HaleParticipantI’m blaming my bracket failures strictly on you! New Mexico in the final 4, Pitt didn’t even have a chance to get to Gonzaga, let alone beat them. You said St. Louis sucked (thank god I didn’t listen), you made me switch G-Town and I’m now super confident that they will be awesome because you said they suck. I turned my back on Marquette because they were an overseeded 3 in your words. I don’t know why the hell I valued your opinion so much, and I will never listen to you about a bracket again because you single-handedly destroyed me this year. Rant complete

Leonard WashingtonParticipantHilarious…thats March Madness for you. Crazy $hit happens every year.

drk3351Participantthat’s pretty funny, I would have made one of just your opinion, than one, Dale advised. The only pick I’m mad about is picking Pittsburgh of Wichita State, only because I was first picked Wichita State than though otherwise. New Mexico I only had to Sweet 16 so I’m not that mad.

HaleParticipantIt was mostly my opinion but Dale tends to watch a lot of games and his opinion was the tipping point in a couple of my more questionable games…and none of them worked out.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantSorry bud! I usually dominate in the NCAA Tournament, but seriously,
A) You didn’t HAVE to take my advice
B) This is ONLY Day 1 of The TourneyThat being said, I hope you do well from here on out. The West Region is absolutely terrible and if a low-seeded team emerges, which very well could happen, Pitt and New Mexico croaking early won’t hurt us.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantP.S., I’m honored you took my advice. I’ve been following College Hoops closely all year and everything I said regarding these teams has been valid. New Mexico and Pitt playing this poorly has been shocking. Saint Louis looked awesome today against a terrible team. Wait until they play someone real. Gonzaga looked awful against a terrible team and they should have lost.

theprophetParticipantst louis is not terrible btw.

theprophetParticipantgeorgetown has a chance to make the final four. but in one of my ten brackets i have florida gulf coast pulling the upset. they did beat miami (fl) earlier in the year, so the game should be a lot closer than people realize.

aamir543ParticipantI don’t know about you guys but I got Marshall Henderson taking his rebels all the way. And yes I am sane. Although I haven’t had more than 5 hours of sleep any weeknight the past 2 weeks so maybe my brain processing is slightly impaired.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 7:40am #756800
HaleParticipantOutside of a 16 seed I don’t see anything more unlikely then that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 7:42am #756801
NbanflguyParticipantha sorry aamir, but if you actually believe that you are not sane. Henderson is not good. He is just as likely to shoot his team out of a game than in to a game. Any guard in the country could average 20 ppg if they took 11 3’s per game. His percentages suck to because he takes stupid a$$ shots.

scbe2223Participant1-11 at halftime and he is launching shots from everywhere

llperezYou forgot to add that Dale said the PAC 12 sucks. We can all be wrong, but Dale dug himself quite the whole with opening day. Missed on everything
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/21/2013 - 7:54pm #756695
HaleParticipantAnd I bought in…I knew I should’ve made more then one bracket.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 8:24am #756819
Dale WorthingtonParticipantThe Pac-12 was bad this year. Again, that claim was based on 4 months of information/data, not 1 day.
Anytime a 12 team power conference has one ranked team, and that one ranked team has no point guard and no reliable post presence, it’s a bad conference.
Point.Blank.Period.
The Pac-12 was awesome yesterday but that doesn’t change the fact that it performed poorly from November 1 through March 20.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 9:14am #756844
llperezNo, it wasn’t. Arizona, ucla and Oregon were all top 25 at points. And all 3 of those teams started 3-4 freshman/ transfers. Teams improve as the season progresses when they have new parts that have to mesh. Of course you have to actually watch games to see that ad not just look at stats. All I’ve heard u bring up to discredit the PAC was stats and how zona is the only team to rank highly. The quality of play was good. Not great, but far from bad like u have suggested. I noticed asu and Stanford both are advancing in the nit as well, march isn’t a fluke.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantUCLA lost to Cal Poly at home.
‘Nuff said.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:01am #756882
llperezIf that’s as deep as your knowledge goes, , then it’s no wonder your insight so far has been terrible. Guess what, ucla without shabbazz played horrible vs indiana st and still win by almost 30. Indiana st then beat teams like creighton and Miami, so that means those teams must be absolute garbage. Oh wait, that’s right, one game doesn’t represent a team.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:01am #756883
alingeParticipantKansas lost to TCU, therefore the big 12 must be garbage, using your logic. Don’t mean to be rude but you claimed Pitt were a top 15 team and anyone with 2 working eyes could see they were terrible, the Pac-12 was a good conference this year and the seeding of Oregon, California and Colorado was stupid
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 1:08pm #756942
Dale WorthingtonParticipantPitt was a top 15 team over the course of the regular season and Big East Tournament.
Fact.
Them playing like garbage doesn’t change that fact.
Fact.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 1:21pm #756944
alingeParticipantThey were 3-6 against ranked teams this year
Fact.
They lost to a miserable Rutgers team
Fact.
Pitt’s SOS was 71st in the country
Fact
You claiming they were a top 15 team is laughable
Fact

aamir543ParticipantThe two worst brackets in our group are Dale and Joe Wolf…..that’s ridiculous considering to me their two of the most knowledgable posters about the college game.
And Ole Miss looks primed for the Sweet 16 as they’ll probably play LaSalle next, mark my words Henderson will TAKE OVER the tourney.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:43am #756900
Dale WorthingtonParticipantThanks bud. I appreciate that. Joe Wolf is my favorite poster on this site FWIW. Sometimes, things just don’t pan out. Fortunately, that WEST region is being blown up. As long as the rest of my 6 Elite Eight squads survive, I get the Final Four, and then Indiana ends up facing The Ville in the Championship, I’ll be good.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:46am #756905
BigChamp12ParticipantThe reason i like Ole Miss so much is that they really play good and physical defense which allows Henderson to jack up a lot of shots. People dont like him, but i enjoy watching him. He’s a personality that is stands out and requires you to watch him whether you like him or not. I love the Q and A interview they showed with him on ESPN. He was asked What is a good shot for Marshall Henderson? He answered “Any and every shot.” He is who he is. A glorified chucker, but he’s been that all year.
I picked them to go to the Elite 8 and lose to Ohio State, I can see it happening.Oh yea, Lebron tweeted about him also!
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 11:59am #756913
Dale WorthingtonParticipantI really like watching Marshall Henderson play as well but the thing that separates them and really works in their favor is the fact that they have 2 guys who can bang. That’s an absolute rarity in the college game.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 12:25pm #756932
BigChamp12ParticipantExactly, they are big and tough inside and can physically compete with anybody in College Basketball. I’m looking forward to seeing how Kelly Olynyk responds to the physical play of Reginald Buckner

Ghost01ParticipantMost of Dale’s pre-draft advice was based on teams with point guards and bigmen who can rebound. What he forgets is this is a single elimination tournament where small teams that get hot from 3 win more games than they should all the time.
There’s no exact science to guessing what will happen, especially this season. So I have no problem with logical analysis, but statements like “Pitt will absolutely beat Gonzaga, no doubt” are just stupid.
0- Posted on: Fri, 03/22/2013 - 1:07pm #756941
Dale WorthingtonParticipantExactly. Because that’s where most teams are flawed — either at the point or in the post.
I fully expect Florida Gulf Coast to beat Georgetown tonight (12:30 left in the 1st half) because Georgetown is mediocre at the point and weak down low.
