JNixonParticipantMichigan State is struggling to cleanly get into their sets offensively because of Duke’s pressure D. People (including me to an extent) overlooked Duke’s D with all the talent they have offensively, but when they played Kansas State and last year against Butler (both OUTSTANDING defensive teams) is when I saw that they had the ability to outmatch even the best defensive teams in the nation. That is why they have to be the overwhelming favorites.

JNixonParticipantKorie Lucious is a nice talent offensively, but he’s just too small to be a legit prospect.

SubZeroParticipantCongrats Iggy on 10000 posts lol
But anyways, Kyrie Irving is a balla. Duke is the clear cut favorite this year to win it all, IMO

stanford hoopsHow did i ever doubt this kid even a Lil bit?…He’s a good passer, good mid range shooter, good defender, good from deep, and most important he steps up in big games ( Kstate and so far against Mich st) i remember Jay Williams and he was good but he wasn’t this good. The only weakness if you wanna be nit picking is hes not a athlete like a westbrook but you dont need to be to be a good or great NBA point guard.

JNixonParticipantHas anyone noticed that Michigan State has played better at the start of this year when Kalin Lucas either doesn’t have the ball or isn’t on the floor.

Im Your FatherParticipantVitale going on about how excited he is to see Rivers and Irving play together… there is close to zero chance of that happening, even with the lock-out, as he is looking look a sure-fire top 3 pick, maybe even number one. That would be amazing though, I would go nuts.
But anyway, we won! I feel like that is the last real test Duke is going to see for a while, aside from maybe Butler. The ACC is looking awful this year. Losing back to back ACC-Big Ten Challenges.

Ghost01ParticipantHas already outplayed the two top senior point guards. This guy to me is probably deserving of the number 1 pick. His game is ridiculous.

stanford hoopsSorry to hurt Butler fans feelings but that game is not gonna be competitive. Duke might beat them by 25plus. Butler isn’t that good this season

Im Your FatherParticipantI think where Kyrie is picked will depend a lot on how the lottery plays out. God I hope Kahn doesn’t pull another one of his classic moves and take him.

PureshooterParticipantOne of the best handles I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t really jump out of the gym, but he is so quick, has a reliable jumper and great body control.

stanford hoopsHe has one of the best handles you have ever seen? man you gotta get out more, i mean his handles are nice but you gotta take a trip to d.c/maryland and you would be blown away by the handles you see there.
Yea i can see the kings picking him number one if the season plays out like it has so far( which it most likely wont)

PureshooterParticipantI haven’t seen many guys weave through Michigan State’s defense like Irving. Where are you talking about in D.C.? High schoolers? Pick-up ball?

stanford hoopsHow long have you been watching college basketball?..ill name a couple you might not have seen
Jason kidd
bobby hurly
steve francis
raymond felton
tywon lawson
CP3
Dwill
Mike conley
or a starting point guard in the NBA. Not down playing Irving but there’s been alot of college basketball point guards who have had handles better or just as good as him. Not as good of a player but as far as just handles
As far as d.c I’m talking about pick up games in the urban coalition league, docs gym, and the Barry farms league where just about every player on each team is better then the best player on Mich St team.
Not saying that Irving doesn’t have the best handles you have ever seen but that there are alot of guys out there who are equal or better handle wise

PureshooterParticipantOkay, well, a few things:
1. Pick-up games where nobody calls carrys or travels? How can you possibly compare those guys to Irving? You think those guys would give Irving a tougher time than Michigan State? I
2. You seriously think anybody on this board hasn’t heard of the guys you posted? You’re missing God Shammgod, Iverson, etc. I never said Irving was better than any of them, I said one of the best.
Wait….are you a Carolina fan?
