festar35ParticipantI have a couple of requests for this off-season.
As the play-offs have gone on the only player I see playing well (very well in fact) is Paul George so lets go and get him some help. I notice that this team has no one who helps score the ball with Paul George.
I also notice that our bigs don’t seem to enjoy rebounding the basketball so I say lets kill to birds with one stone. A young guy called Monroe is becoming available and think if you freed up some money he would be the guy to get. Mr Hibbert has run his course and with only one year left you could amnesty him or try find a trade for this cap room. I think he could be a solid 17-10 kind of guy and the change up in the post that Indiana need.
The other thing I noticed is the ball seems to get stuck in Stephenson’s hands. I think that this young guy should be re-signed and then moved onto another team for a PG who can set up and offense. A guy like Rondo would be awesome, but maybe a rich for Indiana. In that case I would say Hill could be a suitable SG and a cheaper PG with some size, Livingston or Vasquez would be pretty good.
Thus allowing some room to fill a bench (again).
Yours sincerely,
Disgruntled Pacers fan

PhillySports0ParticipantI can’t lie… I laughed at this post because most pacers fans thought their team was the next big thing with their current roster and now people want them to clean house.

festar35ParticipantI can’t blame you for laughing, but what would you do if you were Indiana. Would you want to be a middling team which is what they seem to be or break it down and build again, this time with a guy like Paul George to build around.
Paul came into this team at the end essentially, now you can use him and put the players you want around him. Get an off ball scorer, a PG that quietly goes about running an offense, isn’t spectacular just does his work. Find a low post scorer who can be that other part of George’s outside game.
They have that guy to build around and if they can find him a big to go with George like Monroe.

PhillySports0ParticipantFirst they gotta see what’s up with Hibbert is it a confidence thing or is the NBA finally exposing him.. The trio or Rondo-PG-Monroe is very tempeting but not sure Indiana will pay all that. As a fan of Lance since High School he might be better off somewhere else he’s a great player and only 23 but I dont think Indiana wants to keep him because the ball sticks in his hand like it does with Evan Turners.

vulture711ParticipantYou are correct sir – that bandwagon looks like the Titanic with people leaping off left and right. They don’t have a lot of depth and maybe Granger’s presence, if not ability, meant somethning

Ghost01ParticipantNo question a shakeup was needed, I respect Vogel but the bottomline is this is the biggest in season collapse in league history, if they lose Game 6 I think he is gone.
I also think a team will pay Stephenson and due to recent developments the Pacers will be more keen on letting him go.
They may need to trade Hibbert, they may need to completely rebuild this team around George. But again, we should let the series play out before any conclusions are made.

For_Never_EverParticipantI like Lance Stephenson, but he is overrated the fact that people think he can be the man for a franchise. They should keep him if another team doesn’t overpay for him. This team biggest weakness is at the PG position, and a major factor why this team doesn’t function well when everyone doesn’t have they’re A game going.

Ghost01ParticipantAlso, I think Bird should be held responsible too.
There is no doubt he got all the credit in the world for putting together what looked to be a contender. But he gets no blame for the fact the Evan Turner trade was a major bust and at the very least messed up the chemistry a little bit.
He also didn’t build a very smart team. They needed a bench scorer type, and he couldn’t find one. Ironically, he had Gerald Green and DJ Augustin last year and they were both awful, now this year both of them were solid bench scorers. They needed a more versatile big man in the rotation, but instead he just brought in the poor man’s West to be the backup PF and the poor man’s Hibbert to be the back up C. They have no "flex" players who can play multiple spots and stretch the floor other than Copeland, who barely played all year.
Nothing is more telling then the fact I saw Pacer fans on twitter excited how Copeland played and didn’t understand why he doesn’t play more. He was 2-7.

imAboutDatActionParticipantcant blame him for Green and Augustine.
like you said, they didnt do nothing for the Pacers last year. the coaches didnt develop them right. both players are in a perfect spot system and coaching wise. the Suns run a fun fast pace, which Green thrived in. the Pacers runs the opposite offense. Thibs has a history of making PG’s look real good.

For_Never_EverParticipantEveryone thought they would and should have done something at the PG position during the off season because it is weakest position for them. Watson is a good backup, but he has always been plagued with injuries. The Pacers would have to give up at least two players for something worth quality it could be Goerge Hill with anyone on the starting lineup, other then Paul Goerge.

Mr. HookShotParticipantComments about trading Hibbert are nonense in my opinion: he has basically reached an all-time low trade value right now. The thing with players like Hibbert (defensive Cs) is that they could be very valuable on defense, when they play against another big men. However, considering Hibbert is not very good offensively there is no need whatsoever for the opponent (Hawks) to put a big guy in the game to contain Hibbert. That is why they are able to put shooting big men on the floor which negates the effect Hibbert can have on defense. His horrible play is a result of lack of offensive game, horrible match-up (although in the regular season he also struggled) and most importantly lack of confidence (especially on offense). I say they should be patient with Hibbert and hope he will return to his old form.
If they want to improve, they should look for a PG who can give the rest of the team the ball when they need it the most, a good distributor to replace Hill. Question is which passing PGs are available who could play starter minutes for the Pacers?

For_Never_EverParticipantI agree what he brings is irreplacable outside of everyone other then Paul Goerge. It’s easier to replace the other parts, but not him. His competitiveness bothers me though.

festar35ParticipantInteresting thing I just found out, Kyle Korver has missed 11 games this year for the Hawks, in those games the Hawks are 1-10. In the middle of that he missed 6 games in a row that they lost all of and won 5 straight immediately before.

he’s not a liability out there anymore. he gives full effort and is actually repectable.

capshati23ParticipantIt really annoys me when people constantly try and blame lance stephenson for the pacers struggles the reason the ball is in his hands so much is because the team has no point guard.hes pretty much the only player on the team that creates shots for his teammates hes not a selfish player he lead the team in assist. I honestly feel that if they had a point guard alot of there problems would be fixed but i really dont know what people expect lance to do. Yes at time he holds the ball a little long but again he is still learning the game the kid is 23 years old most players with his talent have that problem he will get better but to say to trade him is crazy to me let him and paul george grow together.

SpaceghostParticipantPacers fans.. Did you notice that Once Espn and other media Outlets starting putting the Microphone in fron t of Roy Hibbert his play started declining. The pacers will beat the Hawks.. but this kinda pressure is what happens when you anoint teams and players who are not ready..PG is tough nice player.. but stop stop the lebron comparisons. I do think Paul is a lil caught up in the glamor of being a big name.. The chics the socia media all the groupies and such. Lance Stevenson..LOL this guy is ready to cash in.. he wants the Money..Its always been about the name on the back for Lance..George Hill.. umm what can you really say..I mean he put his name on a good AAU program.thats bout it.. When they come back and win this series and they WILL.. I think the Wizards will beat them and alot of changes must be made. Get that goofy money stealing retard Andrew Bynum away from ur team and your bench.. Lance will be leaving cuz he wants the cash and wants to be THE MAN. Evan Turner..smh Yikes.. Larry legend this is your fault tho.. Danny Granger trade will always haunt this team..

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantNothing quite makes a fan want to overhaul a roster like falling victim to a 30-point quarter from Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack.
By the way, what a quarter.
Atlanta is not a great team, but have gotten tremendous performances from unexpected places. DeMarre Carroll came into the league as a worker bee energy guy whose rookie option was not picked up. He is not the story of a guy you would expect to be a series changer in the playoffs, but to his infinite credit has put in the work to become a solid player who in their three wins has been huge. I liked Mike Scott coming out of Virginia, but I didn’t expect him to be sticking threes and taking the life out of a title contender like this. One expects Kyle Korver to be dangerous when he gets clean looks. Paul Millsap has been a load in the playoffs before. Spread floors and pulled away big men make lives for scoring guards easier. It is a very Spurs thing though when it is the guys at the middle and bottom of the roster that devastate an opponent. It is more of a gut punch when it is Danny Green, a hefty Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner, or Gary Neal hitting you for a big game.

Jr. ROXASParticipantYes, it IS a very Spurs thing that they bring out the absolute best from all their players; considering the fact their coach Mike Budenholzer was once Pop’s top assistant. I really feel that throughout the series, all the focus and spotlight was given to Indy’s fallout that not much credit is being given to the Hawks, most especially their coach Budenholzer. He is one of the most underrated coaches in this league, making the most out of D-leaguers and past bench warmers. The guy will be one of the league’s top coaches in the years to come for sure.
