I was fooling around at some websites looking for salaries, suddenly amazed at what I read.

I'm assuming that website is talking about TOTAL salaries. Roy still recieves his due from his previous contract after being amnestied by the Trailblazers. And if I'm not mistaken that contract he signed was pretty close to a max deal.
so that is basically the 17 to 18 million he was owed from the trailblazers plus the 5 million he got from the timberwolves.
