dmo21ParticipantOkay, so last night I watched the Dallas/Toronto game, as I am a Raptors fan. This game is usually that matchup of the 3 point shooting 7 footers but due to injury both Nowitzki and Bargnani were out. But what was seen throughout the game is how much Dallas needs Dirk to do anything. The Dirkless Mavs scored 78 against Toronto, the second worst defense in the league. And this Toronto team was not even there best players. They were missing Bargnani, Calderon, Weems, Peja, and Evans. In the game Kleiza got kicked out and Bayless got hurt. Toronto beat the Mavs with a lineup of Barbosa, DeRozan, J.Wright, A.Johnson, and E.Davis with Dorsey coming off the bench, and that is pretty much it. So my point is, does this game help Nowitzki in MVP voting seeing how bad the Mavs are without him?

PureshooterParticipantI think it’s too early to say that. After Dirk went out against the Thunder the Mavs played inspired basketball. Specifically Terry.

sacphil_08Participantnot at all… without dirk the mavs are nothing close to being "that bad" the mavs could probably still be a playoff team (bottom feeder mind you) without dirk. with him they are in contention for the top spot as they are now. it was the second of a back to back for dallas and you have to think that they were thinking they were just going to walk all over toronto. hell dirk was commentating and having a ball. the mindset definitely wasnt to take that game all too seriously. i guarantee if dirk was out and they were playing the spurs that dirk wouldnt have been commentating but rather sitting on the sideline cheering his team on and trying to pump them up.

RUDEBOY_Participantthe guys that vote for mvp can be so bias…
I remember Nash had a better year in 2007 than the years he won mvp..and should’ve won MVP in 2007..But Voters couldnt stand the idea of him being a 3 time mvp and refused to vote for him..
CP3 had a better year than Kobe, but voters felt it was time for Kobe to win the award…
In 2000 Shaq could’ve been an unanimous winner ,but Fred Hickman voted for Iverson
