901GrizzParticipantWho is this draft’s biggest sleeper?
I think it could be AJ Hammons. Nice touch offensively. Good defensive player. Projected second round pick due to lack of motor and off court issues. But I’ve read some articles that stated he really turned things around the second half of his senior year and was a different person. Maybe he realized the opportunity in front of him. Either way, I think he’s a solid player that could contribute right away due to his age and body.
So who do you see as the biggest sleeper?

GBeeParticipantAgree on Hammons. Yes he’s older but he has a lot of facets to this game that you could only wish that rawer big man prospects could eventually develop. Offensively he’s got big soft hands, has jump hooks with either hand, can hit turnarounds over either shoulder, has a mid-range J with extended range out to about 20. Big body, big frame, can hold his position easily. Defensively he’s got the length, the body to hold his ground and shot-blocking instincts. A few of these younger bigs will never be able to hold position like he can on either end and will be limited to playing in space, while he can do either, at least offensively.

BehaviorlaParticipantTough, athletic and plays the big games well. I think he could be a steal in Round 2

juves4783Participanti like cat barber. i’m not sure why he’s not getting more love. quick with the ball, good size and has shown he can be a scorer or playmaker.
the other guy i like is damian lee. i think he could be a courtney lee type player.

publius2481ParticipantI know the buzz is picking up on him, but this guy is going to be a great rebounder (on both ends) in the league. I think he will be an above average defender, but he needs to work on not focusing too much on the ball. If he develops a mid-range game, he could be an all-star at some point in his career. I think he will go outside the lottery, but I think he has top ten talent.

Captain LParticipantThon Maker, with mocks having him possibly in the 20s , I think he has potential enough to go as high as 10 or 12.

vulture711ParticipantHe isn’t listed as being drafted here but he’s clutch and can shoot the 3 ball. No reason he can’t be an effective NBA backup point and his shooting fits well in the pick n roll game

MopgrassParticipantThere’s a lot. I’ll throw one in most aren’t talking about: Jarrod Uthoff. Good all-around game. Slumped at the end, but he can drive, shoot (his % doesn’t reflect it that well… he started the season strong and fell off) has moves, and has great foot work. He looks like someone with a frame that could add a lot of muscle.
I don’t think he’ll go in the 1st round since some sites don’t even have him on their mock. But I think he has 1st round talent.

dudo670ParticipantPatrick McCaw from UNLV. Combines great defensive potential with a want to be a good defender, and he is very versatile offensively. Decent handle, can shoot, combined with a quick first step. If there’s an all-star from the late first early second round, I think he has the chance to be that.

kobyzParticipantThe bigtime sleeper is Daniel Ochefu who projected undrafted for some reason getting overlook… Very efficient post player, good understanding and feel for the game, was the most important player on a title team… I see him being somthing between Dieng and Adams…

TRC1991ParticipantBryn Forbes. Can knock down the jump shot, has good size for a PG at 6’3”. If Ian Clark is in the league, Forbes is the same player.

shug94ParticipantI like Petr Cornelie and Gary Payton II as potential second rounders who could be a LOT better than advertised.
And I can’t see Diamond Stone as anything less than a solid pro. Which is good value at the turn of the draft rounds.

nill650ParticipantSomebody might take a flyer on him late 2nd , maybe the nets… what do they have to lose anyway at this point.
But more likely plays in china a couple years and stays out of trouble then he can get in the d-league…and maybe in 4 years he will play in the NBA. Thats a long road to take.

Hype MachineMe and Venky Jois’s mother both believe that he should be a first round pick. See her tweet below, referencing none other than the Hype Machine’s mock draft.

Venky is turning major heads in workouts, including today at Agents Pro Day in Las Vegas. Sacramento also impressed with his workout. Don’t be fooled, these high character, multi skilled guys from small schools always make for surprise picks.
Don’t snooze on Venky!

Untouchable JParticipantThon Maker- what do the socuts know that we dont!?!?
Isaiah Cousins – 3&D at the SG position. With a lil PG ability. And gritty
Wade Baldwin (if he drops)
Ben Bentil-Im puzzled why he isnt rated higher. Modern stretch 4 to a T
Khalil Felder

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMy problem with Hammons is that he was inconsistent for four years. Ever since his freshman year, he had fantastic moments and great games, but you never knew when it would happen and were always wanting it to become the norm. I think he will be on a roster, he might even have a few big games and be in the league for a while, but can he be trusted? It makes placing him difficult.

JoeWolf1I think Jake Layman is going to be the 2nd rounder who carves out a nice career. He’s great in the open court, has NBA size, athletic ability, and can play D. I could also see him being a reliable outside threat at the next level.
Doubt he’ll be a star, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he was starting somewhere in a couple years, or playing a key role off an NBA bench.

holefillers1ParticipantKahlil Felder- If this kid becomes Tim Hardaway…
Patrick McCaw- versatile defender, should be a nice 3D guy. If he can improve his handles and put on wieght then watch out.
Timothe Luwawu- needs to fill out and lock in on defense. Then we are talking about a guy who can move around the court and score a bit. I’ve heard his BBIQ called into question. All comes down to defense.
