Great signings by the Clips today. They spent 4 million on Randy Foye (a good bench player that can play the 1 and the 2 which is good because if bledsoe earns the backup pg spot they can play bledsoe at the 2). Also, its only a 2 year deal so if warren pans out, they can just put him in the rotation for foye. Warren was a late 2nd round pick, you shouldn’t count on 2nd rounders to play big minutes their rookie year so this was an excellent signing. he actually had a great stretch of games following the gilbert arenas suspension that showed his potential. Remember he is only 26 and had his best year last season. However, the clippers signed him as a backup so it was a great signing.

Next they signed Ryan Gomes for 3 years, 12 million. He is another good bench player that is still relatively young. He is a tough defender with great work ethic and character which the clippers need to build a winning culture. Both signings were bargains and savy moves for the first year gm Neil Olshey.

Now they have about 8 million to spend along with craig smith’s bird rights so they can bring in korver for 5 million, big sofo for 3 million, and then bring back smith.

    pg: baron, foye, bledsoe
    sg: gordon, korver, warren
    sf: gomes, aminu
    pf: griffin, smith, sofo
    c: kaman, jordan

I don’t like it. They are ignoring all of their weaknesses in these signings.

Gordon and Baron are shooter and if the get Korver that is another dead eye shooter.

Kaman and Griffin rebound an work down low.

Bledsoe and Aminu are young talented

Gomes and Smith are quality vets

Clippers have mad depth but need to save money to max out Griffin in a few years and keep and improve DeAndre Jordan from leaving.

The Team still needs a SF and a backup PF.

what are they waiting for…. every damn free agent is signing and if they wait a lil longer they will miss out on a quality player.

Get UDONIS HASLEM already and pick up a SF like Josh Howard before he gets signed for a bargain somewhere else.

people are underestimating Warren. I watched him play many many times at OU. Will he ever be a first option in the nba? NO! Will he ever be a second option? PROBABLY NOT. But i can see him as an explosive third option off the bench similar to J Terry or B Gordon. Plus playing with Blake Griffin again will be beneficial for him. If he doesn’t make the team it will be a damn shame

Once again on paper it looks good like a couple of other years the problem is this is the clippers. Something always goes wrong. as some one said” I’m scared to wear a clippers hat cuz I might tear my ACL”
