I think there are many trades that are possible with this years draft. Teams are going to want to stockpile picks for next year and would be willing to move down for the right team. While on the other hand, the teams that feel that they are one player away might be willing to move up.

The trade I think will most likely happen is a deal between the Thunder and Timberwolves. (The parts in parenthesis are possible variations)

Thunder get Pick #6 and 18 (maybe the 28)

Wolves get Pick #3 (2010 2nd rounder, Earl Watson/Chucky Atkins)

    Reasoning:
The Thunder will get more picks with the possibility of drafting Harden still and with 2 later first round picks draft somebody like T Will as a perimeter D stopper and somebody who can distribute the ball off the bench. Maybe draft Mullens? But with their bad luck with bigs i say they pass and try to get a banger like Blair (doubt he will still be on the board tho). Maybe James Johnson will drop to them at 18 and they will take him at that point. (Added toughness)

The Wolves will get their pick of whats left here of the “Big 3” (Griffin, Rubio, Thabeet) and seeing as how they need a true point and an athletic shotblocker mostly, that works out well. Plus they get a veteran point man in Earl Watson or Chucky Atkins that will be able to either nurse Rubio along in his transition OR be the true point on a team that has it scorers and had just filled its big hole at center (Thabeet).

Will it happen? Probably not but I think it would be a very reasonable and smart trade for both teams.

    I thought of a deal…

Stoudemire, Barbosa and 2nd round pick
    For
    Hinrich, 16 and 26th pick

@QHaynes123 – Yes please. I will take it. I will give you the rights to Lindsey Hunter in this deal as well.

@ auber: I think that it was the #26 pick, but no one ever seemed to know exactly what the Bulls got for him. The Thabo trade got lost in the flurry of the Miller and Salmons acquisition and the Hughes reduction.

I would not be shocked to see the Bulls trade with either Minnesota or Golden State.

I know the Bulls have their eye on DeJuan Blair, so they may need to move up ahead of teams like N.J., Indiana, Milwaukee, Toronto and Phoenix (Golden State at #7 ideally). Golden State on the other is looking for a PG, which can be found where the Bulls are picking (#16). Rumor has it that the Bulls are willing to give up their 2 first round picks (#16 and #26) to do just that. Stay Tuned!!!

On a side note, Kirk Hinrich has been connected to Minnesota trade rumors for months. I would not be surprised to see him dealt for the18th pick in the draft. Although, he may be used in an attempt to get Amar’e Stoudemire out of Phoenix. Rumor has it the Bulls are offering Ty Thomas, Kirk Hinrich and draft picks for Amar’e Stoudmire. Again Stay Tuned!!!

I think that’s very reasonable. Of course, maybe too reasonable. I am not sure how Thabo Sefalosha did in OKC after the trade from the Bulls, but isn’t he a perimeter D stopper for them already? I could be wrong seeing as he couldn’t really get it going in Chicago. Of course, in Chicago we didn’t have any offense coming from the 5, 4, or even the 3 for most of the year so putting him at the 2 didn’t work.

I don’t mean to keep beating a dead horse here, but I don’t know what to think of the Wolves. McHale isn’t in charge of them anymore, at least I don’t think that he is involved with many of the personnel decisions anymore. So, they might all of the sudden look like draft sleuths this year. They usually seem to do the opposite of what I think they should do.

The Thunder I can’t really get a grip on either. It seems that a big cog in this draft machine this year depends on whether or not Russell Westbrook is going to stay at point guard or not. If he moves to the 2 guard, and the Thunder go with a point, my mock draft is screwed.

How about kaman to okc for watson and atkins(maybe throw in thunder’s 2nd first rounder). This trade works on espn trade machine. This would give the thunder a shot’blocking center for the future. Plus they wouldn’t have to take a chance on thabeet and could draft harden with the 3. As a thunder fan this would be a sweet starting lineup…
    ——————–PPG—-RPG(APG)
    5. Kaman——–12———-9
    4. Green———-18———8
    3. Durant———28———7
    2. Harden——–16——–(4)
    1. Westbrook–16———(8)

I’m not sure what the clippers fans would think of this so I’D LIKE TO SEE SOME COMMENTS to see if this is reasonable…

To answer your question Scott I just did the math, but it doesn’t really justify since the bulk of his time came with Durant down. 7.8ppg, 5.2rpg, 2apg, 1.7spg, 1.1bpg in 31mpg. I think he’s got serious sleeper material written over him next season and will be a rotisserie stud. To anyone that Owns Kevin Durant next year grab him asap as he will see the bulk of the minutes behind him as a security blanket. I own both Durant and Sefolosfa in my auction league at $30,$1 respectively. I really think the Thunder Will go big in this draft and take Thabeet. At bear minimum he’s a defensive force that can allow the rest of the team to focus offensively. Westbrook proved he can play off the ball so I think their set there. I just see Sefolosha getting the opening not at Shooting Guard next season. They did trade the #16 pick for him.

The Clippers won’t take atkins and watson for Kaman. They had Jason Richardson on the table last year. Maybe for Randolph, but this is far from reality for Chris Kaman.

As for trades I really think Memphis and Sacramento get something done. A #2 for the #4 and Donte Greene is what I can see happening. Maybe throwing Jaric and Nocioni to make contracts match.

I would like to know. I’m more into the Bulls, but it doesn’t matter.

    Thanks.
