There was some weird draft narratives this year that I didn’t get.  It seems people used the same arguments to kill one prospect but then totally ignored for other prospects.  One that really shocked me was that Dennis smith was killed for losing when he had a better record then fultz and played in a better conference.  Plus he was way more athletic than fultz and actually beat some good teams with a supporting cast just as bad. Another thing I couldn’t understand was fultz got a lot of love for his scoring game but isn’t jayson Tatum the 6’8 version of fultz.  Good not great 3 point shooters great of the dribble game.  While fultz might end up better how much better really.  I think who ever ends up better it’s by a slim margin and will really be determined by how there team does.  The last thing that shocked me about this draft was why would the bulls or any team make a trade with the warriors?  That is the stupidest thing to do in today’s NBA especially if your not fleecing them for there best assets. They just gave them the guy who probably extends that title run.  Jordan bell is that rodman type or draymond type defender with the length and athleticism to further enhance positionless basketball.  If the warriors can get max production out of javale McGee who is one of the lower iq players in the league giving them Jordan bell is an early Christmas present. We might as well chalk the season up to another warriors title.

i dont think dennis smith was "killed" for not winning more games. People criticized his poor body language and effort at times and suggested it might be due to not having a lot of talent around him which raised question marks about his attitude. But i dont recall anyone saying he just flat out didnt win enough games.

as for the tatum vs fultz, i dont see them as being so similar that tatum is just a 6-8 version of fultz. Lots of differences in their games. Fultz is probably as good as it gets in this entire draft at one on one breaking guys down off the dribble and getting into the lane. One of the knocks on tatum is that he has to settle a little more for tough shots and can struggle a little with ihs ball handling. ALso FUltz shot 7% better from 3 on more attempts and averaged 3x as many assists and put up 6 more points per game. Its entirely possible tatum ends up better, being the 3rd pick is no knock on his game. But i dont see them as the same player, they each have their own games.

As for bell to warriors, yeah what the hell was that? Maybe we a re all overrating bell so lets wait until we see it but i agree with you, i think he is going to be a steal and he fits their system perfectly. I thought he chance at going first round.

Bulls were given $3.5 mil for 38th pick. I don’t think thats a bad trade if you’re not really sure what to do with the pick. Not saying the Warriors didn’t get great value just saying that $3.5 million for the pick is a lot of money. My knock on Chicago would be that they haven’t used that money to sign some of the great undrafted players.
