dumbest thing you said all season?
I wonder how many Perry Jones fans will actually put their hand up and admit to their "top 5" or future all-star comments...
same goes for Austin Rivers....
Well, I made a thread called Perkins - DPOY. It's not THAT bad though lol
I said the T-wolves would make the playoffs and clinch 7th or 8th seed. Which actually wasn't dumb it's just that once Rubio went down everything fell apart.
I thought/said Chicago would be Champion.
I thought/said Steph' Curry would make an All star season...
I didn't see Philly playing like that.
I thought/said Portland would be a PO team.
I thought/said Jimmer would be more successful.
I thought/said Howard would be traded.
THat Sullinger will be top 3 pick, that Davis won't be no 1 pick(that was b4 the season started actually)
Preseason: "No way Davis goes before Drummond" ...Damnit...
To be fair, many of us hadn't seen Drummond or Davis play full games before the season started, and literally everything this site wrote about Drummond said he'd be the 1st overall pick in whatever draft he was in. The first time I read that I thought it was a big call for a guy who'd never played college. Is it our fault if we placed too much trust in the scouting and reports of this website? (For the record I still think that Drummond will be a better pro than Davis if he's drafted somewhere he'll get an opportunity.)
The dumbest thing I've said this season? Probably that the Celtics wouldn't make the playoffs, and that Miami would sweep us. That said, it was a pleasant surprise when that didn't happen.
Anthony Davis was over rated....still think he is
Renardo Sidney would be an All American......oh god
Knicks would make the ECF, Miami wouldn't oh god
This one does it though, the Bobcats would make the playoffs and MJ would win executive of the year
easily the dumbest thing I remember saying was that the Clippers had a chance against San Antonio and would win at least two games. I didnt know what the heck I was talking about.
secondly, I picked Kemba to win ROY. he put up good numbers, 12ppg, 4.4apg, 3.5rpg but I didnt know the Bobcats would be the worst regular season team in history.
Once Cousins had demanded a trade, I said Celtics would trade J Oneal and 1 1st round pick for him(im a very biased Celts fan)
Yea , I too thought the Blazers were going to make the playoffs and be no worse than a 5 seed. Man was I wrong on that one.
He did not show me anything to lead me to believe that will work. Maybe I am hard headed, but I stil believe PJ3 is the best prospect in this draft with Austin Rivers, and Barnes. Maybe next season that will be dumb, but until I see them develop I still believe that.
I said that Jimmer had a very good chance at Rookie of the Year...
Wow.
I said something about "sucking the cock of life."
LoL..
I said these dumb things prior to teh start of the season ( and im sure many more)...
That Tim Duncan had no chance of staying healthy and effective.
That Derozan would find his jump shot
That Pau Gasol would be the best Laker
That Jersey would make the playoffs
Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I said that Tim Duncan should just retire, because he can't get it done anymore in the post-season, and his first round exit was evidence.
I said Kenneth Faried was gonna suck... SMH
Thought Rubio would suck, and thought Drummond would be a 20 and 10 guy at U-Conn and a lock for #1 with Barnes a lock for #2.
I said that Dexter Pittman would start 20 games and become a reliable #2 center for Miami.
He did improve, but despite starting 6 games, he's best known for closelining a guy in garbage time...
I didn't think Bynum had a chance of staying healthy
He hasn't even been drafted yet, how could he be a bust?
After games 1 and 2 I felt the same way, and I think most people did, that wasn't that bad.
I said Drummond would be in contention for NPOY....oops
I said Derrick Williams would win ROY.....oops
I said the Knicks would win 44 games.
I thought the Spurs would beat the Thunder in 5.
I thought Harrison Barnes was going to step up, and show why he should be the #1 pick.
I thought the Lakers would miss the playoffs because Kobe wouldn't be able to handle the shortened season, and Bynum would get hurt.
I bought into the "Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is having a better freshman season than Anthony Davis" hype. Did not say he was the better NBA prospect, just thought he was having a better freshman year for a while. Turned out to be quite wrong.
Did not believe Thomas Robinson would surpass Jared Sullinger as a NBA Draft prospect.
Did not believe the Thunder would make the Finals, actually picked the Lakers to do so. WRONG.
Believed a majority of the season that Andre Drummond would end up as the first pick in the Draft.
I am sure there are many more. I say a lot of things and not all of them are right. Think most people tend to and if they don't, they probably do not go out on much of a limb.
My big one was thinking Kyrie would be a bust. He's a franchise player - whoops. I, likewise, saw Portland as a top 5 playoff seed. I thought the Suns would be one of the worst teams in the league and was sure the Nets would keep their draft pick. I thought the Bulls would win the finals, but, well, Rose, and after was SURE San Antonio would.
I said the Knicks were going to win the Atlantic division, and had a shot at making the finals.
I said Drummond was going to be the #1 pick (although I think he will be a better pro than Davis)
I said Ricky Rubio was going to flop (I am really glad I was wrong)
I said DeMar DeRozan was going to improve
I said the Thunder didn't have enough pieces to make the finals.
Boy am I dumb...
Drummond was the next Dwight Howard and a lock to go #1 and UCONN would compete for another title.
Quincy Miller and PJ3 would both go top 10.(Although I still have hope that PJ3 will shine in the NBA)
I did have the Heat and the Thunder in the finals but I am pretty sure that was the consensus thought.
I thought the 76ers would be a frontrunner in the East behind Miami and Chicago, it was sort of true, until they really fell flat on their faces. They have a bright future and they had a nice postseason run but we all know that they would've gotten steamrolled by a Rose led Chicago team, however I have a lot of faith in them for the future.
I thought the Nuggets would be the 3rd best team in the West.
I thought that Sullinger would dominate and have himself as a lock for a top 5 pick, he had a very nice season, but I'm telling you, he's a steal in the late lotto and some team is going to be licking their chops if they get him in hte late teens or even the 20s.

i said fab melo would end up a better player than meyers leonard and tyller zeller
smh
