I want to talk about 2 players and want your guy’s personal opinions on each.

    DeMarcus Cousins

He’s been improving as the season has been moving on and had recently had three great games vs the Hornets, Lakers, and Celtics.  As the season gets older, DeMarcus’ confidence grows.  He’s getting much better and he’s utilizing his strength and body more and more.  It’s rare to see a big man improve this much during the regular season (see Blake Griffin) but DeMarcus Cousins would definitely have been ROY if Blake played last year.  Overall, do you guys think DeMarcus Cousin’s could take the franchise from Tyreke Evans in about 2 years?  How do you see them working together?  They are very young and are a couple of pieces away from having a very good nucleus to start off with.

    Andrew Bynum

This guy has so much talent but at times plays complacent.  I think he should be getting a couple more minutes, especially because Pau Gasol is growing tired as the season wears on.  Andrew Bynum has shows flashes of brilliance where he can completely dominate a stretch of games on both ends of the floor, then he has a stretch a games where he’s completely gone and will score about 8 points and grab about 7 boards.  If it wasn’t for injuries, would Lakers fans trust Bynum with the keys to the franchise 2-3 years down the road?  Do you guys think he’ll be the Lakers franchise player when Kobe retires?

I do not believe he will ever be a franchise type guy now. Cousins will be the guy the teams offense will eventually have to run through in order for them to really be successful. Cousins must keep working hard and improving his post game wich I think he will do.

Bynum in my opinion has reached his peak, the guy can barely play 35 minutes. The best I see him becoming is at 16PPG 10RPG. Cousins on the other hand may be the next 20-10 guy in this league. I will say that Bynum is better defending the block and anchoring a defense just based on his height and bulk alone.

But in all honesty  I consider Bynum incomplete, or a bust altogether. The thing about him is he’s been in the league for six years and hasn’t lived up to his potential and even furthermore he’s sustained numerous knee problems. Not to mention, doesn’t he seem a bit soft to you at times? Don’t get me wrong he can have some decent games every now and then. I’ve seen him do it before. But like it was said, I think he’s hit his ceiling. So call him whatever you want but he’s either a bust or incomplete, your choice. But after 6 years in the league and you haven’t lived up to the expectations, you should be regarded as a bust. Kwame brown was considered a bust within the first 3 years, so is it really okay to keep saying Bynum has potential?

As for Demarcus cousins, passing ability, swagger, aggressiveness. Hell he’s got George Karl saying he’s got great rebounding hands. A big body, and all though his attitude may warrant technicals, I think his over all work ethic inwhich was challenged is pretty good. If Tyreke ever catches his rookie season magic, which I’m sure he will. Him and Demarcus will be a solid nucleus like was asked. I think Sac-town needs a pure point guard and a small forward though.
