apb540ParticipantI am down with Lawson running the Sixers’ offense for the nxt 10 years if he develops like he can (I think he will).

TheProfessor76Participantwhy would you want a 5’10 pg on a team that has a great point forward in the mold of pippen on the roster. Some one long and athletic would be ideal and if he could shoot and score great..the draft is stacked with alot of point guard prospects…but not many will pan out and I feel Lawson is certainly one of them…Maynor,Jrue Holliday,Jeff Teague all make more sense then Lawson(who in my opinion isnt in the first round if NC gets beat early in the NCAA tourney) who is may I repeat 5’10 at best is not a better pure point guard than other prospects and provides us no offensive potential in the future…not to be harse but dude is earl boykins with a few more inches… pleaseeeeeee

dantana5ParticipantYou obviously didn’t see Ty play in college. He was player of the year on the same team with one of the best players in ACC history. No offensive potential? Dude’s assist to TO rate is sick!

JNixonParticipantI wonder if he’s the answer though. I want them to get BJ Mullens, though because I think Lou Williams is a starting pg.

Tha King2121ParticipantNotice the real 6ers fans like him

TheProfessor76Participanta real 76er fan would not want a 5 10 pg that will be a defensive liability every night in the nba…he’s not jameer nelson..who is an allstar and still a defensive liabilty for the magic(check D fisher hitting that 3 in his face…3 inches taller and who knows…i think small guards can excell but i dont feel lawson and his 5’9 frame wil be 1 of them.if your sold on us gettin a point guard then i’ld rather take a hard look at whoever else is available at 17..Jennings may still b there 4 all we know…isnt that who sixer fans should realy want…???

Tha King2121ParticipantU know TY could remind a few coaches about Allen Iverson
if they think he could be an AI then thats a great reason for
picking he – – Dam that would be niceBut the best PG availibe i think will be Maynor – -but i dont
see him in the system(we working him out 6/13)0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 11:46am #164095
apb540ParticipantFirst off, Lawson might not have the height advantage but he is lightning fast and very strong. Second, his man to man D is average, but he can create a ton of steals using his speed. He is also able to double team like they did with Miller all the time, but Ty will acutally be quick enough to rotate out to stop the open 3 ball. Third, he actually has a nice jumper with range and that is key when having a post player like EB. Finally, he is a winner. The dude was the motor behind a National Championship winning team so that has to count for SOMETHING! Size in the PG position is severly overrated and intangables such as leadership are much much much more important than height.

L.ShapParticipantI really want Lou Williams to start this season and Jrue Holiday or Brandon Jennings to fall to them. The last thing they need is another injury prone player in Lawson. I’m not so high on Maynor either.
A trade in the second round involving Willie Green for either Dionte Christmas, Jodie Meeks or Jack McClinton would be ideal too.0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 4:57pm #165304
Tha King2121Participant1.Yes we all want Lou Williams to start.
2. Its not looking good for Jrue Holiday or Brandon Jennings to fall
3.Ty Lawson is not injury prone, all of his injurys were not his falt.
4. Say Jrue and BJennings dont fall, then who do u want us to pick,
if u dont like Ty or Maynor?
5. Trade willie green for a second round SG, that would be great.
kinda what were looking for.0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 6:09pm #167967
Tha King2121ParticipantCome on he will be nice………my comparison……….Tony Parker.
Im i the only one who thinks he could be the nice TP? eH?0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 2:40am #168095
JNixonParticipantPATTY MILLS is the next Tony Parker. Ty Lawson? The next Raymond Felton. That isnt bad but I think Parker is better than Felton, I dont know about you
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:31am #168109
Tha King2121ParticipantRaymond Felton is one of the slowest PG’s in the NBA. TY is fast
Raymond Felton can pass real good. Ty cant pass that great.
Raymond Felton cant hit the 3. Ty is one of the best…..in the NBA range(comming out of College)Ty is everything like Parker, The only thing in common with Raymond Felton
is that they went to UNC.0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:58am #168120
L.ShapParticipantHe reminds me a little bit like a Jameer Nelson that is speedier and gets more steals.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/20/2009 - 6:15pm #169412
apb540ParticipantLawson is the next……Ty Lawson!! He is not a player who truly resembles another player but instead he takes bits and pieces from certain players (Jameer Nelson strength for his size, Parker’s speed, Felton like passing, etc.) and he uses all those atributes to be a very unique player. The more I breakdown the PG’s, the more I really like this guy. The dude has great natural ability, plays hard, and wins; I will take that lol.

Tha King2121ParticipantYO you said “Not me give me someoe who wont be a liabilty”
—-About TY LawsonMaybe the most Liabe PG in this Draft, And the most proven.
He LEAD UNC to a national championship!SO buddy Please stop postin on here
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/27/2009 - 9:30am #172368
JNixonParticipantHe is not slow, at all. He did all the stuff Lawson did (sprinted up the court for layups after baskets and rebounds, found the open man in half court sets through ball , and didnt play great defense on the ball). Lawson will have Felton like stats in his breakout seasons. He seems like a backup to me
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/01/2009 - 4:43am #173791
Tha King2121ParticipantHey I think we are going to make him a TRUE point guard………….Not a Shootin Guard
Correct his form, make him pass the rock, Get him to run!, Give him alot of minutes this year.
Rook season……..8p, 4a, 3b
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/01/2009 - 10:13am #173932
apb540ParticipantI agree wit tha king in making him a 100% point guard, no half and half bs like they did with Lou. I would really like to sign AI to the MLE (i think we have it available) and then bring Jrue off the bench as the backup PG.
