don042488ParticipantIf the Clippers can some how sign Corey Brewer & keep Matt Barnes, to fill their vacant starting small forward position (being that Caron Butler is gone now, via trade), I think their the favorites to come out the West next season.

220ParticipantThey don’t necessarily need to bring someone else in to start at small forward. Jared Dudley is certainly good enough to start at small forward. They also drafted Reggie Bullock and depending on how he develops he can be a serviceable rotation player this season. It still makes sense to bring back Matt Barnes if they get him at a reasonable price.

don042488ParticipantYour right, I forgot they acquired Dudley and have a chance of resigning Matt Barnes too…But Bullock is more a shooting guard, he’s listed at 6’7, but he’s not. Bullock is really 6’5

doubledribblerParticipantIf history is anything, Matt Barnes tends to get contracts well below his value. While 12 million is a lot of money for anyone, that is not much in the NBA considering his production, number of years as a player (10) and the number of times he has been a free agent. I don’t win or lose if he stays, but I hope the dude makes sure he gets a long term deal for a reasonable amount so he can have some extra security when he retires.

JoeWolf1Reddick is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. Bringing him in was huge in my opinion, he is a great outside shooter, and adequate defender and a guy who’s even developed as a distributer over the years. He seems like a perfect addition to a team looking to push. Fantastic trade piece.

WITNESS2014ParticipantYou have to also put in mind that Redick has never had a pg who can pass the way CP3 can. He will get the most open shots he has ever gotten in his career, The only pgs he has played with has been Jameer Nelson and Brandon Jennings. Enough said.

aivsdirkParticipantwhats good. I am new here but I do ponder on basketball ideas in my head all the time. About the Clipper’s new 3, Jared Dudley, is serviceable and a better defender than caron who I have to mention is past his prime days of washington but overall not that much of an upgrade. JJ is he comes in as a scorer and decent playmaker I agree with joewolf and this also promotes the on court chemistry of what the point guard, chris paul, needs in a viable 2 a scorer he can pass to. billups is old but he was still a solid piece the only thing is 2 play makers playing that many minutes together slows down the ball movement. One guy gets the ball and he’s thinking how do I create for a couple seconds then the other gets it and he more often than not will be thinking the same thing.
but really you all are not coming out of the west. here is my view about the matter clippers big men overall are ordinary. Blake is the best you have and his jumper is inconsistent, he is athletic and a good passer but deandre Jordan is a detriment too the team put up average number is the regular season then dropped even lower in the playoffs. I know clippers were thinking about his ((potential!)) but 10 mil for 6pts 4reb in the playoffs? You were mauled by Memphis big men and this will continue too happen with what you guys have. it wont happen but they could amnesty Jordan and sign DHoward or al Jefferson. Well that or trade Bledsoe who does every thing well except shoot, which his perimeter jumper has gotten better by each year. oh yeah I forgot clippers did use that latter option. Ultimately same thing will happen in the playoffs each time clips go against a team with two decent post players.0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/03/2013 - 6:06am #811997
