    http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2014-D-League-Draft-Eligible-Player-List-4767/

The NBA D-League Draft will be take place tomorrow 3:30PM ET. This year looks like a very loaded class with a number of players with NBA Experience and 7 players who will be eligible for next year’s NBA Draft. Here’s a look at some of the notable names on this list:

Marquis Teague: Starting PG for the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats team that won the NCAA Tournament. 1st round pick in 2012, has shown decent signs of potential in his short career. Teague was waived by the 76ers last week immediately after being acquired in a trade.

Robert Covington: Spent last year with the Houston Rockets as an undrafted rookie. Played the majority of his rookie season in the D-League last year where he earned the league’s Rookie of the Year Award and was named 1st Team All D-League as well. A surprise cut in the Rockets’ training camp looking to soon find a new team.

Erik Murphy: The former Florida Gator was a 2nd round pick in 2013 where he spent most of his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls. Failed to make the Boston Celtics roster after an impressing summer playing for Finland in the World Championships.

Elliot Williams: Williams, the 2010 1st round pick had a good year last season playing for one of the NBA’s worst teams. Also had a good run in the preseason, waived by Philadelphia a few weeks ago, to clear up a roster spot for guys like JaKarr Sampson and Chris Johnson with smaller contracts.

Joonas Caven: Would have been automatically eligible for the 2015 Draft, being an International prospect born in 1993, but took a huge sacrifice, yet smart move increasing his draft stock playing in the NBA’s system for less money. The 6’11 SF originally declared for this year’s NBA Draft but withdrew his name, for probably this reason. Really looking forward to seeing if he could possibly pull off a Thanasis Antetokounmpo, getting drafted out of the D-League after coming from Europe.

Milos Milisavljevic: Another would have been automatically eligible prospect in next year’s draft, accepting a smaller contract to increase their chances of making the NBA. Milos was one of the final cuts for Serbia’s national team this summer that ultimately lost to Team USA in the Gold Medal game. A tall PG listed as one of the better young prospects in Europe. I really hope this is becoming a trend for players coming from overseas to increase their odds of making the NBA. Rumored to be a lock to be drafted by Santa Cruz with one of their three 1st rounders.

Naadir Tharpe: Kansas’ Starting PG last year, originally intended to transfer but has now changed his mind and decided to pursue a professional career. Wasn’t too impressed with his play in Lawrence as he barely looked better than Frank Mason and Conner Frankamp, but maybe the D-League could be more suited for his game.

David Stockton: The son of the Hall of Famer really came through a lot of adversity at Gonzaga as he originally walked on and redshirted his freshman year. Stockton then ultimately started his senior year for the Zags as he then earned himself a training camp invite from the Washington Wizards. Although he was cut before having the chance to appear in a preseason game, the young Stockton has not given up his dreams of playing in the NBA just yet.

Ben Hansbrough: Former College All-American at Notre Dame and younger brother of Tyler Hansbrough. Spent one year on the Indiana Pacers’ bench and has had multiple stints with teams in Europe since then, but now pursuing a career in the D-League after being cut by the Chicago Bulls.

Chane Behanan: Member of the 2013 Louisville Cardinals National Championship team whose collegiate career was cut short due to his drug addictions. The former McDonalds All-American then committed to transfer to Colorado State (Guess why?) but then changed his mind and entered last year’s NBA Draft and unsurprisingly went undrafted.

Chris Smith: Probably the worst player to make an NBA roster in recent years. The younger brother of JR Smith played at Louisville and finished collegiate career at almost 25.

Yuki Togashi: A little confused how his rights didn’t automatically go to the Texas Legends (Training camp cut by Dallas). The 5’7 Japanese PG once had an attempt of playing in the NCAA as he played at Montrose Christian, but didn’t receive one D-1 offer. Why? The same reason how Jeremy Lin was named 1st Team All-State in California and didn’t get a D-1 offer either. Togashi then took his talents back to Japan as he then was one of the better players in the Japanese League, a league filled with players with NBA and Big Conference D1 experience.

Eloy Vargas: As a Kentucky fan, I laughed when I saw his name on the list. The Dominicano was also a member of the 2012 National Championship team as he failed to get minutes even as a 24 year old big man, on a team that lacked of size. Although he looked alright for his Dominican Republic squad over the summer, still surprised to see that he believes he can pursue an NBA career.

Luther Head: The 1st round pick from about 10 years ago had a longer than brief NBA career with mainly the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers. Actually got solid minutes at the beginning of his NBA career but then really went down hill fast due to injuries and ended up out of the league.

Todd Mayo: The younger brother of OJ Mayo spent his last three seasons at Marquette. Averaged 11 ppg last year and originally intended to transfer after being dismissed from the team. Now playing in the NBA’s system, Mayo is one of the 7 players who will be eligible for next year’s draft, hoping to hear their names called tomorrow.

Ashton Gibbs: The former All-Big East selection somewhat surprisingly went undrafted in 2012. As he had the option join an NBA Team’s training camp with a non guaranteed contract, Gibbs immediately went to Europe, pursuing more money. Gibbs, now 24 is finally pursuing his run at making the NBA.

Ricardo Barbosa: The 1994 born International prospect from Brazil will automatically qualify as an early entrant for next year’s draft, coming to the D-League. Played for the same club as Bruno Caboclo (Pinheros) and related to Leandro? I don’t know if he is, but I love seeing the D-League expand with all of these International guys coming these days.

Jamal Jones: Led Texas A&M in scoring last season as JUCO transfer who had also played at Ole Miss. After also originally intending to transfer like Tharpe and Mayo, Jones decided to increase his stock by playing in an organization surrounded by NBA Scouts, rather than going to a smaller school.

Jarvis Threatt: The 21 year old PG led his Delaware Blue Hens in scoring with 18 ppg. After being kicked off of his school’s team, the so far unheard of prospect will now be trying to make a name for himself, playing at a way higher level of competition.

Brady Heslip: The undersized sharpshooting SG from Baylor was cut by the Minnesota Timberwolves in training camp. The nephew of former NBA player Jay Triano has already represented Canada’s National team and still wants to see what his outside shot could offer in the league.

Kind of a disappointing group IMO…but it is the D-league.

Appreciate the post because I’ve been waiting for them to release the prospects.
