I was looking at my mock and the upcoming draft, and had two questions I want to ask to guys on this forum:

    1) The Suns are sitting at the fifth position in the draft, and they basically need franchise talent (which is hard to come by in this draft). I my opinion, Len is one of the players with the highest upside, and having a tall C who is able to work in the low post and can defend the lane is something which really helps on your way to a competing squad. What if they select Len as their C, and they trade big Gortat while he has some value (to OKC or POR), for talent or (future) draft picks?

    2) Another raw talent is Bennett, who many people consider ‘too small’ for a really good PF. His strenghts are outside shooting (out to the 3pt line) and athleticism, pretty similar to a guy like Millsap (I know, comparisons are not to popular on this site). If in this weak draft, you are able to draft a guy with the potential to become a player like Millsap with a pick between 3 and 7, your pretty ok as a team right? Why are people hesitating about him as a PF (especially considering his immense wingspan)?

In regards to Bennett, he has massive durability question marks, as well as his asthma issues and just general lack of being able to stay on the court. Doesnt always put out full effort, especially on defence and when you are 2-3 inches shorter then your competition you better be hustling your butt off or the coach simply wont play you. His shooting is pretty overrated at this point, it is out to maybe 18 feet consistently, he doesnt have even close to consistent nba 3 point range. Overrated but still worthy of a top 10 pick in a weak class.

If somehow Mclemore falls to the Suns it would be perfect for them, but I’m having trouble seeing that happening. Someone who is a little bit of a reach but I could potentially see becoming an all star is McCullom. If he didn’t get injured I fell like his stock would be higher right now. He will at least score points efficiently and on the offensive end him and dragic would be great….defense is another story. Len would be a great fit. I really reel that Bennett is overrated but I also didnt see him play much. Cody Zeller would be interesting too.

i agree on the suns need for an All-star upside prospect more than a safe role player type. the two names you mentioned may have a bigger bust chance than lets say, Victor Oladipo, but their upside is much higher and i think thats what the suns need right now. their roster just seems to be filled with solid players but no stars. no true first option guys. scola declined a lot last season, Marcin is solid but shouldnt be a first option, and Goran is a scoring point who can be the third option on a play-off team but thats it.

the suns need that potential first option type talent. they tried acquiring him by signing beasley, but in his lone season, he has been disapointment.. i’d be willing to roll the dice with either of those guys mentioned, but since i have len taken before phoenix has a chance, i have them going with Bennett. the biggest question mark to me is his suspected motor. but i think that can be worked on since he shows that he can be tenacious, its just that he does on the offensive side of the court. he was one of the better offensive rebounders in the nation this past season and that shows hustle.

i think a solid coach can develop him and the phoenix training staff will help him immensley with his tendency to break down towards the end of seasons. steve nash used to be the same exact way when he was with the mavs, but when he signed with phoenix he looked like he could play 100 games a season on a high tempo. i honestly believe that if Anthony ends up going to Phoenix, it would be as mutually beneficial for both. in fact, if i was his agent, i would try to get him to the suns more than Cleveland, Orlando, Washington or Charlote. the suns offer him the best chance of success.
