I really like this guy and he has one hell of an offensive array of moves. I just ask you when the last time you have seen such a complete offensive scorer enter the NBA?

He has post-moves, mid-range, 3 point range (we all know that is becoming more important in the NBA) even an ability to finish around the rim. Yes I understand he is not that athletic, but neither are guys like Klay Thompson, Kevin Love (only an inch or two taller), Danny Granger (before injury very useful), Paul Pierce (in the latter years in Boston), Danilo Gallinari (when healthy)

So my question is will he thrive at the next level like Curry or struggle to find a spot in NBA like Jimmer has?

I understand I will get negged, but I am solely talking about an offense stand point, ignore his defensive short comings as this point.

Let me know your opinion on this guy, why or why not do you think he will or won’t work in the NBA?

His post up ability will be seriously negated with the bigger, stronger defenders in the NBA. He has a really high basektball IQ and skills, I just don’t see him being much more than Peja. Also not a great ball-handler.

Peja scored 20ppg from 2000 to 2008. That’s pretty good in my opinion. Dougie will be OK if he ever reaches 15 ppg in a similar period.

Lol Peja came 4th in the NBA MVP voting one year.  If you think he can be a little better than Peja you consider taking him 1st overall.

I hope he doesn’t turn into a Luke Babbitt but I can’t see a huge difference in their games coming out of college

he can shoot the ball and has the height.i see him as a kyle korver type of player which isn’t bad at all if he had a career like peja that wouldn’t be bad at all either.just depends on what type drafts him

He’ll be a good pro. Jimmer was/is a chucker pretending to be a point guard and the worst defender I’ve ever seen. McDermott is a model of efficiency and he has all the tools to be a successful scorer in the NBA. No he’s not a great athlete but his skill level is through the roof. Plus he won’t even be a big liability defensively. He actually works really hard on that end.

I’m saying Jimmer, b/c their is just no way in hell he will be a Steph Curry.  But I believe he will be a good player, maybe like a JJ Reddick right now and with out all the need for developing an NBA game.  McDermott does have a much more well rounded game than JJ coming out of college.  They are not similiar players coming out, b/c all JJ could do is hoot.  But JJ has evolved and his game and I think McDermott will come in show he can be an asset to almost any team, which is what JJ had done prior to being injured a majority of this season.  Anyways it is almost impossible to compare an predict these super shooting scorers from college to NBA, because

    A. You get trapped comparing white to white and black to black players, which really is a huge disservice to players games but it just happens, I tried to think of a different comparison but it’s just easier for some reason this way and it always happens (Any DP Show listeners? He’s a real scrappy player. aha), B. You don’t know if it’s system or player, and C. You don’t know how they will handle not getting their touches

He will be interesting to watch, but again I would be shocked if he is a bust and I would be shocked if he ever averages over 20ppg
