cuseflynn10ParticipantFlorida State up 4 against Duke at the half. Should be a good finish. Thought I’d let everyone know in case you wanted to watch.

zha123Participantthey will pull it together…they are having an awful night and still only down 4…singler and smith will get them the win

WizardofOzParticipantMy Terps were up by 6 in the 2nd half against them. I think that Duke will get it together and win this one, even though I would really enjouy an upset.

TyrekeJonesParticipantYea Singleton is really defending Singler well, not only is this Duke’s lowest scoring half of the season but I do not remember them trailing at halftime this season. Duke’s offense right now is stagnant, no ball movement and Smith is not doing a good job of getting the offense going, he is dribbling too much and needs to really look to attack. The team is just getting outplayed and the athleticism and length of Florida State is really giving Duke a problem down low, their big men need to do a better job of getting rebounds and keep Florida off the offensive glass to get second chance oppurtunities to score.

theasianpersuasionParticipantThey’re dying by the 3… If they were shooting at their season percantage of 40-41%, I’m thinking that they would be more competitive.
They’re really missing Zoubek right now… Plumlee might have 9 rebounds, but their inside presence is nonexistent.

Im Your FatherParticipantThey are really, really missing Kyrie Irving and it is very frustrating. The problem is that at this point, Nolan Smith is the only player on the team who can create his own offense off the bounce. If Duke is going to get consistent good looks, it has to come from Smith’s penetration. Otherwise all they can do is take jump shots.
I don’t really have a solution, but at this point, as much as I love my Blue Devils, they are not the number one team in the country.

You mean right now they’re not playing like it, or they aren’t the best team in general?

Im Your FatherParticipant@Iggy
Well they certainly aren’t playing like it right now, but regardless I think that without Irving, they aren’t the best team in the country. They have too much trouble creating offense. That is not to say that they won’t be contenders, but this team to me has the looks of one that could be knocked out early in the tournament.
Nolan Smith is a great player and he can get to the basket a lot. But as of now he is the only player that can. He also doesn’t have great court vision and a lot of open Duke players aren’t getting the ball where they need it. Teams are starting to realize that Duke doesn’t really have other players who can create for themselves and I worry that it is going to mean trouble.

TyrekeJonesParticipant^ I really think that is good of you to admit that as a Duke fan, they are still a very good team without Irving but to me Smith is better playing off the ball and he really isn’t a true PG or even close to as good as a PG as Irving, Irving could shoot, get to the rim and really run that offense well and take care of the ball and was great at finding his teammates and without him they will begin to struggle against some of the better team, to me Ohio States balance of offensive threats and their big man down low have shown they are just as good if not better then Duke at this moment. For me Ohio State and Duke are both kinda on par now with Irving out I mean Ohio State have Diebler, Lighty, Buford on the perimeter and Sullinger down low, they have good perimeter play and Sullinger down low always produces. Anyway if Duke can close out this game tonight, it really will show their heart.
