Let’s see who can get these?  Ill post answers later.

Preface everything with "Since the year 2000…"

…who is the shortest freshman to be drafted in the first round?

…what year had the lowest number of college players drafted in the first round?

…what draft year took the longest to select a center?

…what is the only position to not be drafted number 1 overall?

…how many top 3 picks are no longer in the league?

     Shortest freshman?  Kyrie Irving

    Lowest # college players in 1st?  2001

Longest to take a center?  2013

    Position not take 1st?  SG

Top 3 no longer in league?  Off top of my head.  Eddy Curry, Jay Williams, Yao, Darko, Stromile Swift, Anthony Bennett….wait, is he still in the league or no?

These are good ones, Shane Larkin was a sophomore though.

    1. Omar Cook

    2. 2004 had 16 college players in the first round

    3. 2008 with Brook Lopez as the 10th pick

    4. SG, with the last one either being in 1996 (if one considers Allen Iverson a SG, though he was drafted as a PG) or if you want to go to a "true" SG, 1975 with David Thompson. Some argue that since LeBron James was really drafted being billed as a guard, maybe the last time a traditional wing player was drafted #1 was in 1981, when the Mavericks chose Mark Aguirre.

    5. Stromile Swift, Darius Miles, Kwame Brown, Yao Ming, Jay Williams, Darko Milicic and Adam Morrison are not on active rosters as of present date. So 7.

Very good questions, I think Mikey’s answers are pretty much correct.

    – 2010 – Eric Gordon 6’1 (Larkin was a soph.  Cook was a second round pick.)

    – 2004 – 15 (Of the 29 picks made, since the Wolves forfeited their pick, 8 were high school seniors, 6 were international, leaving 15 college athletes selected in the first round)

    – 2008 – 10th (Brook Lopez slipped to 10th in the draft but was the first center taken.)

    – Shooting Guard

    – 7 (Stromile Swift, Darius Miles, Kwame Brown, Yao Ming, Jay Williams, Darko Milicic, Adam Morrison)

mikeyvthedon was 3.5/5 and was the closest.  Good job everyone!

I like your style man! After all this is a draft site and what we are here for, so keep it up with the draft day trivia to help us all stay sharp. Before you know it your efforts may earn you some warranted recognition from Aran, to possibly let you have your own personal "Draft Day Trivia" Sticky Thread.
