It is pretty hard to say for sure when we haven’t really seen Saric play in the association.

But, over the next 5 years I would guess that Harri Barnes does better. Ben Simmons is in the way of Saric’s playing time (unless he transitions to PG). Harrison will get big minutes from next season, and in a year or two when Dirk retires Harrison will get every opportunity to produce.

    Over ten years? No idea.

The people that do analysis were saying Saric projects to be a role player. Whereas Barnes would have been a starter out of NC if he hadn’t gone to Golden State. He also had to split time with Iggy. Saric’s highlights say otherwise and if compared based on the highlights Saric looks like the better player. Time will tell….

Don’t think were will be oppurtunity for Saric in Philly with how loaded with young talent they are upfront, and I think if they try and play him as a 3 he will get eaten alive on defense. He will need a change kf scenery to be more then a Boris Diaw role player type

#2 rated Spain I came away with two conclusions.

First, Simmons and Saric will not limit each other b/c they don’t play the same position.

Simmons is going to function much more on the perimter at the offensive end as a pure PG or a Hybrid 3 – whereas Saric is PF who can play some Wing b/c of his passing. But Saric can not penetrate so he will be in that paint as more of a disruptor on the Defensive & Offensive boards

Second, Saric went toe to toe w/ Pao Gasol & Nicoli Mirotic the enire game for Croatia & although Saric demonstrated poor shooting, I was very impressed w/ his play/ He was very mature & showed great leadership by doing all the dirty work every team needs players to do to stay in games & it was Very impressive.

While Saric will Never be an NBA level Star – he IS clearly one of the Stars of the Croatian National Team & there was Not even a hint of Prima Donna to Saric’s game. He never tried to force his shot or "Big Time" teammates. Saric set pics, crashed the boards (often keeping rebounds alive for Others to retrieve), moved constantly withOut the ball & played Non-stop aggressive & physical Defense. I can see Saric as a very talented & intelligent "glue Guy" in the NBA.

And he was rewarded for his efforts as he correctly read a beautifully set up Spanish in-bounds play for Pao Gasol as a young Croatian Center got lost on a rub & Gasol came wide open off the screen for what would have been a game tie-ing little 3 foot bunny which was right on line & Saric correctly diagnosed what Spain intended, left his man & came out of no where to make an Incredible Shot Block as time expired, preserving a Big upset for Croatia

Saric can not shoot or score like Mirotic – but he does ALL the other things that Mirotic does Not do. Not everyone on the team can score 20 points a night in the NBA & I came away Very impressed with Saric. He is going to fit beautifully on that Phila 76ers team & along w/ Ben Simmons, Saric appears very mature for his age & he is all about the Team. Saric doesn’t possess the natural athleticism or shot making ability that Barnes does but he has a very high basketball ball IQ & he can be Effective in So many ways without the ball. He is going to fit nicely on the 76ers & Phila is going to be a Fun team to watch grow

He got my respect when he had his teeth knocked out on the court a couple of seasons ago and got up and played.

I think Barnes may be the better shooter and score more ppg but I like Saric. Saric is a bit more versatile.

As long as his attitude is kept in check, Saric should be a good player in the league. He does all the other things well to help his team win….

Barnes has had 4 years in the NBA already although he is only two years older than Saric, Barnes is a SF whilst Saric is a PF who may play some SF. We’ll see what sort of scoring Barnes can produce at Dallas this season whilst Saric will not be a top shooting option for Philly initially.

I give Barnes the athleticism and shooting advantage but Saric has size and should be a better rebounder and might be a better passer too.

At the moment Barnes is better but Saric is far better value salarywise. I’d recompare them in about 2 years time.
