is it just me or does anybody else think that his 7 3pters made in his first game say anything… 21 pts out of 22 came from 3pt land…. i know ive said some bad things about him before but i guess i was wrong… hes averaging a STAGGERING 5 3pters a game so far.. i know its only 2 games in but im betting he leads the league in 3’s… especially if dantoni starts him…

He can hit that, thats why he was brought into the NBA

But the real question surrounding him is can he do anything else?
He seems allergic to the paint, bad defensively, and hesitant to do anything else

If all he can bring to the NBA is shooting 3s, then hes nothing more than a 6’10 Jason Kapono

a 6,10 Jason Kapono wouldn’t be all that bad. But let’s remember the kid is something like 19 or 20 years old. He will probably never be a banger or great rebounder but he’ll put on some weight and man up a little…… eventually. Until then, bombs away

anyone remember detlef schrempf, great shooter, and can make plays for his team, never was a banger or great rebounder. career 14 points, 3 assists and 4 rebounds, i think danilo can put up a little better numbers than that like 20, 5, 5, so for a lottery pick that’s good to me.

yeah but those will be shallow numbers because new york is a bad team. detleph was good on very good teams and a 3 time allstar..i dont see gallinari as even a one time allstar

For me it’s too early I haven’t seen enough of him to make any long term predictions, but the one thing I do see is that he is the only player on the knicks who has a genuinely good feel for the game and makes intelligent good basketball plays. I think in the long run he is a solid player who will help a team win games.

If he was a little quicker he could be very good player has great size and could shoot, plus the 3’s look nice for him and if he plays the 4 he spreads the floor where Duhon and Lee could do their pick n’ roll. Mike D’ Antoni said he could be in the startin lineup so my prediction is to watch out for him and could average a good 15 ppg because his minutes increased and is injury-free this season which is a concern and is still young and could play a breakout season.

You don’t draft a 6’10 Jason Kapono with the 6th overall pick in a strong draft.

give him time he’s young and he has shown heart to take and make big shots
a lot of europeans don’t do that he will learn to play American style ball but it doesn’t help that the
Knicks play a style that doesn’t emphasize DEFENSE

They blew the pick could’ve been franchise type Center in Lopez. Besides Harrington he’s the only guy on the team who can hit 3’s. If they had a guy who commanded double teams he’s be deadly shooter. He’s still young, the Knicks stink now but in a few years they’ll be good. He barely played last season anyway.

since they are the knicks i give it a 50/50 chance that they will be better in a few years

first of all gallo is a lot more versatile than kapono. for the people that watch the games you notice that he is also a great passing big man and can bring the ball up and yes while he has not displayed much of an interior game he is still young and fairly weak. Give the man a few more years to bulk up. And yes that is worth a lottery pick because once he settles in imagine the mismatches he can create with that height and that shot. Im going to get crucified for this but i would still take gallo over brook if there is a redraft, i think gallo is going to be a star soon. you have to keep in mind that he has only played 30 games. Lopez may have pout up crazy numbers against an awful wolves team, but just like i predicated he was almost invisible playing against a legitimate center.

Watch, everyone will be surprised at how good a defender he’ll be. He already tries on this end, and someone with his physical gifts will only get better with time. I think comparing his upside to Kapono is underrating him. Think Mike Miller when he played for Memphis, that’s an accurate comparison to the player I think he’ll grow to be.
