providencefriars1ParticipantWith Doron Lamb staying Kentucky has to be top 2 in the preseason poll. The thing im wondering is who is the starting five? You cant really go wrong here but I would do (Assuming Jones and Knight leave):
PG- Teague
SG- Lamb
SF- Liggins
PF- D.Miller
C- A.Davis
Bench: Gilchrist, Wiltjer, Vargas
Gilchrist is probably their second best player, but I would like to have the experience of Miller and Liggins in the starting five.

ilike.panochasParticipantI like Lamb coming the bench, he’s not a good rebounder, and looks to score more often than passing it. I think Gilchrist is versatile enough to play SF/SG and put Lamb as the 6th man. Plus Gilchrist will be your best overall defensive player, so you want him on the floor as much as possible.

NYCarolinaParticipantGilchrist will not be coming off the bench man.

providencefriars1ParticipantIm not saying forever, just to start the season. Calipari wouldnt want a disgruntled Liggins or Miller because they are coming off the bench and are seniors, they are way too important to UK’s success. Lamb would be the only guy you could move to the bench. As a freshman Lamb played 30ish mins a game as a 6th man so Gilchrist would get as many mins as everyone else except for Teague who probably gets 35+ mins at PG. As I said before you cant really go wrong.

omphalosParticipantCalipari probably doesn’t care about his seniors when you consider everything he does is based on star freshmen coming in every year. If he doesn’t give this incoming class burn he might find it hard to recruit; these recruits play for Calipari because they’ll be given minutes and starts, if he benches a player like Gilchrist for a senior it would hurt that image.

ilike.panochasParticipantYou start the best player that gives you the best chance of winning, regardless of their class. Gilchrist (based on scouting reports and the hype he brings) would asume he will be their best or 2nd best player, so he will not be coming off the bench, even if it means relegating Miller and/or Liggins to bench role.

TeamShowtimeLakersParticipantkentucky is going to be strong next year…the big issue is if they will have chemistry because they are going to have alot of playmakers on this squad….i think gilchrist starts and maybe liggins comes off the bench.

cward23ParticipantCal has sat upperclassmen in favor of freshmen before. Gilchrist will not be coming off the bench. The starting line up will look something like this
Teague
lamb
liggins
gilchrist

SteroidParticipantI think Gilchrist will start because he can give you the same thing Liggins gives but even more. The thing is, Liggins is a starter who can guard the teams best perimeter starter and do some things on offense also, and he has experience… I think Doron should be the one coming off the bench because he can play the one or be a pseudo PG, and he’ll be a mismatch against other 2nd unit guys. I’m sure Calipari will experiment with different lineups early on.

bstokes25Participantno way gilchrist is going to start on the bench he best player or the 2nd best on team with maybe davis ahead of him. and to cal going to like his hard he plays.
