Current NBA top 10
Thanks for giving D-Will some love.
1. Kobe Bryant
2. LeBron James
3. Dwayne Wade
4. Dwight Howard
5. Kevin Garnett
6. Tim Duncan
7. Yao Ming
8. Dirk Nowitzki
9. Chris Paul
10. Deron Williams (Never been on an all-star team)
I cannot Agree on A.I but Duncan true. I wanted to put Duncan but in my eyes this is the "Current NBA top 10"
Duncan is a top 15 NBA all time player...but right now? No.
I mean, Even KG is a stretch.........
Duncan has to be there. I know his game has declined, but he still plays smart at both ends and leads that team. If we are guessing for the next year or two, then I would include Durant, but not as of this point. He needs to improve in a few areas, and scoring big on a bad team should'nt make you one of the best.
No..He build a good Team. He built a 66 win team who had the best record in the NBA.
The issue is Cleveland relied on LBJ and never got a true #2 option...I think they should add Richard Jefferson.
I think Im gonna move Garnett and put in Duncan.
Also, this is the Current NBA top 10, Put Durant on a team like Indiana or Charlotte, teams that had a chance and he would be getting more hype.
bryant
james
wade
paul
howard
duncan
anthony
roy
Dwilliams
garnett
honorable mention for guys who can enter this list next year:
rose
arenas
durant
stoudemire
when healthy he is top 10, but problem is he supposed to miss the first 30 games next year as well. By thime he get's healthy, you have to figure he will be rusty. Perimeter guys are slowly passing him while he sits. But he is a phenomanl talent when healthy, no question top 10.
ok, When I made these Top 10, not only IMO are these the Current best players in the L, these are the 10 guys i probably build my team around.
I would not build a team around T-mac. He could play very well when healthy but i wouldn't
well you never implied this is a list of who you would build around. That kinda changes things. I would'nt consider TMac top 10 either, but like the guy said, when healthy I would. But it's debatable and we never know when we will see a healthy TMac again. TMac get' a little too much hate imo.
I mean we could look it like this. I think T-mac is good, but he is on that list like Richard Jefferson- good players on bad teams.
Wade played 82 games last year on a underachieving team and dominated the L. He is IMO the number 2 guy in the L because we know he could win a ring.
I would take rose over Rondo right now. I think Rondo is a little overrated, I don't think rondo is top 5 pg right now. I fully expect Rose to be in the conversation with Paul and DWill maybe as soon as next year. One of the reason's Rondo puts up numbers is because teams don't try to gaurd him until he's 5 feet from the hoop. He's just benefitted from playing with 3 hall of famers.
I dunno. I think Right now you have to give him some love. He is a top 5 PG. He averaged a trip-doub in a playoff series man. I think Rose is right behind him at 6. Rose is a stud no doubt.
I think I would take Rose over Rondo but most people (including me) would say Rondo is better.
why is this in the NBA Draft section? follow instructions...that said, LBJ is the best player in the NBA. titles are not what determines who the best player or players are. championships are won by teams. putting LBJ at #3 is appalling.
i dont understand how u but Kevin Durant, a player on arguably the worst team in basketball, over Tim Duncan, Brandon Roy, Dirk, Chris Bosh, Pau Gasol (extremely underrated), Deron Williams, KG, and Paul Pierce. Here's my top ten:
1- Kobe: I love LeBron, but Kobe deserves it
2- LeBron: Will be number one next year and for the next ten years
3- D-Wade: Great player, the games i saw him play this year, he was phenomenal
4- Dwight Howard: Best big in the league and it appears to me that he is no longer a defensive player only who can only dunk, but now he is developing a little running hookshot
5- KG: Injuries are killing him, but he still is a dominant force
6- Chris Paul: Did not have the season i expected
7-Dirk Nowitzki: Can't argue with his production (25.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 2.4 apg)
8- Chris Bosh: Still developing, but is very talented scorer who averages 10+ rpg, despite his skinny stature
9- Paul Pierce: Did everything for the Celtics this year, proving he is worthy of being a top ten player by his playoff performance
10- Pau Gasol: Should be rated higher, but not 100% familiar with his game. His playoff performance, however, was great
Been a while since I made mine, started at the beginning of the year with positional. Here is a top 15:
1. Kobe Bryant
2. LeBron James (Who is very close to 1)
3. Dwyane Wade (who is far ahead of whoevers next)
4) Kevin Garnett
5) Chris Paul
6) Dwight Howard
7) Tim Duncan
8) Dirk Nowitzki
9) Paul Pierce
10) Amare Stoudemire
11) Yao Ming
12) Carmelo Anthony
13) Deron Williams
14) Tony Parker
15) Brandon Roy (who consistently gets destroyed by the two players above him, and yes, he does have some responsibility for it happening)
The next few: Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Baron Davis, Chauncey Billups, Caron Butler, Pau Gasol and Kevin Durant. Even though they were struck with injuries, Tracy McGrady, Elton Brand, Manu Ginobili, Gilbert Arenas and Carlos Boozer are up there as well. I hopefully will make a new list of top 100 and post it soon.
I like kotys list.not a huge celtics fan cause they knocked off my bulls but like that paul pierce is in there. just a few more guys you could think about throwing in.
Chauncey Billups- doesnt do it with the stats but his leadership and his intelligence
Ray Allen- definately an honorable mention but is the games best shooter
Tony Parker- i think is very under rated and kind of lives in the shadow of paul and deron williams
Danny Granger- Love his game he is my favorite young player in the game. but just an honorable mention for now
i have a feeling that if LBJ had won the championship, he would be #1 in most of your eyes. do you see the problem with this? the determination should not come so easily as "if Kobe wins, he's #1. if LBJ wins, he's #1" we have an entire season to draw from. huge bodies of work, yet we use 2 weeks of basketball and make our decisions. LBJ outplayed Kobe all year long, including the playoffs. Kobe wins the title, with a better team i would think, and that makes him better than LBJ? basically what you're saying is, if Lebron had a better team, you would consider him a better player. personally, i dont think its right...
think of it this way. if Lebron had Pau on his team and Kobe had Ilguaskas then how would you guys rate them? Lebron would probably have a ring on his finger. And whats preventing everyone to having Lebron at one is he hasnt won anything yet. MJ didnt win anything his first 7 years? maybe 6? So Lebron just needs a sidekick like Kobe has had and like MJ has had. Mo williams isnt that sidekick
pintar, i also like parker and billups, but it is so hard to make a list of top ten players; after the top four or five, the rest of the ten could b anyone based on personal opinion.
I never said that Kobe winning a title single handidly put Kobe ahead of LeBron becasue I felt that way already before the playoffs. But you have to admit that winning a title does have a small part in the equation when it is so close between two great players.
As far as LeBron outplaying Kobe this year, I do think LeBron deserved the MVP. But a lot of that was because LeBron played more and had to force his impact more. Kobe seemed to coast a little and only pick it up when he needed to, such as the Playoffs. LeBron was outplayed by Kobe both times they played this year. And I love how everyone says LeBron outplayed Kobe against the Knicks when Kobe had 61 and LeBron had the 50-10-9, but they don't point out that Kobe played 8 fewer miutes. I expect LeBron to surpass Kobe in the next 2-3 years, while I'm sure a lot of people already believe he has.
from what i remember Kobe and Lebron both played like &$#%#&@! head to head, but the Lakers won...LBJ even played better against the Magic than Kobe...LBJ hit more clutch shots in these playoffs. had bigger numbers across the board. the edge Kobe has is the all important ring, which the LAKERS won. the whole team. Ariza, Fischer, Gasol, & Odom played huge roles in that. how that series makes Kobe a better player than Lebron is beyond my comprehension. if LBJ had average 45-15-12 and lost would he still be #2 because Kobe got the ring. thats what it seems like because the CAVS loss was in no way the fault of Lebron, yet he's being penalized somehow.
the real top 10. does anybody on this site value defense? these are the top 10 players right now. not what they have done in the past.
1. lebron james- 35 pts 9 reb 7 ass in the playoffs. all-defensive team. mvp. cant wait for him to leave cleveland and get help.
2. kobe bryant- he got the ring this year. one year removed from the mvp. clutch. leader. all-defensive team.
3. dwayne wade- he put up better numbers than kobe but he had to. his team isn't as good.
4. dwight howard- the best big man, the best defensive player. if his offensive game gets better he could compete with lebron at the top spot. just isnt as polished as everybody above him.
5. dirk nowitski- one of the most impossible to guard players in the league. mismatch no matter who is guarding him. all-nba team. the experts say he is top 5 how can you argue against it.
6. chris paul- shoots 50% for a pg. 22 and 11. all-defensive team. makes people around him look better than they are.
7. tim duncan- leader. fundamentals. 2nd team all-defense. 20 and 10. knows how to play the game.
8. brandon roy- 22 5 and 5. rising star. hit big shots in playoffs. he still needs experience.
9. yao ming- shoots amazing percentages. doesnt take over enough. can he stay healthy? 20 and 10
10. paul pierce- year removed from finals mvp. looks like he lost a step but still knows how to play the game. clutch. leader.
top 10 by the end of next seasson
1. lebron james
2. kobe bryant
3. dwayne wade
4. dwight howard
5. chris paul
6. dirk nowitski (contract year)
7. brandon roy
8. tim duncan
9. pau gasol
10. carmelo anthony
gasol is in his prime. he had a great playoffs. carmelo is getting better. yao ming will get hurt again. pierce is getting too old. garnetts knee is too shaky or he would be up here.
Kobe was subpar head to head, but was sick one game and I believe dislocated his finger in the other(could be wrong about that one), but LeBron was absolute garbage both games. Yes he played great in the Playoffs, but he was far from perfect. If you want to just make this an argument about stats, then LBJ wins. But there is so much more to winning that Kobe does a little better then LeBron does.
Just wondering? LeBron is stuck with the biggest idiot, lame duck head coach who can thank LeBron for that coach of the year award, while the Lakers have Phil freakin Jackson..Oh and also probably one of the worst frontcourts in the league, while the Lakers probably have the best..
To me Cavs team without LeBron=Worst record in league
Lakers without Kobe=Probably not a playoff team, but definitely not the worst
i would say that of the final 4 teams, LBJ definitely had the worst supporting cast. Melo has some very good players around him. Howard has studs in Lewis and Turkoglu & Kobe of course has a great team. would anyone, besides Tuck243, disagree? i really think only Mo Williams could even start on any of the other teams.
well he plays better defense imo if you count out the highlight blocks from behind. He shoots better from the perimeter. He hits his ft's, and he has more weapons in his arsenal late in games. LeBron does'nt trust his outside shot late in games so he tries to fullback his way to the lane. Kobe has a better post up game. The only thing LBJ has over Kobe is that he is biiger, faster, and stronger. Kobe's skills are still ahead of LBJ's. If Kobe played in a offense where he just got to go iso for 48 miutes and had no else who could create a shot, I'm sure he would put far better numbers too. Remember when he had to carry guys like Smush, Kwame, and Walton to the playoffs?
The best player LeBron has ever played with is Mo Williams..I mean come on now..I seriously think if that was Ben Gordon there instead of Mo the Cavs may of won it all..he would have knocked down those open threes Mo bricked on

OK...some drama in this post. Here is my Current NBA Top 10 players
1. Kobe Bryant ( The Ring solidify his spot)
2.Dwayne Wade ( I know. If he stayed Healthy he is number two)
3.LeBron James (He needs a ring now. It's time in 2010. Maybe he moves on?)
4.Chris Paul (Best PG in the L, needs some help as well. 2011 is his FA year)
5.Dwight Howard (It's scary to think, he's top 5 and is not even at 50% of his potential)
6.Carmelo Anthony (He turned the corner this year. Had shown improvement on D)
7.Kevin Durant (He made a huge splash last year. He is going to be a top 3 guy next year.)
8.Tim Duncan (Getting Older, still is a 20-10 guy.)
9.Deron Williams (He finally gets the Love. This is a guy who gets constantly overshadowed)
10. Brandon Roy (Showed some excellent games. Could be a top 5 player in a about 2 years)
What do u think? Move some guys up? Into the top 10? Out?
