra wins pushing the Wizards or Detroit or Indiana out. 6 through 8 is going to be so close all year. The Heat move up to 5th seed.

I personally think Miami drop out due to age and injury. We are not even half way and look how many games Dragic, Wade, Whiteside have missed. Bosh and Deng aren’t spring chickens either….

In the West, did anyone see that the Kings are currently in 8th spot !!!

The opposite reason is why I think the Celtics make it in… youth and depth, which will mean more as the season wears on
