he_gets_bucketsParticipantOne of the more polarizing talents in this years draft, CJ Leslie, went all 60 picks without hearing his name called. While most of the debates surrounding him was whether he would sneak into the second round, or remain an early to mid second rounder, not many had him going undrafted. He never had the breakout year that many expected he would have every pre season. A lack of effort and under whelming personal, and team efforts by NC State, are most likely what is to blame for this fall from grace.
A gifted athlete, but very much a tweener, I think CJ can help an NBA team, if not now, a few years down the line, and I think he will almost certainly be on a roster when the season rolls around. I think a veteran team in need of depth could sign him and have him develop behind establish players, a team like Memphis, San Antonio, Indiana, OKC could all be landing spots for him. I personally think a place like Memphis where he can learn from guys like Z-Bo and Marc Gasol, and really have a work ethic drilled into him by that team would be great for him. I’m hoping that going undrafted wakes him up and forces him to bust a gut, he was one of the most exciting guys to watch when he was engaged.

theballerwayParticipantI thought he would get a look in the second round for sure. He’ll definately be on a summer league team though. Hopefully latch on from there.

qDizzle32ParticipantEver since I started using this site, CJ Leslie has become the first player I’ve ever projected going in the first round who went undrafted. That really surprised me how somebody like him could go undrafted in as bad of a draft class this supposedly was.

AZcats09ParticipantI never thought I’d see the day where someone would say that Z-bo would help enstill work ethic in a player…

Mr. HookShotParticipantFor some of these guys, going undrafted isn’t a bad thing: he can join preseason/summer league with a good team/organization, and maybe have a better start to his career than some of these guys drafted in the second round (who wind up at losing organizations).

i’m jus so offendedParticipantJust too much of a tweener but unlike most, there is no chance he can bang down low, which is really all he did in college.

MagikKnickParticipantKnicks picked him up, probably a SL invite
But given their desperate need for young frontcourt depth, he might actually make the roster
