As a Magic fan, all I can say is wow. Brook Lopez, Luke Walton, Shelden Williams, Damion James and 3 first round draft picks for the best C in the NBA. Good God. We can’t get anything better than that? I thought the proposed deal was Brook Lopez, Mashon Brooks, Kris Humphries and 3 first rounders. I would much rather have that deal.
Orlando Bobcats, anyone?

220ParticipantI think that means they only want Brook Lopez, the other guys are simply there to match up for contracts. I do agree, that seems meager for Howard, I’m surprised they aren’t talking to Houston.

TallmanNYCParticipantThe Magic don’t want Humphries. They figure he is going to be at least a $10 million per year multi-year player and they are planning on starting Ayon who is on his rookie contract. I’m sure the Nets are ready to throw Brooks in for this, but I guess no one really wants him either.
It does seem like not a lot of talent coming back especially since what Lopez gives you in scoring he loses you in rebounding. He really hasn’t been more than an average center for the last couple of years (and didn’t play last year except for five games because of injury).

DolanCareParticipantThere needs to be a third team involved for the Magic to get a decent return. I actually feel bad for the Orlando organization

MikezParticipantHere is how the NBA works… You need to be bad before you can get good, unless your the lakers.
The trade you wish they would make has the Magic ending up as the Bucks drafting in the 6-14 region for years.

kzekeParticipantI really don’t understand why they don’t want Brooks and Humphries. Marshon can flat out score and I believe Humphires has averaged a double-double the past two years. If I’m the Magic and Howard changes his mind again, and adds a few more teams to the "trade list", I’m immediately on the phone with other teams if Lopez and a bunch of late 1sts is the only thing we like about what we can get from the Nets.

TallmanNYCParticipantI’m not really sure why there is so little love for Humphries since he has been a double double guy now for two years in row. He rebounding about as well as any PF not named Love (fifth in the league for two consecutive years). He scores enough to keep defenses honest and then some. And the guy is 27, basically still in his prime for a big man.
Maybe it is just the price, no one wants to pay $10 million a year for this guy.

TallmanNYCParticipantI mean Humphries is way better than Jeff Green, but Jeff Green has no trouble getting a multi-year contract even though he combines the rebounding skills of Brook Lopez with the shooting percentage of Jamal Crawford (okay, maybe not that bad, but considering Green is supposed to be a powerforward, his career 45% shooting percentage is pathetic). I wonder if it is still the taint of the Kardashian dumping that is keeping teams away from Humphries.
