Favors has been impressing a lot of people (me included) as of late.

    • He is being kept in the line up for the end of games now.
    • He is a future DPOY candidate, the way he anchors Utah’s defense when he subs in is remeniscent of Dwight Howard.
    • He scores 10-15 points by accident when given 20 minutes or more.
    • He Already looks to be the best two way player from his draft class (we will see how P.George and G.Hayward pan out. Cousins and Monroe hurt their teams defensively. John Wall has reallly dissapointed.)
    • If he further develops his offensive game, which I think he will, he will becomes one of the best players in the NBA.
    • It’s panning out exactly as most experts projected him as…a project.

“Due to the situation he’s in, he’s been forced to create too much of his offense by himself this year, which is not something he’s comfortable doing at this point in time…

Whoever drafts him must be patient though, as it’s unlikely that he’ll be ready to compete for Rookie of the Year honors, and he surely isn’t ready to play a major offensive role right away. Players with his natural tools are incredibly hard to come by, though, which is exactly why he won’t have to wait very long before hearing his name called on draft night.”

"Favors doesn’t have the offensive game that DeMarcus Cousins has," another GM told me. "But he’s a better athlete, a better defender and when the two of them met head-to-head in high school, Favors kicked Cousins’ butt. Had he got going earlier at Georgia Tech, he could’ve been, probably should’ve been, the No. 1 pick." -NBA GM (Via Chad Ford ESPN)

His measurements out of Chicago are virtually identical to Dwight Howard’s — which means he should be just fine playing center. All of this can change once players undergo individual workouts and interviews, but from what I can gather, Favors has the lead if the Sixers decide to keep the pick.

The bottom line is this. If Derrick Favors develops as it appears he is doing, he will be a Superstar in this league. I can’t believe people wrote him off when he came as a project and now down the road he is showing major growth and promise.
