TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI watched their Press Conference and I noticed Stern is sort of a d!ck. He literally answered every single question with irreverence. I mean every question. I always liked Stern but he has lost all the charm he once had. Both of them acted like they where in a press conference after they got DUI’s or beat their wife. Every question annoyed them.
This may not be a forum worthy topic but I thought I should mention it and see if anybody else saw it. Never would have thought I would have cared about a commissioner either way, but I ‘m glad Stern is on his way out, he is getting surly.

aarondsonixfanParticipantBelieve me, every person in Seattle thinks that Stern is a d!ck too. You’re not the only one

Lotto StudParticipantWho will take over as new Commissioner?

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantSilver will take over for Stern and he said he hasn’t even thought of who would be his deputy commissioner at all. Stern said he only considered one person (Silver) to replace him, he hasn’t thought of who he would have under Silver yet once Silver becomes commissioner. The shadow of Stern will loom on for some time.

rabidsnowmanParticipantHas always been the most vile, evil, pig-headed little **** of a commissioner, and one of, if not the, worst commissioners in major sports. I’ve felt for quite some time that the only league that was nearly as corrupted by Vegas as professional boxing was the NBA….and in particular, the NBA under Stern. The NBA playoffs (and Finals in particular) are nearly unwatchable anymore, as you can tell right from the start which team is pre-determined to win. There’s more mystery in pro wrestling, for crying out loud. For the true conspiracy buffs out there, there’s the whole Michael Jordan fiasco…was he going to be suspended for sports gambling, or did the greatest (and most passionate about his sport) player ever decide during his prime he didn’t want to play? They should have named him David Slick after smoothing that one over.
Adam Silver taking over is just a means to an end. Stern can’t run the show forever, and Silver keeps the current connections intact. This to me is the most telling detail. If organized crime has its talons into the NBA cash cow (of course it does) then maintaining the status quo is the top priority. Therefore, Stern insists on naming his successor…for better or worse.

aramboneParticipantand thats why they are surly and impatient in press conference. Heirs to meyer lansky and bugsy seigal. neither stern nor silver likely made 4 consecutive free throws in their life, if they ever tried. No respect for the game or its integrity.

aramboneParticipantthis is the mega law firm where Silver’s father was a partner:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proskauer_Rosethey represent every single pro league in the US. The sports world is one big Familia. Stern was lead lawyer for the nba while working under silvers father at proskaur rose.
Now we know how David Kahn got a job as a GM. He was a lawyer for proskaur rose, a made man.0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/21/2013 - 5:25pm #779485

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantIt may be some time away but its going to happen sooner or later. The Euro Conference is coming, imagine if Tony Parker played for France or the Gasol’s for Spain. Whole nations could bolster teams.
