Dream match up, who will have the better stats and who will win the series?

I got Steph for better numbers and the win in 6!

I feel like Westbrook is so competitive that he finds it hard to play under control. This will ultimately give Steph and the warriors the win.

Westbrook has shot sub 34% on 23 shots a game across the last 2 seasons against Golden State- I expect Russ to be a huge influence on who wins this series, he’s going to shoot OKC either in or out of the Finals, and I’m prone to thinking it will be the latter with how strong GS is at the moment.

My money is on the Warriors but I would love to see KD win his first ring so I’m going with the Thunder here. KD won’t let this opportunity pass by again even if it is against the Warriors.

in all 3 gms,the games were tied in the 4th quarter and okc has dominated the boards…gs dont have an answer for kd.and okc outplays them when all of the okc starters are on the floor…

so if donovan can do a better good coaching. thunder have a great chance to win the series..donavan made a few mistakes that cause the team the wins, like sometimes he opens quarters without westbrook on the floor.and kd was forced to bring the ball up.their offense slowed down  and it lead to turnovers and easy buckets for gs.

in the feb.27 collapse thunder were up by 11 with 4 minutes left, donovan ordered his team to milk the clock.he also went deep into his bench and gave minutes to players that werent producing.

^ exactly. People don’t remember that Kyle Singler played every crunch time minute in that game, guarding either Klay or Steph every possession and giving up huge buckets. If we had the Westbrook-Waiters-Durant-Kanter-Adams lineup in, we would’ve won at least that one for sure, and possibly the game at Oracle

Pulling for thunder and defenitely think they can win but if I had to put my money on it I would go with the Warriors. Should be a great series. Everyone talked about how the Warriors got to play bs injury riddled teams last year and now we get to see them take on a legit contender at full strength. All eyes on curry vs Westbrook regardless if they matchup or not.

I wouldnt put money on it, but I got OKC in 7.. Adams has played great in the Spurs series, dominating the boards, and the Spurs played big.. GS will get dominated on the boards that’s for sure.. I feel like it’s a great opportunity for Kevin Durant to proves his name still belongs in the best player discussion..

Now for the thunder, they ain’t facing the terrible guards of the spurs, it’s the best backcourt in the league, best shooting backcourt in the history of the game.

Curry on one leg is head and shoulders better than parker, mills, ginobili were against the thunder(21 pts combined) and he’ll guard roberson.

Waiters, KD and kanter weren’t exposed on D by the spurs, turnovers weren’t costly either, not the case against the warriors.

Spurs averaged less than 7 threes per game, they scored 101+ pts in one game…the 1st.

7 threes in a half if not a quarter, and 101+ pts in every games is almost a certainty for the warriors.

Blazers were a little pain in the ass for the warriors because they were outstanding from three, 14 treys per game, very high percentage, and their backcourt averaged 53 PPG.

Thunder allowed 119 PPG to the warriors in RS, they lost a game while outrebounding them by 30 !!!, or 37 FTA to 20, they always won the rebound-FTA battles, Durant was out of his mind, 36+, 12+ 6+ , 2, 1 while shooting 53%, they still lost all 3 games….nothing new on the horizon.

I like the contrast tho, Thunder have nothing to lose(contrary to the warriors), their season is already OK, warriors a little banged up.

Thunder star power, high ball, rebounding and free throw shooting VS versatility, passing(27), 3 pts shooting(40+% from 9 players), depth(11 deep), steph, klay, dray.

At the end of the day, thunder’s weaknesses should be exposed.

Lack of 3 pts shooting(8 per game, low %), depth(8 players), team D, versatility…IQ(lack of ball handlers, decision makers, WestB and KD are making 70+% of the assists, kanter with 3 assists in 238 mins, ibaka-adams career 0,5 APG, barely more for roberson, Waiters is dumb, no back up PG).

I would really like a sick game 7, but warriors in 6.

For the people saying the Warriors are going to get dominated inside–What makes you think that? This is what the warriors do. They go small and they run people off the court. I would be shocked if the thunder could manage to keep Adams and Kanter on the floor together. One pick and roll and Steph has a matchup he will be licking his chops with. The Warriors are a completely different matchup than the spurs and I don’t think Adams and Kanter will be able to have the same effect playing together as they did against the spurs. With that being said, I still think it will be a great series, with 4-5 top 15 players in the league matching up in this series. Give me the Warriors in 6.

It’s going to be a very good series, but I’m hoping the Thunder pull it off. They arguably played the Warriors better than anyone else during the regular season with some seriously close games, even if they lost them all. Thunder are notoriously bad in the 4th which didn’t help their battles against the Warriors, however in the playoffs as of late the Thunder have been stepping up their 4th quarter game. If OKC can keep up their 4th quarter momentum I think they have a very good chance to win this series.

Steph is literally unguardable. And if he has a bad game its not because someone has locked him up, its because he’s missing his shots. I’ve seen Westbrook get locked up though. The difference between the two teams is that OKC needs Durant and Westbrook to have four great games. If Curry has an off night, the Warriors can still play. Factoring in the others vs. the others, GS wins.

20 years ago, the greatest regular season team (the ’96 Bulls) played a really, really good Sonics team for the NBA title.

I know that this is the WCF and not the NBA Finals, and the Sonics have since moved to OKC, so this isn’t really a "Sonics" team, but this should be a heavy weight fight.

I want to say that Russ is an all-around better player than Steph.  Definitely more physical and athletic.  Who knows?

Durant vs. Klay, a battle of second options, I am taking Durant.

Might come down to third options: Draymond vs. Ibaka.  If Ibaka can really get going, and block a ton of shots, then I like OKC’s chances.  OKC MUST limit Draymond’s field goal attempts.  Don’t let him dominate the game — either on offense, or on the boards, or even emotionally.

The Thunder are kind of built like the original Bulls 3peat teams.  Two uber superstars in their prime, a decent 3rd guy power forward, and lots of length, size, and athleticism down the roster.  If they can get a few of their extras to make some timely 3’s, then the Thunder might come out of the Western Conference’s top-heavy gauntlet.

If I am the Thunder I look for Serge Ibaka a lot.  Get the big man going.

He needs 5 and 5 every game.  5 blocks — and 5 dunks.

Then on defense, I put him on Draymond Green.  Try to limit Draymond’s touches, rebounds, and overall effect on the game.  Make the Warriors a 2 man team.  Then rotate the other bigs in and out.  Hard fouls need to be made.

The Thunder might need to play Dion Waiters more.  Put Westbrook on on Steph Curry.  Put Durant on Klay Thompson.  Use Roberson off the bench as a stopper.  The Thunder need to start FOUR SCORERS along with an extra big.  They also need to dust off Nick Collison.  He is a smart player who can hustle, rebound, and hit mid-range jumpers.  Good at ball movement, too.

Morrow, Cam Payne, Roberson, Nick Collison, and Kanter are your bench mob.

If the Thunder go small, then I would go with Russ, Morrow, Roberson, Durant, and Ibaka.  Use Morrow to hit 3’s and space the floor.  Use Roberson like Iggy — extra defense, an extra athlete, and another guy to crash the boards.

Heck, I might start Nick Collison at the 4 for more mid-range shooting and passing plus experience, then put Ibaka at the other big man spot.  This gives the Thunder a bit more versatility on offense and some more veteran experience/leadership.  What they lose with not having Steven Adam’s length, size, and defense on the floor, they make up for in spacing and ball movement.  Then you also go REALLY BIG off the bench with Kanter and Adams.  That would give OKC a Grit ‘n Grind second unit.  Those two bigs along with Roberson, Cam Payne at point (or another backup point guard), and a shooter (Morrow).

The Thunder role players (other than Nick Collison’s midrange game) should either be under the basket for dunks and offense rebounders or camped out at the 3 point line.

Westbrook gets away with a major travel, if the game comes down to this, expect a lot of criticism from the refs. Can the Thunder win a close game without cheating?

you seem salty, GSW lost that game, they didnt shoot well in the 4th, that’s it.. Pretty boy Curry’s shooting squad got exposed tonight. And to be honest, GSW shouldn’t complain about missed calls, they broke the record for most illegal screens in a season, and they’ve been pretty much protected all season by refs.. We’ll find soon enough in the rule book that it’s illegal to physically touch Curry

Not salty, I don’t even care who wins this since I’m a Jazz fan, but I am just noticing missed calls and that Westbrook call could have been huge, overall, it was a good job by the refs, but that no-call could have changed the outcome.
