Dimitrios Agravanis should be drafted. For some reason he is not in any of these mock draft site’s mocks. But whatever. He should definitely be drafted. Him not being drafted is just showing again that NBA has biases with Greek players.

If he was American player he would be going in top 5-10 picks without any question.

So you think the only Greek player that left his name in the draft, a player no one has heard of, should be a top 5 pick? Shocker.

Forgive me for only doing some brief research right now – he appears to have good size/mobility, but looks to be severely lacking in length and explosiveness. He looks versatile and can shoot a little but hes’s still below average in that regard. Tweener. Nothing about his game or numbers really stands out. He barely broke 50% this year in TS%.

What about him makes him worthy of a top 5-10 pick? Other than being Greek of course.

You are trolling. If he was playing in NCAA he would have completely dominated. He was a 19 year old kid playing in Euroleague. Stop being a fool. Hezonja was riding the bench and getting DNPs half the year.

Porzingis played in the league level BELOW Euroleague and he played in one of the worst teams in the whole league. While Agravanis played in an elite Euroleague team. His team beat Hezonja’s team 3-1 in Euroleague playoffs.

Put Agravanis at NCAA level and he would have torn it to shreds.

Man you’re always trying wayyy to hard to support your greek players.

To be honest I think you’re always the one who is biased when it comes to evaluating players. EVERY greek player is a hidden gem in your opinion and ALWAYS it’s the greek bias from the NBA. Do you think there are meetings the NBA makes with all the representatives from avery team to make clear greek players won’t be touched on draft day? And if a greek player is good, what does this take away from other international prospects like Prozingis or Hezonja?

I’m totally sick of you accusing others of beeing racist or biased or whatever. This is hilarious and you completely lost credibilty when you stated he should not only be drafted, but within the top 10. Porzingis has shown in his workouts and with his club that he can shoot it and block some shots, not to mention that he is above 7′ while doing so which Agravanis is not.

It doesn’t help that he is a bad free throw shooter and shot 66% in the league and just 42% in the euroleague even if it was just in limited playing time. I know Olympiacos is a very strong club but the overall competition in the league is below what the spanish ACB has to offer and I don’t think he did enough at this stage to really be considered NBA level top tier talent let alone beeing a top 10 pick.

How could you honstly say he would shred the NCAA to pieces? How many prospects beeing drafted actually did this last season – shred the NCAA into pieces?

To be honest I have strong doubts that NCAA basketball translates very well to the NBA but Hezonja and Porzingis for example both speak english fluently and this will help them a lot coming over and I don’t reall know if Dimitrios can do this too, since he never played outside of greece and his coach is greek too but I don’t know about his lingual knowledge. It’s never easy to go to foreign coutries and ha hasn’t showed yet that he can handle this so the cultural integration is way easier.

Agravanis is not a bad prospect at all, he played all U16, U18 and U20 tournaments and maybe someday he will really come over to get a chance in the NBA but for now he hasn’t done anything to be mentioned in the same tier as the guys who have been selected in this years lottery.

Show me some unbiased non american article or scouting report that puts him into the same category as Hezonja or Porzingis. And once again, why are you always trying to take away credit from other prospects when you feel your guys are not beeing evaluated correctly?

I’m happy with any international prospect who has the talent, desire and chance to come to the league, no matter where they are from and I’m absolutele sure that people around here feel the same and after what the Antetokounmpo brothers already did to greek basketball there are many NBA bound scouts who take a look to greek talents. To be honest I hope some of your elite talents make it to the NCAA and even the NBA just that we all have the same view on them and don’t need to discuss which league, team or competition in europe is weaker or tougher.

Agravanis did not get to work out for any NBA teams genius. And yes, NBA is biased against Greek players. Everyone through all of Europe talks about it all the time. All the scouts and managers of teams talk about it. The only Greek player they even wanted to look at was Antetokounmpo because he was black and they didn’t consider him Greek, they kept calling him "Nigerian".

Actually, as soon as they found out he was actually Greek, they put on a media spin campain to it because they had to back track all the previous stuff they put out in the media where NBA related media had claimed he was "Nigerian".

If you don’t believe it, that’s your problem. It’s true though.

Papagiannis is #1 talent prospect in all of Europe, and Charalampopoulos is very elite also (certainly better than someone like Hezonja for example). Neither one of them even appears on a single mock draft ANYWHERE.

If you don’t think there is anything suspicious about this, then you are an absolute fool. This same kind of thing has been going on for years now.

Siekaly was from Greece, and he had to renounce that he was from Greece and drop Greek ctizinship papers, and take American citizenship just for the NCAA and NBA to take him.

Stojakovic was a Greek citizen and was a meber of Greek national team and lived in Greece and only wanted to be connected to Greece. He had to claim he was Croatian, and then play for Serbia (even though he wanted to play for Greece) in order for NBA to accept him.

This, and many other such examples all through the years.

All people like you can do is come back with, "no it’s not true, none of it’s true".

And of course you deny these things, and say it’s all made up. But it is not. This kind of thing has been going on for years. People in Greece thought that once a new NBA commisioner came in maybe things would change, but so far there have been very minimal results.

You can watch Greek under 19 team against USA under 19 team right in YouTube from just a couple days ago.

USA only won by 8 points, 90-82. So don’t tell me this nonsense about US superiority and all this BS always said in this forum. And don’t tell me all this BS either about whatever players USA missed. USA team is built on very best of best USA players in this age group, with some absent players dut to injuries, or other reasons.

Same with Greece, who just for your info, is missing two if its 5 best players in Antonios Koniaris and Kostas Antetokounpo. And also, in this game, probably Greece’s 2nd best player, Vassilis Charalampopoulos got injured early in the game, and had to leave the game, and so he was not a factor and so Greece basically played without 3 of it’s 5 best players.

So don’t pretend either like it was "best Greece has against some USA scrubs" which is always USA excuse. Don’t pretend either with excuse "USA just began practice", because Greece also just began practice actually like a few days ago even for most of the key players, and only a couple weeks for the rest of the team. So spare me the usual troll excuses.

    First half of the game:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXGkzA9nAr0

    Second half of the game:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZiJXipotwc

And if you want I can show the game last summer from under-17 world championship between USA and Greece which also very competitive as well. And in that game, USA had their best team, and Greece was missing quite a few of they best players. So enough already with all this BS in this forum about all this "American superiority" and "Greek inferioity" about basketball. Just stop it. In this last game Greece played without both their starting guards, and still was leading the game even in the 4th quarter, and even with their 2nd best player being lost early in the game with an injury.
