mrwehbeParticipantJust read these two reports below about d’Angelo Russell : the first one talking that he can thrive in the triangle
and second and most important that he doesn’t want to play for the sixers (links below)
Plus he already did a stealth workout in NY that we knew after a week , and the smoke screen strategy that ny is adopting every day there is a trade rumor. Are the knicks trying to protect him so they don’t end up losing him like the did with curry ? what do you think guys?

CoachWyersParticipantI think the Knicks pick is very much in play as Phil Jackson has never been a big rookie guy and I think they would rather get a veteran if they can. Russell def. should be at the top of their board as I believe he will be the best player out of this draft and he would work well in the triangle. I would think if they stay at #4 Porzingis would be #2 on their draft board followed by Mudiay. All three of those guys would help the Knicks and be a upgrade over guys they already have. You hear they love Lyles, Winslow, Payne, and Cauley Stein but I think they trade down if they really want one of those guys and don’t reach at 4 for one of them.

shootingstar11Participantur argument is based on your own imagination or rumors posted by an unknown source.
“Phil has never been a big rookie guy”, this statement is just… false. The truth is, this is the 2nd time Phil Jackson drafted, and 1st time that he has a first round, not to say lottery pick. Of course, teams will need to do their due diligence to explore opportunities. At the end, I think Knicks would stay put at #4, because talent drops off is too great from #4 to #9… Knicks would probably get Russel or Mudiay, as PG is one of their biggest needs.0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/21/2015 - 9:18am #992214

TankensteinParticipantThe Russel thing re: the Sixers is overblown imo. I think the rumors he doesn’t want to be a Sixer are false and the result of an overreaction to his missing the first scheduled workout with the team.

KHAM83ParticipantA nobody with no ties to Russell or the Sixers writes that Russell doesn’t want to go to Sixers, and cannot link to any sources. If Russell really preferred NY, why wait this long to actually workout for Philly?
And he’s quoted after the workout saying "I think I killed it." Doesn’t sound like a guy who doesn’t want to go. I understand where rookie would prefer a NY or LA just because, but I see no strong rumors stating he doesn’t want to go to Philly.

ashock34ParticipantThere is so much BS out there right now it aint funny. All said and done Russell is the man in Philly for the next 10 years and leads them to a championship before his 25th birthday.

mrwehbeParticipantAdding to this mudiay canceled his workout with the kings he’s expected to be gone by 6.
http://www.basketballinsiders.com/sources-mudiay-refusing-to-workout-for-kings/
well i can see a trade between the sixers and the magic (who are enormed with porzingis) were they swap picks plus the sixers get a future pick or a young prospect like harkless.
sixers: mudiay + assets
knicks: Russel
orlando: porzingis
every one is happy i think

rileymcshea3ParticipantAs a D’Angelo Russell fan I hope the 76ers don’t take him. This guy is too good to go a on a team where most people can only name one player…
If he were to go to the Knicks he’d take over the league just as fast as Steph did.

Sewok15ParticipantThe Sixers who entered the season trying not to win games won more games than the Knicks who thought they actually had a shot at the playoffs. He would be much better off in Philly with at least some decent young players…not Carmelo the Chucker…Hardaway Jr. is their only decent player under 25.

BiggysmallsParticipantThat’s exactly why I’d rather see him go to Philly. Any random guy taht does well in New York will get plenty of headlines. Lets get some legit stars to other teams so the league can have some legit balance.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell didn’t want to play for Philly, but heres the thing: he doesn’t have a choice in the matter. If Philly wants to draft him, they need to do so and not worry about a player potentially not wanting to be there.

VRod305ParticipantI don’t buy the idea that he doesn’t want to play for the Sixers. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have rescheduled the workout, he would have blown it off.

TheLastWordParticipantDo we blame him? He saw what happened to MCW and probably don’t want to get kicked around if he struggles his first year. These are humans not some video game.
