TyroberParticipantI don’t do it, but I know a ton of people that do. I play poker for most of my income and play with a bookie and everybody always bets on any type of games and they always lose their ass. If I were you I would stick to watching games. Yeah some of them win more than others, but they have all lost money doing it and of course the bookie always get his juice so he does quite well.

apb540ParticipantI like to use freesportsbet.com which used to be centsports.com. It’s free but you get actual money to bet with and it provides a great place to practice.

M-DYMESParticipantI’ll bet football.
I’ll bet baseball.
But I very very rarely bet basketball, particularly NBA. Too many variables. You got guys constantly having on and off shooting nights, the refs can affect the game heavily even when they are not rigging it. Fouls are so common and subject to the officials verdict.

For_Never_EverParticipantThis will be my first Bet this year tell me what you guy’s think.
I’m betting on Blazers and Thunder.
Thunder at Hornets, Thunder gives 7
Magic at blazers , Blazers gives 4

For_Never_EverParticipantI’m with you with all that M-DYMES. Thats why I so rarely ever bet on Basketball.

fgrrghgParticipantdont really enjoy the thunder bet too much im taking new orleans myself… thunder are on a streak, playing a back to back with one night off after their 3 games in a row stretch. They are due for a letdown and new orleans has been keeping games tight.
I like the blazers better, but again playing a back-to-back where orlando is rested. They do matchup really well though

delfamParticipantI bet on basketball, usually only college but sometimes on the NBA, usually about 3 bets a day. Let me know if you want any advice. Where’s what I’m playing today.
Syracuse -8.5 @ Villanova
Fordham +14 @ St. Joseph’s
Charlotte @ UMASS +5
Sixers +4 @ Knicks

Scottoant93ParticipantNah I don’t bet on games gambling or money wise at least. I will do things such as pick the win for fun but not anything else haha.

apb540ParticipantI took OKC moneyline in a two team parlay. I have a 4.5 point teaser with 76ers +8.5, Over in that game of 192, Mavs +10, and Blazers +1. I’ve got a 4 team parlay too of Michigan moneyline, Memphis moneyline, Hawks +2.5, and Heat moneyline.

Michael.S.ParticipantI do sparingly to try and hit a home run; I put about 20 bucks on a night when there are 10+ games and just go for em all….. be smart about it though. I usually bet small but the money adds up. Don’t make it a habit.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/11/2012 - 8:12am #623803
delfamParticipantjust a general rule of thumb but parlay’s are for suckers and anyone trying to make money at betting should avoid them.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI don’t bet on games, but if I did I wouldn’t bet on a game with a large + or – because when that happens it is usually a blowout and your bet will come down to guys playing garbage time minutes

surveParticipantI bet on Boxing because if the odds are to my liking, I can usually win pretty good. I dont bet on anything else as far as single games. If I bet on Basketball or Football….it has to be a future.
I use Sportsinteraction.com
For instance, I may drop a future bet in the NBA, the two bets I am looking at are the Lakers and the Clippers to be 2012 NBA champs. Allow me to explain why. The Heat are the favorite, no real money there. The Bulls are +550 but no way I pick them to take the Heat out much less win it all.
Why I like the two L.A. teams? Well, the odds could drastically change for the Lakers (+750) should they get Howard. The Clips (+1600) you would make a fortune off if they can gel and win the title. With the cast they have…its not impossible.

ZaratukParticipantI use BET365 and I always bet on double results usually small amounts like a buck or 2. I always bet on the underdogs making a comeback so that I win more money 😛

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe way I fail at Pick the Win, why in the world would I ever even think of betting? lmao

HitsterParticipantI’ve always like to have a bet on horse racing and the greyhounds on occasion. I’ve bet on football sometimes and if I see a good price on something I’m onto it. I don’t spreadbet as the experts setting the odds know the sports inside out and there is little value but high risk.
As I’m in the UK, the basketball odds sadly come from the US so I cannot use any NBA knowledge I may have to try and get better value if their odds setters may not be that up on the sport.
I like the occasional novelty bet such as 33-1 for a member of the UK Royal Family to light the Olympic flame, I’m tempted to have a tenner on that.

delfamParticipantPinnacle and 5Dimes are probably the best sites for betting.
Another tip would be to bet first half lines. Especially in basketball there’s lots of fouling and free throws at the end that screw the line but by betting the first half spread it’s a higher percentage bet and you make more in the long run.
