Mr. BasketballParticipantOn PTI today they said that CP3 might be traded. They said the teams that will be involved are the Nets, Knicks, and Clippers. They said the Clippers have the most to offer from those teams. Think about it like this: Chris Paul is way better than Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, and Amare. What if the Clippers decided to offer Eric Gordon and cap space to make the deal work for Chris Paul. Think about it, the Hornets get a young stud in Eric Gordon and they get a huge financial helping while still having a young stud at PG in Collison. The lineups would be:
Clippers:
pg: Paul
sg: Ray Allen (possibly for 5 million or another sg for cheap)
sf: Al-Farouq Aminu
pf: Griffin
c: KamanHornets:
pg: Darren Collison
sg: Eric Gordon
sf: Marcus Thornton
pf: David West
c: Emeka Okafor+ way better off financially

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantHave a feeling whoever gets CP3 has to take on Okafor’s contract as well..

Mr. BasketballParticipantthey would save A LOT OF MONEY with that deal so they wouldn’t force okafor.

AllDayyyParticipantEnough is enough people, there is like a 1% chance CP3 gets moved. And there is 0% chance he gets moved in a scenario where the team does not take either Okafor or Peja. FFS people, stop letting all these bs ESPN/WWW rumors get into your head. They are just trying to drum up interest for the draft. Seriously he is not going to get moved. DC is on the block and can be had as long as you take a Peja’s/Okafor’s/Posey’s (to a lesser exctent) contract.
Please let’s stop these ridiculous trade options for CP3!

AllDayyyParticipantJesus when reading your actual trade proposition it just makes it that much more confounding.
Clippers are moving Gordon for CP3, to have B Diddy and his fat contract sit on the bench. Somehow they are going to sign Ray Allen for 5 million a year, that’s laughable. Hornets don’t even get cap relief they just trade away their best player for Gordon and cap filler, without dumping one of their crappy contracts. Do you think before you post? Or are you just a giant Clippers homer?0

BasketballGuru24ParticipantClipps Trade : Gordon , Steve Blake , Outlaw
Hornets Trade : CP3
another trade : Clips trade baron davis to pacers for their draft pick and Luther Head

Mr. JewboyParticipantwhat would the clippers do with baron davis if this will happen?
and that would definitely make the hornets have the smallest starting 5 everthis trade doenst make sense and doesnt really help anyone

CoherentParticipantIt’s not just Paul’s contract though, Okafor, West, and Posey all have considerably large contracts as well. The only reason he is big talk is because of who he is. I’m sure they would much rather move Okafor and West before they move Paul.
You also have to think the Hornets fans would be pissed, Paul is suppose to be the savior.

llperezi think paul is paid fair market value so its not like the hornets would move him just for cap space. A trade with the clips could work, but not just for eric gordon and cap space. Maybe if the clipps threw in the 8th pick.

AllDayyyParticipantWhy the hell would the Pacer’s want BDiddy’s bum ass and his huge contract? Even if they did how do the salaries match up? Davis makes fat stacks and luther head makes baby stacks.
THINK BEFORE YOU POST

llperezyeah, no way they move paul for cap space. Paul only has 2 years left anyways and whoever the clippers sent over would have 1 year left so basically you trade the best pg in basketball for gordon and 1 year of saving money. If they really wanted to save cap space, they would have to inlude okafor.

Forte IVParticipantI would think a 3team trade between the Pacers/Clippers/Hornets would be the only way the clips could possibly get CP3. The Clips would def have to take on maybe Okafors contract.

Mr. BasketballParticipantbaron would go to NY for eddy curry’s 2011 expiring contract

Brace94Participanti know if the Hornets did that trade that wouldn’t be their lineup clippers, Marcus Thorton a 6’4” guard will not play the SF they would easily be destroyed by every other team because literally every other team will have way more height than they would. you cant teach height.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIguadola,Lou Williams and Hawes…next years Picks…the ones after that if we need to…give him a cheese steak and a house in South Philly…for 1 Chris Paul and James Posey…At that point i’d trade Jrue Holiday to the Pacers for that 10th pick and B.Rush…Draft me the BPA and pair Paul with Turner,Thad,Brand,Speights,Nocioni,Rush,Meeks…10th pick from the Pacers…Henry,George,Babbit or Whiteside…
We all know Paul ain’t going anywhere until he hits free agency…Teams are about to start saving Now…

Zeke33ParticipantNO wont trade Paul. Not only is he better than Collison but hes great for the franchaise and hes a huge name around the NBA. They do have to trade collison though. hes a stud. i think it would be smarter to trade CP3 and get a solid true center and SF but ill be shocked if CP3 is the one to go. he should finish his career though. He made that franchaise
