Cole Aldrich
I think hes closer to 6'10 but hes got a good touch from the inside and good free throw shooter.Doesnt have great athleticism but respectable 2 blocks a game. If Im a contender late in the first without a low post scorer I'm taking a hard look at this guy. Possible mid first
So I make the post and all the big boy does is go out and puts up 15 points, 20 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 4 blocks. It's too bad Blake Griffin was out, that would have been a great match-up between the two big men
He is like 6' 10, smaller than lopez, but with similar game. If he bulks up a bit could be a good PF/Center in the league.
His footspeed is below average, he could be a liability on the perimeter.
On the good side his jumshot is very effective, and is a solid FT shooter. I project him 15-25 in this draft or 10-13 on 2010
I like this guy. He has extremely nice touch around the basket and can hit a mid range shot even though his form is very awkward. Great free throw shooter for a big man which is a huge plus. Also a very good shot blocker. He will be a good player in the league some day.
I kinda like Cole even though he didn't stay home and join the Gophers. My jealous nature didn't allow me to root for him last year in the Final Four, but now I'm happy for him. I just don't have faith in his ability to do anything in the next level (NBA). I don't think he's quick enough to hang with the big men in the NBA, and his midrange jumper isn't that good yet. But he is a great college player.
I think he is like brook lopez, with less range on his jumper. They both have the same strong points, but they both are a little mechanical around the rim sometimes. They have decent athleticism but nothing spectacular.

How do you guys feel about the Kansas Center Cole Aldrich? Personally I feel like he is one of the most underrated players in college basketball despite playing for such a big name school. I feel that Aldrich, much like Brook Lopez last year has taken over the paint for his team and is both a good offensive and defensive presence. While not quite as big as Lopez (6'11 245 vs 7'0 260), I believe that Aldrich will be undervalued on draft day, will slide a little farther than he should, and end up being an impact player on whatever team drafts him much like Brook Lopez has for the Nets this year.
