One of the things I love about college basketball is seeing the improvements players make from year to year. I love seeing young players mature before my eyes. Wilson was an afterthought who could barely stay on the floor last season. He looked skinny and physically overmatched on the floor. However, this season Wilson has suddenly emerged as potentially Michigan’s most important player and a potential first round draft pick.

Wilson has clearly gotten stronger physically and mentally. He has long arms and quick feet and the ability to legitimately defend at least 3 positions. He runs the floor like a gazelle and his energy is infectious. He gives michigan the first true rim protector they have had in the belein era.

Michigan looks really strong this year. While they might lack the true superstar like a Burke, stauskas or levert, this is an experienced team (especially in the backcourt) that executes and can really shoot the ball. With the emergence of Wilson and some of their other frontcourt players like Wagner this team could absolutely challenge for the big ten title and possibly make a deep tourney run.

Yeah he has improved. He spent time this summer hooping with Oubre and Stan Johnson so he’s around NBA guys. He’s good. Can only get better
