DanEboyParticipantI like the Turner/ Penny comparison. Not sure about the Cousins/Kamen or the Monroe/Odom comparison though.
And did you just say that Wall is finer than Rose? haha, I hope you meant finesse.

sheltwon3ParticipantHey guys i don’t agree with all his comparisons but if you will don’t agree step up to the plate and post your own so you can get equally criticized. I have to respect that he put it out there and i have not seen Ebanks play enough but that Mashburn thing has me wondering too but he gave two people so maybe Ebanks does have some parts of Mash in his game.

sheltwon3ParticipantJohn Wall – Derrick Rose (more fineness) lol please edit this lol but I see the similarities
Evan Turner – Anfernee Hardaway not bad
Wesley Johnson – more athletic Danny Granger I have seen Johnson play once and I didnt think Granger at all but okay
Derrick Favors – Antonio McDyess I have not seen him play but heard that this could be a good comparsion
DeMarcus Cousins – more quick Chris Kaman Al Jefferson would be closer but Kaman does not seem that far off but Kaman just has a quirkiness to his personality and game that does match this
Avery Bradley – more athletic Kirk Hinrich not sure have not seen Bradley
Xavier Henry – Allan Houston I saw X for part of a game but it was one of his subpar ones
Greg Monroe – Lamar Odom maybe with a lil less athleticism
Willie Warren – more athletic Randy Foye This comparison has promise
Devin Ebanks – Jamal Mashburn/Nicolas Batum not sure on this comparison but i have not watch Ebanks enough
Arnett Moultrie – Jason Thompson dont know
Larry Sanders – Taj Gibson/Serge Ibaka never seen but heard he is like Ratliff
James Anderson – bigger Marcus Thornton I have seen Thornton and if this is true Anderson should be top 10
Damion James – Shawn Marion I could definite see this one
Jan Vesely – Andrei Kirilenko
William Buford – Daequan Cook

M-DYMESParticipantIDK about Monroe being like Odom. Odom ran the point at times for LAL and in LAC in the past. I really don’t think anyone could see Monroe being as great of a playmaker. I think his game will develop much more around the block than Odom who played a mix of the wing as well.

BiggysmallsParticipantoh man where to start…what on earth has Derrick Favors ever done to get a comparison to Antonio Mcdyss? Mcdyess was a legit 20 and 8 guy for a long time and injuries ruined him. He actually had an offensive game. Favors can run and is athletic…zip a dee doo da…he has not offensive ability. I like the Tyrus Thomas comparison personally. Though alot of people wont because Tyrus Thomas hasnt been very good and for some reason Favors gets a rediculous amount of hype.
Damarcus Cousins to Hakeem the Dream??? Why don’t we just go all the way and compare him to Wilt? And while we’re at it lets compare Ebanks to Magic Johnson…i mean he’s 6’8 he’s got a guard skill set and he can pass…doesn’t that make him exactly like Magic Johnson…I’m appalled that someone would ever make a comparison like that one of Cousins to Hakeem. Moving on!
Cousins is also not like Magloire…Magloire if I’m thinking of the right guy was a defensive center who didnt score alot…maybe like 12 points a game. I think if Cousins can get his head straight, he could be a 18 to 22 ppg type player…thats a big IF though.
Someone compared Monta Ellis to Avery Bradley with more O and less D….this one drives me nuts. Ellis is all offense and no defense…so how do they compare. Thats like saying he compares to a opposite version of Ellis…i don’t get it.
Monroe to Amare was pretty outrageous. Monroe actually has a developed skill set while Amare has the freak athleticism…again they are total opposite.
I’m not a fan of the Wesley Johnson to Danny Granger comparison either but from what i read…everyone thinks its true.So I’ll have to watch Cuse more often. from what i have seen I’d say Richard Jefferson or Andre Iguadala would be fair comparisons…but I could be completely off.
Lets stop making the comparison of players where we have to say “more athletic” or “better rebounding”…cuz most of the time those are the things that make those players good.
