I know it’s early, but this seems like a red flag to me.  Bosh is and has always been a face up power forward, but after last year a lot of questions about his rebounding ability seem to be answered.  But, this season he’s digressed and is averaging an anemic 5.5 rebounds per game and in the games I’ve seen him in has pretty much abandoned the block in favor of jump shots and cutting to the rim.  I nor anyone else doesn’t expect Bosh to play like a back to the basket forward, but coming after a 1 rebound performance in a loss I think this raises a big red flag for Miami.  I know they didn’t sign him to abandon his 9-10 rpg ways in favor of a his new trend.  I’ll admit I’ve only seen Miami play twice this season and neither game was I at all impressed with Bosh. In my limited experience watching Miami it looked to me as if Bosh just hung out on the perimeter and let Haslem go for everything on the block.  What do you guys think about his play and Miami and why do you think his rebounding has been so terrible?

Bargnani isn’t a great rebounder so Bosh got all his, just look at what Reggie Evans is doing in Toronto. Now in Miami both Lebron and Wade are great rebounders so their aren’t as many rebounds to go around.

But Joel Anthony is averaging like 4.5 rpg which is actually less than Bargs did last season and Lebron and D-Wade’s rebounding is both under 6.  I don’t think it has anything to do with James being a good rebounder either.  Cleveland has always had guys who rebounded well around him. Varejeau, Jamison, Shaq, Young Big Z, Drew Gooden are all guys who aveaged 7-10 rpg playing with Lebron.  There are plenty of small forwards in the NBA that averaged 7 rpg ( hell even KD does) I don’t think thats an excuse for your starting PF to put up 5.5 per game.

Chris Bosh is no where near as good as I thought he would be

In my opinion there is no reason for him to average the amount of rebounds he is. I understand he has never been a great rebounder and he is playing with guys who are good rebounders, but this is pathetic. If he showed some heart and the desire to get dirty then he would average more. With him being 6’11" at least 3 to 4 rebounds just fall in his hands because he puts his arms up.  I think he is way more comfortable with falling in the background than I thought.

I don’t like what I see from him offensively either. He’s avoiding the painted area like he might catch a disease.  He is less effecient. Funny how everyone else is more effecient playing off of probably 2 of the 3 best players in the league. Both of which are excellent passers. Since Gasol has been with the Lakers, he didn’t have a huge shift in his points per game, but his rebound average has been up as well as his shooting percentage. When Ray Allen, Peirce and Garnett joined forces, I think all of them saw their scoring averages dropped, but they all shot really high percentages and were way more effecient all around. I expected to see Bosh become more efficient and to benefit the most from playing with Lebron and Wade. Less offensive responsibility means he only has to chip in when needed and can amp it up on the defensive end.

He is just not being aggressive, when players get physical with him he doesn’t like it and like you said tends to go off the block/post and settle for mid range shots. Part of the Hornets game plan was to play rough with him and he needs to learn to get physical back or this will be a consistent trend of him staying off the glass, and at this point in time, the Heat do not need that because their interior defense is already shaky to begin with and if the problem is not addressed, bigger froncourt teams will literally destroy them.

Bosh hasnt been used right in coach Eric’s offense..

Even though Bosh isnt a physical player he isnt afraid of contact…He looks lost and is too passive in their offense..

I wasnt too excited about all 3 of those guys going there..I figured they’d win about 66 or 68 games..Not 72 or 82 like some said they would..lol..

Becuz i knew Wade and Lebron would sometimes cancel each other out…They both have some of the same limitations on offense..And they werent use to not playing without the ball in their hands..

The Heat needed a post presence in the middle and Bosh isnt a post player…

This whole thing really makes me wonder why they didn’t go after Dampier. Dampier is not great. Dude has hands of stone, but he can block shots, rebound and play a little defense. He can’t do any of those things at a high level, but it’s something Miami could use, especially if they decided to go out and get another center the best one available is who…Earl Barron, Steven Hunter?
