    1. Arizona

    2. Kentucky

    3. Wisconson

    4. Duke

    5. Florida

    6. North Carolina

    7. Kansas

    8. Uconn

    9. SMU

    10. Texas

Kentucky is the most deep, but I think Zona will cut the nets down in 2015. What are your early college basketball top 10s?

I hate to say it, but I gotta go with Kentucky again. I also like UCLA too.

I think Nick Johnson will be tough to replace at Arizona so they will slide.

Wisconsin will be tough and Kaminsky is my player of the year nominee

I.would.Go Wisconsin number 1.  They bring back everyone.except Ben brust. They are absolutely stacked and I.would.pick kaminsky as the preseason national player of the year.  Love what.bo Ryan has done in Madison.  They get duke at.home.for.the acc/big ten challenge.and.that place.is going.to be rocking.

I think Wisconsin missed their shot last year to win it all. They would’ve beat uconn no doubt in my opinion.

uk/zona seems likely to meet in the championship game. I’d go with uk based on them having a 1st and 2nd string worth of 1st rd picks. Though I think Sean Miller would coach circles around calipari.

also watch out for Illinois in the big ten. Had 6 newcomers last year. Those guys come back along with Leron Black, Aaron Cosby and shot blocking machine nanna Egwu. Illinois and San Diego State are my dark horse final four teams.

Sean Miller to coach circles around Calipari? lol

can you remind everyone here how many Final four appearances Miller has?

      Calipari is still criminally underrated.

wow, even when he wins, theres excuses people make up to keep discrediting him.

the guy’s coaching track record speak for itself.

dont say someone who’s never made the final four, will coach circles around John Calipari who’s making it to the final four 3 out of the last 4 years. not to mention at Umass and Memphis.

did what? beat him in the regular season?..okay, cool.

bringing up a regular season loss to try to discredit Coach Cal is just ignorant.

              3 National Championship appearances.

              1 National Championship win.

              5 Finals Fours.

Apparently I don’t have authority to edit my own posts.  But to continue you talk about his final four appearences at UMass and Memphis…that went over well for both universities right?  (vacated wins and probations).

The point is on paper UK should be the best team next season they only have 9 former mcdonalds all-americans on their team.  However, to say that a coach can’t outcoach another based on coaching pedigree is just a fallacy.  Coach K got outcoached throughout the season, Jimmy B, Rick Pitino, Roy Williams, etc (the ACC is stacked with the greats).  All great coaches get outcoached from time to time.

vacated or not…he still lead Umass and Memphis to a final four. lead Memphis to a National title game (and was a free throw away from winning the game)

well yeah, anybody can get outcoached on any day…my problem was ‘ ihateusernames’  predicting Miller will outcoach him like he’s light years ahead of Calipari in coaching. Basically predicting a coach, who never made a final four, will outcoach someone who’s made 3 National title game appearances, coming off a runner up the year before, and acually has a ring.

Coach Calipari continues to get underrated by many. he deserves some respect by now for the work he’s done throughout hs career.

i think kansas is going to shock everyone and end up in the top 3.  cliff alexander, perry ellis, kelly oubre, wayne seldon and frank mason are a good mix of youth but have experience.  and there bench is pretty legit…hunter milkerson started a bunch of games for arkansas before transferring; gives good size.  traylor is a servicable role player.  greene and frankamp come off of decent freshmen years.  and devonte graham is another recruit that had offers from ncstate, virginia, virginia tech and providence.  solid pg out of prep school.  and landen lucas and andrew white were both 90+ rated recruits that are heading into their jr years…

It would be an upset if Kentucky fails to win the title this year.

The Harrison Twins with all those bigs?  The team is LOADED, and several guys are back from that epic tourney run.

I will put Duke and Kansas at 2 and 3.

SMU looks like a 4 seed no one wants to play (tough conference with UConn, Memphis, and Cincy).

    My sleeper team is Gonzaga.

Memphis lost four senior guards, but we are bringing some good talent back.  I think we could get a decent seed for once in the Josh Pastner Era.  This could be the year we get to the second weekend.  Won a tourney game last year with several good regular season victories.

Right now, it looks like we COULD get a Kentucky vs. Duke title game.  Two heavyweight programs with the two most recognizable coaches in college (any level of basketball?), with some really good big men on both sides.

I am a little skeptical of the Florida love.  I wasn’t that impressed with Hill when I saw him in HS.  The potential is there, but he couldn’t run a half court set to save his life, hope he proves me wrong.  The team as a whole has a lot of unproven players.

To the post about Gonzaga, good call!  They are a  team I would not like in my bracket next season.

    1.  UK
    2.  Wisconsin
    3.  Arizona
    4.  UNC
    5.  Duke
    6.  Kansas
    7.  Wichata State
    8.  Villanova
    9.  Texas
    10a.  Gonzaga
    10b.  Virginia

IMHO one could interchange number 1-6 with a good argument, then there is the next tier.  Should be a fun season!

    @Juves, Andrew White recently transferred.

Ku should improve this year.  Wayne Selden played with a bum knee all year and did not show explosiveness that you can see in some of his mixtapes.  I expect him make a big jump.

Also,  Frankamp might be the starting PG on the team.  He lead TEAM USA in points on a team with Tyus and Jahlil a couple summers ago and was one of Kansas’ players who actaully played well in their two tourney games.  He is a great shooter and steady with the ball.  His floor spacing is essential for the Kansas team that has so many great penetrators and post players in Oubre, Selden, Alexander, and Ellis.

Also, Bill Self loves his rim protectors and Hunter Mickleson should provide a lot of that.  He had a great freshman year and then a bad sophomore year.  A year under KU’s training staff will greatly improve his game and I think the big rotation of Traylor, Ellis, Alexander, and Mickleson compliment eachother very well as they all bring different things.

    My top 5 is:

1)Kentucky–Huge lineup, plus media loves giving this program all the hype

2)Wisconsin–Returning everyone, Kaminsky should only improve.  Look for Koenig to become their primary perimeter playmaker and scorer.  Also, Hayes will improve and be a great compliment to Kaminskey’s finesse game.

3)Duke–The ESPN hype machine will love these guys.  They are stacked with 5* talent.  They also finally have a post player in Okafor that Duke hasn’t had in a while along with a true point guard.  Its safe to say that spacing will not be an issue with all the shooters as well

4)Arizona–Tarz will have a big year.  A legit 7 footer not many teams have.  Plus Stanley Johnson will be able to fill the whole Aaron Gordon left

    5)Kansas–Read above

I don’t know if zona is the best team, but I do think they could be a little better this coming season then they were last year.

They lose nick Johnson who was there MVP and Arron Gordon who brought some great skills but also was a terrible shooter and hurt the wildcats from the ft line many times. And nick was a little overrated because he was the best player on one of America’s best team. In reality, as an individual, he was just a really solid player not irreplaceable at all.

But they bring back traczewski who should be improved. Brandon Ashley who they lost midseason. He was a starter and double digit scorer and one of their better shooters. Ronde Hollis Jefferson was their best 6th man and he could really break out this year and lock himself up as a first round nba pick. Tj McConnell is back to run the show and brings in all the intangibles. Gabe York took over the starting sg spot late in the season and tournament and he will be back. Then they add Stanley Johnson who is a top 5 incoming freshman and capable of creating for himself and his teammates.

Should be a fun season next year. I like Wisconsin, Kentucky, Duke and Arizona as my #1 Seeds next year, with Wichita State, UNC and Kansas right in the mix. I also think Gonzaga is going to be very dangerous team with strong senior guard play in Pangos and Gary Bell Jr., Karnowski coming along, Kyle Dranginis being solid and the additions of Josh Perkins, Kyle Wiltjer, Silas Melson, Domantas Sabonis, Bryan Alberts and quite possibly USC transfer Bryon Wesley.
